SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ has won a lot of international awards till date but winning an Oscar award is the biggest of all. It bagged the award in the ‘Best Original Song’ category and it is a huge moment for Indian cinema. Prior to getting the award, the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song was performed live on stage and it got an amazing response from everyone.
Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava recreated their vocals and did a fantastic job. They put their heart and soul into the performance and were amazing on the big night. But it is the dancers who were absolutely fantastic as they danced to Prem Rakshith’s choreography. There were in perfect sync and the perfect costumes and dancing were just a treat to watch.
The entire crowd who were present at the hall were enjoying throughout the performance and the whole team who performed on stage got a standing ovation after it was completed. What’s more interesting is the fact that Deepika Padukone gave an introduction before the performance. She called it ‘the first song ever from an Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar’.
This is a huge moment for both the singers and to Indian cinema lovers where a local song is being appreciated highly on the international stage. During this acceptance speech, Keeravani said, “Thank you, Academy! I grew up listening to carpenters and now, here I am with the Oscars. There was only one wish on my mind, So was Rajamouli’s and my family’s! RRR has to win, the pride of every Indian! And must put me on top of the world!”
