Young hero Vijay Devarakonda made his foray in Tollywood within a short span. ‘Arjun Reddy’ made him a sensation amongst youth and films like ‘Pelli Choopulu’ and ‘Geetha Govindham’ made him closer to the families. Apart from his on-screen success, his offscreen personality brought him the ‘Rowdy’ image.
Today, he is not just confined to Tollywood. He has popularity across the country and Vijay is very active on social media which is helping him to increase that craze. With Bollywood actresses like Alia Bhatt and Janhvi claiming him as their favourite, Devarakonda is enjoying superstardom in North more than any other hero from South. To utilise that craze, he is planning to release his ‘Fighter’ with Puri Jagannath in multiple languages.
But all these doesn’t mean that he is above our star heroes. Despite all the craze, Vijay lacks proper script judgement as he delivered some disasters like ‘NOTA’ and ‘Dear Comrade’. The failure of ‘Dear Comrade’ came as a shocker as he promoted it heavily. Also, people are complaining about the monotony in his acting these days.
After looking at the posters of ‘World Famous Lover’, many people felt that he is still in the hangover of ‘Arjun Reddy’. With some stills from the film reminding them of ‘Dear Comrade’, fans are getting worried about this movie. Also, Vijay is labelled as Tollywood’s Emraan Hashmi because of all the lip-kisses he indulges in. Many are feeling that he is stuck in an image circle and doing routine roles.
No matter how big a star, script selection is the most important thing and it is high time Vijay realises it and start working on it instead of thinking about his social media image.
