It is already known that several buildings and properties are being demolished all over Visakhapatnam, under the norms of violating leases and that these buildings have been illegally constructed in government lands.
Notices are also not being issued to the owners of these buildings which are being demolished, and the buildings are being demolished over night. The government is not even giving an explanation to the concerned authorities about the reasons behind the demolishing of these buildings, and is maintaining a carefree attitude. This has made everyone to start believing that the government is expecting its revenge on whoever has opposed them in the past, and whoever is affiliated to the TDP.
The government’s target now seems to be TDP member Ganta Srinivas Rao. There were several rumors and speculations in the past that the government was planning to demolish several properties belonging to Ganta, but Ganta got a stay order from the HC. which made the government stay silent for a while. Now, the government has once again targeted Ganta’s properties, and has recently demolished the gates of Ganta’s land in Vijayarampuram, citing lease issues.
Ganta is saying that he bought this land way before he entered politics, and that there were no issues surrounding this land when he bought it. He also said that banks have given him loans with this land as collateral.
Until a few months ago, there were strong rumors of Ganta joining YSRCP, but that did not come to pass. It is being said that Ministers Avanthi and Vijayasai Reddy are the people responsible for Ganta not joining YSRCP. As a result, Ganta now belongs to neither YSRCP nor TDP.
With Vijayasai leading the demolition works, and also being responsible for Ganta not joining YSRCP, political circles are now saying that Vijayasai is intentionally trying to dominate Ganta, and reportedly trying to get rid of him politically.
