What Next, Advisors To Collectors: High Court Asks AP Government!

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 general elections with a landslide victory. It’s been around four years since Jagan rose to the Chief Minister post. During this period he took many controversial decisions bringing severe criticism from various corners.

nt to the notice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and the court made some serious comments. The High Court asked what is the sanctity of the appointments of the advisors.

The High Court raised a valid point in this and asked what is the logic behind these appointments. Not happy with this, the bench even wondered if advisors would be appointed for MROs and others as well.

There is a point in the questions raised by the High Court. A person was appointed as the advisor to the Endowments Department and the same was questioned. The person moved the High Court challenging the orders. During the hearing, the High Court spoke about the appointments of advisors as a whole and asked what is the need for it.

We have seen the government appointing advisors even though there is no need for this. No one understands why is a need to appoint an advisor for the Endowments Department. The High Court said that the advisors are being appointed as per the wish and asked about their salaries.

Saying that there is a procedure to follow in appointing the advisors, the High Court asked from where the advisors will get salaries and sought details about it. Having said that the bench of the High Court also asked under what basis the advisors are being appointed for such a big salary and the allowances they get.

Slamming the decision to appoint advisors without any need, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh asked if the government would appoint advisors to Collectors, Police Commissioners, and Tahsildars.

Given the track record of the Andhra Pradesh government in taking controversial decisions and getting slammed by the Courts we will not be surprised if the government appoints advisors.
