What’s wrong in Pawan acting in films?

The resignation of former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) V V Lakshminaryana from Jana Sena Party may not be a big news, but the reason cited by him for quitting the party is something that interested everybody.

Lakshminarayana, popularly known as JD because of his earlier designation during his stint in the CBI, could not find any other reason for quitting Jana Sena except party president Pawan Kalyan returning to film acting.

Had he resigned from the party on ideological grounds or lack of leadership qualities in Pawan, Lakshminarayana would have got some justification. But, citing Pawan’s return to films as the reason is something silly for a person like former CBI joint director.

Lakshminarayana should have understood that Pawan is basically an actor and not a true politician. He is known to the world only as an actor; and when he goes into the people, they throng his road shows only to see their favourite hero in him and not the politician. Otherwise, his party would have got huge number of seats in the assembly elections.

Now that his party has been rejected by the people and there is still four years’ time to get back into political activity, Pawan has chosen to return to films to sustain his filmy charm in the people.

He knows that if he doesn’t act in films and fights the next elections only as a politician, he might not get even the six per cent votes he got in the last elections.

As Pawan rightly said in his statement, he needs money and his party also needs money for the next elections. Since he has no other activity to do, he has to act in films to make money. So, he has come back to films.

It is the fault of Lakshminarayana to understand Pawan Kalyan and not vice versa. The ex-CBI officer should have found a different reason for quitting the party.
