Venky is considered one of the standout films in Telugu cinema. It catapulted Ravi Teja to stardom and solidified director Sreenu Vaitla’s reputation as a successful filmmaker. During the pre-release event for his latest film, Viswam, he was prompted to share his thoughts on a potential Venky 2.
While addressing the audience, the host asked Sreenu Vaitla which young hero from the current generation he would cast if he were to make a sequel. Surprisingly, Vaitla refrained from naming any specific actor. Instead, he emphasized the importance of friendship in his casting choices.
“I’m not sure who it would be, but the hero should be my friend. When I made Venky, Ravi Teja was one of my friends who trusted me greatly. Similarly, I believe the hero should be someone I have a friendship with; that’s crucial for the film. Many young heroes today excel in comedy and are doing great work. So, I can’t pick just one name,” shared Sreenu Vaitla.
Venky featured Sneha in the lead role and the film has music scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The film has become a big blockbuster at the box office.
