One is not sure whether Vizag is the city of promise and prospect, but it seems to be the city of political destiny. Most of those who managed to find some space in YS Jagan’s council of ministers are now making a beeline to the city. NO not to launch developmental works or unveil statues, but to offer prayers to Raja Shyamala, the presiding deity of the Sarada Peetham and then pay obeisance to Peetham’s seer Swaroopananda.
On Sunday, Tourism minister RK Roja visited Vizag. He offered prayers at Simhachalam and then went to Sarada Peetham to seek the blessings of the seer, considered close to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.Another woman minister in Jagan’s cabinet, Vidadala Rajini, who is also the incharge for the district, went straight to the Vizag seer. The seer gifted her a saree and performed special poojas.
Similarly, endowments minister Kottu Satyanarayaa and information minister Venu Gopala krishna too visited Vizag. They also offered prayers at various temples, including Simhachalam temple. Later, they went straight to the Sarada Peetham to seek the blessings of Sarada Peetham Seer Swaroopananda.
Sources say that more ministers are likely to descend on Vizag in the coming days to pay their obeisances to the Swamy. Sources also said that chief minister YS Jagan himself is likely to visit Vizag soon. With all these visits, Vizag is suddenly in the news, capital or no capital.
