Ever since she returned from a long vacation, Kavitha Kalwakuntla is on a hyper active mode. She has been meeting party leaders and is taking active interest in the party affairs. She is said to be instrumental in the appointment of senior MLA Bajireddy Govardhan as the chairperson of the APSRTC. But, what she did in the legislative council showed that she is determined to make her mark.
On Monday, she created a flutter when she criticised the TRS government, which is led by her father K Chandrasekhar Rao. Speaking in the council, she demanded that the government provide minimum facilities and amenities in the newly constituted mandals. She said in several mandal level offices there is no furniture for the MLAs and other elected representatives to sit. She demanded that the panchayat raj minister address this issue in the right earnest.
She said that most of the newly carved administrative units did not have proper offices and the minimum needed amenities. She wanted the government to focus on this and address the issues being faced by the elected people’s representatives. She said that in many places, the officials were facing several problems due to the lack of infrastructure.
Kavitha questioning her own government raised quite a few eyebrows. Many leaders spoke in hushed tones about why she was criticising her own government.
