Telangana CM KCR is a wise politician who is well aware what kind of actions would lead to what kind of consequences. It is this political acumen which has set the tone for a logical conclusion to Telangana
agitation, finally resulting in separate statehood in the year 2014, approved by most parties in India.
KCR is well aware what spelled the doom for Telangana agitation in 1969. The answer was mindless violence including physical attacks on Andhras in Telangana. Such was the situation then that many Andhra officers were burnt alive during those attacks in interior Telangana districts.
KCR ensured that violence doesn’t cross a point and there was a clear message not to repeat the mistakes of 1969 because that would only attract harsh measures from Delhi but not statehood. However now there are reports that such things may not be fully under the control of Telangana’s CM KCR.
With KCR losing grip over some splinter political groups that are loosely associated with Maoists and have extremist views, in case the trouble regarding section 8 implementation spills beyond control in Hyderabad and elsewhere, this time there is a fear that there may be indeed targeted physical attacks on Andhras and their properties. This may worsen the grip on the state for KCR though on the record they may put a brave face and blame Chandrababu for such things.
