Is KCR planning to rejin his cabinet? If sources are to be believed, KCR is planning to have some additions and some removals to his cabinet. Sources say that the new cabinet would be sworn in on April 1, the Ugadi day. KCR is also likely to take up appointment to the nominated posts in the state.
In fact, there were reports that KCR wanted to expand his cabinet and bring in Kalwakuntla Kavitha and Kadiyam Srihari into the ministry. But, the idea was shelved for some unknown reasons. There was a buzz that KCR wanted to drop some ministers from his cabinet as their performance is way too below par.
Sources say that KCR had got a survey done on the performance of the ministers and found that several ministers were facing anti-incumbency. They are both unpopular and are facing allegations of corruption. The names of Srinivas Goud Gangula Kamalakar, Minister Prashant Reddy and Home Minister Mahboob Ali are doing rounds. They could be dropped.
KCR reportedly feels that some leaders, who played a key role in the Telangana agitation, should be accommodated in the cabinet to remove the perception that the defectors and those who had opposed the Telangana formation are getting all opportunities while those who toiled, braved lathis and spent time in jails are ignored. KCR wants to correct this perception.
Meanwhile there are also reports that Banda Prakash, who belongs to the Mudiraj community could be made a minister as the Mudiraj face of the party, Eatala Rajender, is now in the opposite camp. Banda, who was a Rajya Sabha MP, was brought into the council only with this end in view, according to sources.
