Congress President Sonia Gandhi elevated her son Rahul Gandhi to Vice President Post and hoped that his elevation will boost the morale of the party workers and help it win elections.
However it faced crushing defeat in the general elections. The scene did not change even after Rahul Gandhi returning back from introspective holidays. Party before and after tasted defeats in various elections in different states.
Recently Sonia Gandhi’s grandson, Rehan, son of Priyanka and Robert Wadra visited Amethi and spent one day there. Without informing anyone he along with his friends reached a village in his car and interacted with the villagers.
He asked about their problems and also had meals with him. He later met people in night staying at Sanjay Gandhi hospital guest house in Munshi Gunj, Uttar Pradesh.
People were surprised as they did not have information about Rehan Gandhi’s visit. Currently Amethi is represented by Rehan’s uncle Rahul Gandhi. Sonia and Priyanka too often visits Amethi and Rai Bareli.
