Actor Prakash Raj who had contested the Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections suffered a big defeat. He lost the elections to Manchu Vishnu, the other contestant for the MAA President post. Reacting to the election result, Prakash Raj had alleged that the election result was impacted by regionalism in the industry.
Days after announcing that he will resign from MAA, Prakash Raj had surprised everyone with his new announcement. The Actor-director said that all the 11 members from his panel who had won the elections will resign from their respective posts.
While announcing that his panel members will resign from their positions, Prakash Raj alleged that the previous MAA President Naresh did not focus on MAA association and he went ahead with a single-man agenda. He also said that the decisions and implementations of the members of any association should match for the overall growth.
Prakash Raj also gave a big twist and said that he would take back his resignation if the rule that stays outsiders is not applicable to run the MAA elections was not brought.
Prakash Raj announced the sensational decision, amid reports of him announcing a new association as an opponent for the existing MAA body. It is also said that the new association announced by Prakash Raj would have names of two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in its name.
