A 62-year-old Indian national, Mohammad Basheer Abdul Khadar, from Kerala, was among the 300 people on board the Emirates EK521 plane which crash landed at the Dubai International airport on August 3. He thanked the God for making him one of the luckiest persons to escape the fatal accident but even he had not imagined that he would go on to win a $1 million lottery only 6 days after.
Khadar has won a $1 million lottery conducted by the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire at Dubai International Airport. He had reportedly purchased the ticket on the eve of Eid on his way to India to celebrate the festival with his family in Thiruvananthapuram. He had the habit of purchasing lottery tickets whenever he travelled to India and he struck gold after purchasing his 17th raffle ticket.
Khadar said he wants to help poor children in Kerala who need financial and medical support.
