The GQ 50 Most Influential Young Indians 2019 awards were held on Sunday and the ace filmmaker Karan Johar was the guest of honour for the event. The memorable event is all about celebrating recognized people under 40 years of age who influenced society in their respective fields.
The GQ Editor-In-Chief, Che Kurrien, commenced the event by giving a speech, including on crucial points like triumphs in life and unexpected failures. He also opened up about his obsession to shop online. On the other hand, KGF fame ‘Rocking Star’ Yash was one among the 50 influential people to grace the event. He is currently one of the South’s highest-paid actors.
Yash took to his Instagram to thank for the opportunity to be a part of GQ India’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians list. “Thank you GQ India for recognising the growth and the story we are weaving together as an industry. An incredible night it was – seeing 49 other wonderful souls from varied backgrounds all striving to be the change in their respective fields! Much to learn from all. Definitely an exciting time to be in the industry today.

As we wait for the sequel of his blockbuster film KGF: Chapter 1, Yash gave a few smart answers in the event, winning everybody’s heart. He was asked” what’s the coolest thing he has ever done?”, Yash replied, Marriage”. Another question was asked, “Who inspires him? To which the actor replied, “I can’t choose one, I actually pick good things from everyone”. However, he named a few role models that he considers and they are – veteran Kannada actor Shankar Nag, MS Dhoni and PM Narendra Modi.
With 50 most influential young people after shortlisting the year-ender list, the event was organized at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai and Karan Johar stole the show with his spontaneity. The year 2019 was marvellous for Indian cinemas, however, Kjo was asked to pick one favourite movie of the year. The filmmaker said there are too many good movies this year and I liked Uri, Kabir Singh, Gully Boy and infant, I’m a very mainstream people, liking all the hit films,” he said.
