Out of the negative reviews on Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, one review stood out for its outright feminist stand. The critic not just bashed the film, but she went onto bash the original film and the Telugu audiences who made it the blockbuster. This is what hasn’t gone down well with young hero Sundeep Kishan who is in totally love of Arjun Reddy.
In a sharp and befitting counter to the critic, Sundeep posted a series of tweets cornering the said critic’s one-sided review. “Judging a film based on your personal taste is one thing…But judging the audience who liked it is a whole diff level of narcissism…I loved Arjun Reddy and stand by my opinion…And just in case…Here you go…guess we are not alone afterall…#Telugu #TeluguAudience,” wrote Sundeep who also shared the Hindi remakes of Telugu movies that did phenomenally well at the Box Office,” wrote Sundeep.
Sundeep also noted that how several Telugu movies were remade in Hindi and earned crores at the BO. It can be recalled that Temper was remade as Simmba (400.19 Crore), Kick was remade as Kick (388.7 Crore), Kshanam was remade as Baaghi 2 (254.33 Crore), Vikramarkudu was remade as Baaghi 2 (254.33 Crore), Stalin as Jai Ho (195.04 Crore), Ready as Ready (188.5 Crore), Maryada Ramanna as Son of Sardaar (161.48 Crore), Varsham as Baaghi (125.92 Crore), Pokiri as Wanted (87.42 Crore), Parugu as Heropanti (77.9 Crore) and the list goes on.
Overall, Sundeep’s tweets standing for Telugu audiences is a laudable move.
