YSRCP’s severe damage control measures

The YSRCP has gained a rather infamous reputation at the state and national level right now, at least with respect to the dumping of garbage in front of banks. This issue became nationally popular, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman also speaking about it.

Vuyyur Municipal Commissioner N. Prakasa Rao has been suspended by the Andhra Pradesh government, following the dumping of garbage in front of many banks in the Krishna District. Immediate action was taken against Rao as there was evidence against him. Posters with Rao’s name on it were posted by the sanitary staff of the Vuyyur Municipality, as banks were refusing to sanction loans.

Enquiries have been launched with respect to this garbage dumping incident by the Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, and the Vijayawada and Machilipatnam Municipal Commissioners have been asked to give their explanations with respect to this incident as well.

As part of the damage control, letters have been sent to the concerned banks, by the Krishna District Collector, stating that such events would not take place in the future, and that there would be severe action taken against those who are responsible for the incident in the first place.

The AP government is clearly trying to do as much damage control as it can, as soon as it can. It is now to be seen what will happen from here.
