Why Manchu Lakshmi Doesn’t Like Him?
Manchu Lakshmi is one of the few vocally active actors in Tollywood and she doesn’t mince words when it comes to expressing her opinion fearlessly. She has done the same to a great extent now as she has announced that she isn’t in approval of the Allu Arjun characterization in Pushpa. This has now become a topic of discussion in itself.
In a latest interview, Manchu Lakshmi gets asked to pick between Prabhas’s Baahubali or Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and she has a bold statement to make here. She immediately picked Baahubali and went on to explain her choice.
Manchu Lakshmi stated that she doesn’t quite like the way the Pushpa character behaves in the film as it objectifies women and demeans them. She opined that the character is regressive towards women and that isn’t to be accepted in this modern era where women are striving and progressing along.
“I like Allu Arjun very much and I enjoyed watching Pushpa as a film but I didn’t like the way the Pushpa character objectified women and spoke it about them. This isn’t something that I usually associate a superstar with. This doesn’t set the right example for the rural population who watch this film. But again this is my personal opinion and it has nothing to do with the creative choices of the makers of the film.
They have full freedom to pick what they want.” Lakshmi commented on this matter. Lakshmi who is usually very vocal about her choice of words on certain topics is back at it again now. She has even explained the reasoning behind her big call.
Dua Lipa cancels concert at last minute due to ‘unsafe conditions’, says she is ‘heartbroken’
Singer-songwriter Dua Lipa has cancelled a concert citing “safety issues” with the staging and told fans that she’s “heartbroken” by the situation.The singer was due to perform in Indonesia on her Radical Optimism world tour, reports ‘Mirror UK’.She however announced that her performance at Indonesia Arena – Senayan in Jakarta would not go ahead as planned.
She shared the news in a statement on her Instagram Story. Dua told fans, “I am heartbroken to share that I won’t be able to perform in Jakarta this Saturday, November 9. I am there in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging”.
As per ‘Mirror UK’, the singer continued by saying in the statement, “I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta”.Dua concluded by telling fans on the platform, “Refunds will be made from your point of purchase. I love you all and truly can’t wait to be back together in the same room with you singing and dancing our hearts out as soon as possible”.
The Radical Optimism tour opened earlier this week in Singapore. Her gig in Indonesia was set to be the third concert on the tour and she’s scheduled to next perform in the Philippines on Wednesday. Dua is set to then visit venues in countries like Japan, Australia, Spain and Belgium in the coming months.

Actress Preity Zinta once revealed that she was quite the mischievous child, often leaving her mother embarrassed with her naughty antics.
During her appearance on the chat show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, the actress revealed at just 12 years old, she pretended to be 18 by stuffing oranges in her bra to sneak into an army club. While confessing being very naughty as a kid, Preity shared, “I was always a bit of rebellious. I was very very naughty. I think I have embarrassed my mother a lot. Now that I have grown up and I see my friends with their children’s, I am like oh my god, I hope I don’t have kids like me.”
The ‘Soldier’ actress went on to describe how her curiosity once led her to pull a prank to gain entry into an adults-only army party.
Zinta added, “As you know, in the army, children below 18 are not allowed to attend army parties. And, it intrigued me to know what was happening behind those doors. So, I went to my mom’s cupboard, took out a bra, and stuffed it with oranges. Then, I went outside to the club and stood like this (gesturing at her chest) and said, ‘I am 18, can I go in’. A guy kept looking at me.”
“My mom got so upset with me, my god, she got really upset,” Preity mentioned.

Kangana Ranaut recently took to social media to mourn the sad demise of her nani Indrani Thakur, who was more than 100 years-old.On Saturday, the actress revealed that the whole family is grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother, who played a significant role in her life. Kangana posted an unseen photo of her sitting with her Nani and wrote, “Last night, my grandmother Indrani Thakur Ji passed away. The whole family is in mourning. Please pray for her.”
In her next-follow up post, Ranaut reminisced about how her Nani had tirelessly worked to ensure that her daughters were not only educated but were empowered to pursue successful careers after marriage.
She wrote, “My Nani was a remarkable woman, she had 5 children. Nana ji had limited resources, yet she made sure all of her children got high education in good institutions, and she insisted that even her married daughters should work and have a careers of their own; even her daughters got government jobs a rare feat in those days, all of her 5 children, including women, had their own careers, she was very proud of her children careers.”
The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress went on to add, “We owe so much to our nani ji, she was 5 feet 8 inches tall, very rare for a mountain woman, I got her height and her health and metabolism. My Nani ji was so healthy and lively that even though she was above 100 years old she did all her work by herself.”

Hoey, 29, arrived in Mexico without any concerns about his playing status where he is ranked 85th in what his rookie season. He earned his 2024 PGA TOUR card by finishing top-30 on the Korn Ferry Tour last season where he notched seven top-10s, including a win at the Visit Knoxville Open. His first season on TOUR has allowed him to compete on many golf courses for the first time, and he has found himself enjoying his trip to El Cardonal.
“I like the layout, it’s fun, there’s a lot of good holes that you have to drive it well,” he said. “I just tried hitting it lower and luckily I hit the right shots. Just keep sticking to the game plan, listen to my caddie, Brian and we’ll go from there.”
Suicide blast at Quetta Railway Station kills dozens in Balochistan
Quetta, Nov 9 (IANS) At least 24 people have been killed in Pakistan while over 50 others are injured at the Quetta Railway Station after a suspected suicide bomber exploded when passengers were gathering for the departure of a train to Peshawar.
“Around 100 people were present at the railway station when the blast occurred. Till now, 24 people have been confirmed dead while over 50 are injured. The blast occurred on the platform as passengers gathered for the departure of Jaffar Express. The train was to depart from Quetta to Peshawar,” said Quetta Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mohammad Baloch.
The injured have been taken to Civil Hospital Quetta, while the rescue and law enforcement teams reached the blast site and cordoned off the area.
An emergency has been declared at the hospital in Balochistan’s provincial capital Quetta. The Medical Superintendent at the Civil Hospital said that the dead included women and children.
“46 wounded were brought to the hospital for urgent treatment. Many of the injured are in critical condition,” said the Medical Superintendent.
Police said that the blast may have been a suicide bombing as the explosion happened at the time when a high number of passengers were gathering at the platform to board the train to Peshawar at 9 a.m.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti termed the tragic incident as a “horrific act targeting innocent civilians,” condemning the incident and ordering an immediate inquiry and investigation.
“Terrorists are increasingly targeting ordinary civilians, labourers, women and children. Those responsible would be pursued relentlessly,” said Chief Minister Balochisan Sarfaraz Bugti.
Balochistan has been under an intensified attack by militants, who have been targeting security forces, locals and people from other ethnicities in a series of deadly blasts, posing a major threat of unrest and chaos spread across Pakistan’s most vulnerable province hit by terror.
A few days back, at least five children were among the nine people killed, along with 17 others injured when a roadside bomb targeting a vehicle of security forces who were going for security of polio health workers, exploded in Mastung district of Balochistan.
Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces have been the epicentre of violence, terror and unrest as militant groups continue to carry out multiple attacks and claim lives of security personnel and other civilians including women and children.
Pakistan claims that the unrest in both provinces is due to the support and facilitation these groups enjoy from across the border in Afghanistan, and calls on the Afghan Taliban to ensure a crackdown against these groups instead of harbouring them to spread unrest and terror across the border.
Cambodia marks 71st anniversary of Independence Day
Phnom Penh, Nov 9 (IANS) Cambodia on Saturday commemorated the 71st anniversary of its independence from the French colonial rule.
The celebration was held under the auspices of the nation’s King Norodom Sihamoni and was attended by Prime Minister Hun Manet, Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and National Assembly President Khuon Sudary.
Representatives of foreign diplomatic corps were also among thousands of participants at the one-hour event held at the Independence Monument in the capital Phnom Penh, Xinhua news agency reported.
During the commemoration, Sihamoni laid a wreath and lit the ceremonial victory fire inside the Independence Monument to symbolise the country’s independence.
In a text posted on his official social media platforms on Saturday, Hun Sen said that November 9 reminded people of a noble mission launched by late Cambodian King Father Norodom Sihanouk to demand independence from the French colony.
“King Norodom Sihanouk, the Father of Independence, had sacrificed both physical and mental energies in his royal crusade to gain full independence for Cambodia,” he said.
At the end of the celebration, pigeons and balloons were released as a sign of independence and freedom.
The Southeast Asian nation gained its independence on November 9, 1953, after 90 years of the French colonial rule.
