‘Kumari Srimathi’ Trailer: Entertaining Family Drama!
The teaser of Nithya Menen’s upcoming web series ‘Kumari Srimathi’ has already generated a lot of buzz. Now, the makers released the official trailer which gives us an idea of what to expect from this series which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 28th September. It is produced under the prestigious ‘Swapna Cinema’ banner.
Srinivas Avasarala has written and created this series while Gomtesh Upadhye has directed it. With a unique and empowering story, Kumari Srimathi shows the challenges faced by a strongminded woman in a comic way. She plays the title role where she is seen as an independent girl who wants to buy back her ancestral home from her uncle. But she couldn’t do it due to her financial situation. She only wants to marry after buying back that house and plans to start a bar in order to earn more money. This leads to a lot of drama among the family members and the entire village. Gauthami will be seen as Nithya Menen’s mother.
The series is going to be filled with a lot of entertaining moments and good emotions. It is definitely the best pick for family audiences. Mohan Krishna is taking care of cinematography. Things took a drastic turn in recent times as the High Court ordered actor Navdeep to appear in front of the Narcotics Bureau. The ‘Chandamama’ actor was served notices under Section 41A CrPC. He will be questioned on 23rd September and things are expected to take a big turn as Tollywood insiders feel that it is creating panic among a few.
If Navdeep fails to show up in front of the Narcotics Bureau of Hyderabad, and the police, reports suggest that he may get arrested. While they wanted him to ask about narcotics and other unallowed isotropic substances, his statements in recent times on social media platforms have misled the public and this is leading to new doubts according to a few.
The actor is expected to face the music from the officials. We have seen a few years back how the government officials questioned a lot of Tollywood celebrities including Puri Jagannadh, Charmme, Ravi Teja, Subbaraj, Tarun, Rakul Preet and others. The tollywood film fraternity is worried that the same situation might happen once again if things do not go as planned. Being called up by the Narcotics Bureau again and again sheds a bad light on the film industry.

Many say that a new movement has started in the TDP and the movement is dubbed as Junior NTR movement. People might wonder what JR NTR has to politics as he has been keeping his distance. We have to look into the issue of why NTR is being talked about at this crucial juncture.
Everyone knows that the Telugu Desam Party was floated by senior NTR who is the flagbearer of the Nandamuri family. He ventured into politics and shined with his glamour and passion to serve the people. After the TDP went into the hands of Chandrababu, there is no glamour for TDP and Chandrababu has been running the party with his glamour.
However, Chandrababu is in prison now. There is a lack of leadership and navigation. Now it is said that TDP sympathisers are thinking the party can only sustain if Jr NTR joins the party. A discussion is said to be going on among the young TDP leaders on this.
Chandrababu has been arrested already. Many say that the chances of coming out are very low if Lokesh also gets arrested. Young TDP leaders are alleging that efforts are being made to see that Chandrababu remains in prison by filing one after the other case.
It is said that many think, Brahmani might not be allowed to come out even if she is made the chief. On the other hand, there is another version that says that by the time Brahmani starts her work, it will be too late. The party activists and young leaders are said to be thinking that saving TDP is more important than Chandrababu’s political legacy.
They reportedly think that, rather than giving the responsibility to others, it would be good to give the responsibility to Jr NTR. They hope that TDP will have any issues for at least 30 years if Jr NTR takes the responsibility.
The young TDP cadre in the villages strongly thinks that the party can sustain only if Jr NTR comes. They are also seeing this as a serious analysis. Many say that instead of focusing only on the Nara family and damaging the party, TDP will fly high if the responsibility is given to Jr NTR, the Nandamuri scion.
The seniors in the party might be keeping the truth aside on the issue due to their ties with Chief Chandrababu. But the same is not the case with youth and they want the party to become strong. They are saying that NTR should come forward.
On the other hand, there is no change in the image despite Lokesh’s padayatra. Chandrababu’s age is also a question here. The hardcore activists ask how long the party can be saved by getting help from other parties. They are also mentioning that NTR took the party towards victory for three terms.
They are also that the same legacy is possible with only NTR Jr. The supporters also say that there will be a big josh if the responsibility is given to NTR and there is no other leader to lock horns with a strong party like YCP. The demand to invite NTR has become a movement. But we have to see what reaction will come from NTR. There is also a debate on what would happen with TDP which is run by the Nara family.

One filmi family that never disappoints the media is the Manchu family. The family is in the news all the time for some reason or the other. It’s not just their films and their personal lives that make the news. Even their political choices make news in the Telugu states. The latest Manchu family member to make news is the already newsworthy Manchu Lakshmi.
The buzz is that Manchu Lakshmi got a call from the Prime Minister’s Office and that she has gone to Delhi to meet the officials. The Manchu lady tweeted that the Delhi vibes were wonderful. This tweet of hers added grist to the rumour mill with pundits suspecting that Manchu lady was offered an MP ticket to contest from one of the two Telugu states.
In fact, Lakshmi has good relations with Narendra Modi. During the 2014 election campaign, she organised a meeting of film personalities with Modi in Hyderabad’s Park Hyatt. Later too, she met Modi a couple of times. While nothing has been confirmed so far, the buzz is refusing to die.
If this happens, almost every member of the Manchu family is in a different political party. Dad Mohan Babu had been in and out of the TDP and was a Rajya Sabha member for a term. Now, he is with the YSRCP. Manchu Vishnu is married to Veronica, who belongs to the YSRCP family. Manchu Manoj is married to a girl from Bhuma family, which is in the TDP. If Manchu Lakshmi joins the BJP, then the family has someone from almost every major party.
