Actor Kabir Duhan Singh, known for playing antagonist in films such as “Jil” and “Vedalam”, says he thoroughly enjoyed playing a boxer in upcoming Telugu action-comedy “Tuntari”.

He said it was his dream role.

“I’m a huge fan of Mike Tyson and always wanted to play a boxer. This role has come at the right time. It’s my dream role and I totally enjoyed playing it,” Kabir told IANS.

The remake of Tamil film “Maan Karate” is directed by Kumar Nagendra and it also stars Nara Rohit and debutante Latha Hegde.

Kabir underwent a crash course in boxing.

“I trained with some professionals for nearly a week just to get the basics right. Unlike a regular villain’s role, this one has got to do a lot with fighting like professionals in a ring,” he said.

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, who plays a quadriplegic bound to a wheelchair in upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual “Oopiri”, says the role took a heavy toll on him as it required him to sit in one place and emote.

“An assistant director was appointed just to check if I was moving my hands or legs even slightly while on the wheelchair. If I did, they’d re-shoot the scene again, as many times as it required. It was extremely challenging, because at times my legs would go numb,” Nagarjuna told IANS.

A remake of French drama “The Intouchables”, the film also stars actors Karthi and Tamannaah Bhatia.

“For the emotional scenes, I told the crew to tie my hands and legs so that they will not move at any cost,” he said, adding that the film high on comedy and won’t reveal why he’s bound to a wheelchair.

“Unlike the original, this is high on comedy drama. It has been tailor-made to suit the sensibilities of Telugu and Tamil audiences,” he added.

In the film, Karthi plays Nagarjuna’s personal caretaker, and the “King” actor said their relationship has been portrayed beautifully.

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the film is slated for worldwide release on March 5.

Nagarjuna also revealed that he will next team up with veteran filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao for a Telugu devotional film.

“I play Baba Hathiram, a disciple of Lord Venkateswara Balaji in the film. Regular shooting stars from April,” he said, hinting that there will also be a sequel to his recent blockbuster “Soggade Chinni Nayana”.

“I’m not sure when the sequel will happen but we’ve already registered the title Bangarraju’,” he said.

She is the beautiful and seductive Shahzahn Padamsee who was seen alongside Ramcharan in ‘Orange’.

As cute as she may look, Shahzahn also has a wild side to her which is seen here. Sporting a lavender frock, Shahzahn seems to be readying to lift it further up to give a proper view of her thighs.

The movie shooting is progressing at Rama Naidu Studios, Nanakramguda. AM Ratnam’s daughter-in-law, Aishwarya is producing the film. Jagapathi Babu will be seen in a vital and positive role in the movie.

Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose the music. New comer Anu Emmanuel is playing the second lead in this film. The film is a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil languages. This is the first attempt of Gopichand in Tamil film industry.

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma recently shifted his base to Mumbai. He is shooting his next project, Vangaveeti there itself. RGV is reportedly getting erected the replicating popular Kaleswara Rao market of Vijayawada as a set in Mumbai.

Ramu is currently shooting for his first international project, Veerappan. After the completion of the film, he will take up the shooting of Vangaveeti which is based on caste politics in Bejawada in 1980s.

Ram Gopal Varma is reportedly considering quitting Telugu film industry after his Vangaveeti. Ramu who recently shifted his base to Mumbai wants to continue in Bollywood further. Ram Gopal Varma also took similar decision after his controversial film Govind Govinda.

He left Telugu films and set base in Hindi cinema. For a long time he did not make any Telugu film. Vangaveeti is reportedly about the rise of Radha and ends with the death of Ranga.

The much talked about Neerja, starring Sonam Kapoor based on the real life story of PanAm flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who saved the lives of many during a hijack, released this week. This Ram Madhvani directorial opened to rave reviews by critics and masses alike.

It’s first day at the box office brought in a good 4.70 cr and now Saturday added another 7.60 cr taking the toll to 12.30 cr.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh too couldn’t stop gushing about the collection.

Adarsh also points out how Neerja saw an upward trend saying, “#Neerja has EXTRAORDINARY growth on Day 2. Metros are ROCKING, while mass circuits, which were slow, are gradually showing upward trend…”

Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan says he is troubled with a mild body ailment which has laid him low. The megastar added that he has been dealing with it for many days now, and hopes to be back on his feet soon.

The cine icon shared through his official blog early on Sunday his health update with his fans and admirers, who he fondly calls his ‘extended family’.

“It is not alarming… but it is… and it puts me horizontal, with minimum movement… and grief… grief for regretting my appearance (sic) at the Zee Awards where I was to present the lifetime award to Veeru Devgn, the master action director, producer and father to our Ajay Devgn,” Big B shared.

The 73-year-old added: “When the body is troubled, so is the mind, so is the soul and so the desire to write to communicate with the loved ones, the Ef… It has been so for many days now and I do feel a disconnect each day, but it shall repair soon I hope and we shall be back to winning ways as they say.”

The actor, who has been part of the film industry for over four decades, went on to appreciate the hard work and dedication of Veeru Devgn, calling him a “care concerned director of stunts”.

The “Piku” star said: “A remarkable life story for Veeru ji… from being another stuntman to where he ended and the numerous highlights that his career exhibited…

“Veeru-ji matured soon enough from this scenario to an action director then he became a producer and eventually directed a film which I worked in too… but my association with him was through those millions of film moments, which I worked with him in all and most of my action sequences.”

Amitabh also shared that “He was a care concerned director of stunts… he never put his artists in any kind of trouble or strain and was very good in its execution.”

On the professional front, after an action thriller film “Wazir”, Amitabh is prepping up for Ribhu Dasgupta’s “Te3N”.

It is confirmed that Naga Chaitanya will be teaming up with Soggade Chinni Nayana director, Kalyan Krishna for his next project after the release of Premam. Nagarjuna himself confirmed about this the other day in Soggade Chinni Nayana Success Meet.

Annapurna Studios will be producing the film. Premam is being planned for July 7th release as Eid Special which means this new project will go on floors in August if every thing goes as per plan. Kalyan Krishna is currently busy in the script work.

He will also work with Nagarjuna for the prequel of Soggade Chinni Nayana. The film is titled ‘Bangarraju’. Annapurna Studios recently registered ‘Bangarraju’ title with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.

Soggade Chinni Nayana ended up as the biggest hit among the films of the Senior heroes and that makes Kalyan Krishna a hot property in Tollywood. But Nagarjuna made sure that he is locked in Annapurna Studios.

Rockstar Manchu Manoj is currently busy giving final touches to his next project, Shourya which will see the light on 4th of next month. On the other side, the pre-production works of his next project are going on. Ramesh Puppala will be producing the film on his Yellow Flowers Banner.

Yellow Flowers Production House recently registered a title ‘Rambo’ with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. This title is reportedly for Manchu Manoj’s project. The director’s name and the other details and technicians names will be announced after the release of Shourya. Manoj will shift his focus on to this project once he completes Shourya promotions.

Besides these projects, Manoj has one more film, Attack in the direction of Ram Gopal Varma. The movie shooting was completed a long ago. And for some reason, the movie is lying in cans since then with out release. The movie will also release some time in the next few months.

Allu Arjun scored his first blockbuster Arya under Dil Raju’s banner and later did Parugu , which was also a hit.

Allu Arjun used to say Sri Venkateswara Creations is like his home banner. But for some reason Allu Arjun has been staying away from Dil Raju despite being chased by the latter.

Allu Arjun didn’t show interest to do Vasu Varma’s Lover. He rejected Krishnashtami script and turned down Subramanyam For Sale.

Looks like Allu Arjun is first choice for most of Dil Raju’s projects. Bunny is a smart hero who picks the right films. Rejecting Krishnashtami proved right again.

Dil Raju somehow is unable to get the dates of star heroes lately. He is trying to play it safe with small films and medium budget movies.

The strategy is not yielding the desired results though. He is hoping to bounce back with Supreme slated for summer release.

Since Manam, Nagarjuna seem to be a different actor. He is putting lot of effort in choosing different subjects and is also toiling hard to execute them perfectly. His next film, Oopiri is a bilingual and is titled Thozha in Tamil. He is dubbing for the Tamil version as well and it is his first time doing that.

The First Look Teaser of Nagarjuna and Karthi’s Oopiri was out the other day and it received superb response from all quarters. The audio release event of Oopiri will take place on February 28th and that will kick start the film promotions. Oopiri/Thozha are being planned for March 25th release.
