Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says Indian film industry is an colourful example of ‘Make in India’ initiative, as it crosses borders and takes the culture to every part of the world. The 50-year-old “Chennai Express” star said, “When we talk about ‘Make in India’ we talk about the kind of stuff we do in the country. Somewhere, perhaps selfishly so, I do feel the Indian film industry does stand for something specifically and very beautifully, Make in India,” Shah Rukh said.

He was speaking at the launch of coffee table book of ASSOCHAM, ‘Digitisation and mobility of media and entertainment’. Shah Rukh said the film industry takes our culture forward in it’s own “mad” and “colourful” way. “It does take us across borders, tell people about our culture, talks about our music and somewhere down the line spreads the word for what India stands for, in its own
sometimes mad, sometimes colourful and sometimes in a little over the top way.”

The “Happy New Year” actor also hoped that the film industry becomes far sighted and cracks the code of international markets. “We all have been struggling for years to think of the film as an industry be as organised be as far sighted, visionary as most of you in the room. Through our Punjabi films, Hindi films, Bengali films and others, we hope that someday we do crack the code in terms of international viewership.” Shah Rukh will be next seen opposite Kajol in “Dilwale” which release on December 18.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has described the victory of TRS candidate P. Dayakar in by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha as historic. Addressing a crowded press conference at TRS headquarters Telangana Bhavan after the declaration of results, Kcr said although winning or losing a by-election was a routine affair in politics, TRS candidate has created history by winning with a thumping majority leading to forfeit of deposits of Congress and BJP candidates. He said that the results have increased the responsibilities on the TRS Government. He said that the party would continue its journey to victory in Narayankhed Assembly by-elections and GHMC polls. Kcr claimed that TRS got 100% percent positive votes in Warangal by-elections and they reflect people’s satisfaction over the performance of State Government. He said that the erosion of opposition parties’ traditional votes was a matter of concern for them. He said although the opposition parties made several attempts to defame the TRS Government, people of Warangal were impressed with the welfare schemes and their effective implementation. He said that the opposition parties should stop criticising the State Government and start playing a constructive role. He said opposition leaders have become habitual of criticising every action of the State Government.

The Chief Minister claimed that Telangana has emerged as a welfare State where Rs. 33,000 crore were being spent on different schemes. He pointed out that the pension amount for Old Age people, Physically Handicapped and Widows was increased from Rs. 200 and Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1500. Fine rice is being supplied in all hostels and all categories of consumers were being supplied power for 24 hours. He said a target of irrigation on one crore acres of land till 2021 has been set. To achieve the target, he said the designs of present irrigation projects were being modified. Kcr said unlike previous governments, which confined the irrigation project to files, the TRS Government would complete all the irrigation projects on time. He said that the Mission Kakatiya has revived thousands of small lakes and ponds. The Chief Minister said that the process of division of employees would be completed within a week and it would be followed by filling up of vacancies in different departments. He said that the scheduled for DSC exams would be issued in the next 10-15 days to fill 20,000 posts of teachers. If the buzz from the tinsel town is to be believed, Prince Mahesh has reportedly shown a welcoming gesture towards the producer Radhakrishna. According to the reports Radhakrishna of Haarika and Hassine Creations wanted to produce a movie with Mahesh as the hero in his banner. Ace director Trivikram was considered to be the director of the film. As per the schedule, the movie could have been launched sometime around in 2016. The producer is rumoured to have paid Rs.10 crores advance to Mahesh for this project.

However, everything has not gone well with the project. Trivikram is reportedly showing keen interest on an undisclosed project while Mahesh has committed Murugadoss’ project which is to be launched in the early first half of 2016. Having understood his project with Trivikram and Radhakrishna’s combo can’t be materialized in near future, Mahesh is gossiped to have given back the advance of Rs.10 crores to the producer. If at all this gossip is to be believed, it would certainly be considered as a welcoming gesture from Mahesh.

The return of the ‘click-n-print’ camera

Fuji Instax Mini 70_0

“Why can’t I see them now?” a little girl asked her father. She wondered why it took so long to develop and print photos she had taken with her box camera. Dr Edwin Land went on to co-found the Polaroid Corporation and in 1948 answered his daughter’s wish — by inventing the Land self-developing camera, which produced a print 60 seconds after you took a picture. Polaroid has remained a synonym for instant-print cameras for 60 years, till the company went bankrupt in 2008, killed by digital and mobile phone cameras. The Japanese film company Fuji, however retained faith in instant cameras and continued to produce them under the brand Instax. Now incredibly, they are making a comeback worldwide: There are enough people who want to ‘see them now’ and hold a print in their hands, rather than posting then on Instagram. They are very handy for creating quick Photo IDs and restaurants use them as keepsake giveaways for customers. And here’s irony for you! Fuji makes Polaroid-branded Snap instant cameras for PLR IP Holdings, the company that was born out of the ashes of the original Polaroid and now offers a range of handy still and video cameras and printers.

In India, Fuji has been marketing a slate of Instax Mini cameras for almost a year now. The latest that I have been trying out is the Instax Mini 70, a chunky device with (what else!) a special selfie button as well as close-up macro and landscape modes and a self timer. Cameras have become a lot smarter since the early instamatics — and the Mini 70 is very good at figuring out the right exposure. Fuji sells the instant film in packs of 10 (a twin pack costs $20 or about Rs 1,000) and it is a cinch to slot in a pack into the camera. Shoot your pic and the photo rolls out — taking about 40-50 seconds to develop. The word ‘mini’ relates to the instaprint size — 6.2 x 4.6cm (2.5-inch by 1.8-inch) or the size of a credit card. The Mini 70 costs Rs 11,500. There are other models from Rs 6,441 to Rs 10,999.
For those who want to use the camera on their phones, Fuji offers the Instax Share Smartphone printer SP1 which takes the same 10-print pack of film.

It sets up its own Wi-Fi link to your phone and once you have installed the free Android or iOS app, you can click on the phone to wirelessly take a print. Both the printer and the Mini camera work off two CR2 batteries supplied. The printers is priced Rs 14,500. I loved the detailed instructions that come with both Fiji products– clearly written with dummies in mind!Polaroid has also launched an instant wireless printer in India. The Zip smartphone printer links to the phone either via Bluetooth pairing or by NFC (you place the phone on the printer) and uses a USB cable for charging its built-in battery. You can load the sheets of Zink — zero ink — photo paper into the printer and use the Zip app to print in much the same way as the Instax printer. It costs Rs 13,350, but uses more area of the paper to provide a 2 inch by 3 inch print, while Fuji leaves space to add your titles and notes.

Boyapati Confirmed for Balakrishna 100th Film

boyapati-confirmed-for-balakrishna-100th-film_b_2411150557

All of a sudden, there is fresh buzz began to surround Nandamuri Balakrishna’s milestone 100th film in spite of a known fact that he is presently occupied with 99th project ‘Dictator’ in direction of Sriwass. Yes, Balayya’s 100th film is reported to get its launch on June 10th of 2016 which happens to be the birthday of our hero.

With no surprises, none other than Boyapati Srinu is going to be the director. In fact, this action loving director who earlier delivered two stupendous hits ‘Simha, Legend’ for Nata Simham is sitting on the script work from last few months. As soon as Boyapati completes ‘Sarainodu’ with Allu Arjun, the next task is already assigned and he will jump on to the untitled 100th.

While there were random speculations in Nandamuri Fans circles about SS Rajamouli can be the best director to handle Balayya but nothing of such sorts happened because Balayya promised Boyapati and stood on his word. Undoubtedly, the budget and scale of this venture will be very big and this can be the real challenge before director and hero.

Anushka Size Zero Censor Certification

Most glamorous and star heroine Anushka’s new film ‘Size Zero’ has got different kind of response from Regional Censor Boards of Telugu and Tamil. With the film nearing to release in next couple of days, producer Prasad V Potluri has arranged for Censor Certification and cleared all the formalities to go for a smooth release.

While the Telugu version of ‘Size Zero’ is issued U/A Certificate, the Tamil version titled as ‘Inji Iduppazagi’ is given a clean U certificate. While reasons behind such different of opinions from two boards is still unknown, some sources revealed that Sonal Chauhan’s glamour show and a lip kiss of hero Arya with heroine Anushka might have forced them to go for U/A.

Anyways, this also indicates that fewer portions of ‘Size Zero’ might be treated differently in both Telugu and Tamil versions. Apparently, Anushka remains the central attraction of film and the crowd puller for this entertaining flick.

TRS Retains Warangal Lok Sabha Seat

Trs candidate Pasnuri Dayakar registered a historic victory in the by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha seat whose results were announced on Tuesday.

Dayakar has broken all records in Telangana and have defeated his rivals with a majority, which is fifth highest in the country. Dayakar secured 615,403 while his nearest rival Sarve Satyanarayana of Congress got 156,315 votes followed by BJP candidate Dr. P. Devaiah who got 130,178. Therefore, he won the by-elections with a majority of 459,092 votes which is far higher than the majority of 392,574 secured by his predecessor Kadiyam Srihari in 2014 general elections. Both, the Congress and BJP candidates, lost their deposits along with 20 others who were in fray. The YSRCP candidate got mere 23,222 votes.

Although the Warangal by-elections was considered a multi-cornered contest, the results have proved that it was one-sided affair for ruling Trs with Dayakar getting a clear and huge lead in all 22 rounds of counting.
