Telangana Chief Minister KCR, who is synonymous for word ‘spendthrift’ for his lavish spending on unnecessary things during his 17-month rule, suddenly started preaching about ‘saving money’ and curbing ‘wasteful expenditure’ in government departments.

KCR convened a meeting with officials in Chief Minister’s Office and finance department in Secretariat recently. Some ministers were also present in the meeting.

The words coming out from the mouth of KCR in the meeting such as’ financial discipline’, ‘saving money’, ‘wasteful expenditure’, ‘judicious spending’ for the first time, shocked officials and ministers.

At one point of time, they could not believe their ears and wondered whether it was a real meeting or they were dreaming.

After taking some minutes to recover from the preaching of KCR, the ministers and officials are said to have nodded their head and vowed to spend judiciously and avoid wasteful expenditure.

After they came out of the meeting, some ministers and officials were seen discussing why they were shocked at KCR’s preaching on saving money because it reminded them of KCR spending nearly Rs 10 crore to new Toyota Prados in his convoy when the existing Toyota Fortuners were brought just a few month

He purchased Rs 1 crore worth bullet-proof fire fighter vehicle and added to his convoy. Later he purchase Rs 5 crore worth Mercedes Benz luxury bus. Spent tens of crores of rupees on the name of ‘vastu’ changes in Secretariat and his camp office, Begumpet.

Not to mention about awarding crores to sportpersons like Sania Mirza for winning medals for herself in professional tennis tournaments and not representing either Telangana or India in those tournaments.

Such a lavish-spending man he is, KCR talking about ‘financial discipline’ and curbing ‘wasteful expenditure’ all of a sudden could not be digested by ministers and officials and but as the popular saying goes “Boss is always right”, everyone nodded their head in acceptance.

Fear Of Anti-Mani Sentiment?

Some time back, Mani Ratnam made a hit film titled Ok Bangaram. The film became a hit both in Telugu and Tamil.

A love story, Mani Ratnam styled it for today’s generation and the film worked well at the box office. Now, talk is that the film could be made in Bollywood too.

However, Mani Ratnam will not be directing the film. The film, if it happens, will be directed by Shaad Ali. But there is a little twist to the story here.

While Ok Bangaram was liked by the south audiences, the subject or the treatment may or may not be liked by the Hindi audiences.

Well, in the past, Shaad Ali, who trained under Mani Ratnam, had remade Sakhi as Saathiya in Hindi. But then, the film was not as big hit as Sakhi and this time too, there are fears of anti-Mani working at box office.

If Shaad Ali decides to go ahead with the film, then it remains to be seen how the audiences will accept the film.

Kumari 21F is doing wonders at the box office with youth thronging to the theaters in big numbers. This film is sure to cross 10 crore mark by the end of its first week say trade sources.

Sukumar the writer and producer of Kumari 21F is walking away with all the praise and appreciation. However the sad truth behind Kumari 21F is it’s a copied story.

Sukumar has copied the basic plot of Kumari 21F from a French film Lila Says (French title: Lila dit ça) that was released in 2004. This French film is based upon a book named Chimo. Someone from the social media who has seen the French film has exposed this truth and the news is spreading like wild fire.

The ending of Kumari is inspired by an Argentine film Secret In Their Eyes! So Sukumar has made a cocktail out of few foreign films and has written a story that appeals to today’s youth.

Copying or getting inspired from other language movies is sort of a norm in film industry. General audience doesn’t care about these things if they get their ticket’s worth of entertainment.

While people who knew about the original keep whining about it Sukumar will smile all the way to the banks.
