Maniacal violence being caused by terrorist outfits across several global countries has been causing grief and  a great sense of despair among the global citizens. However, even in the times of terror, a man in Beirut, Lebanon showed impeccable courage and selfless humanity at the brink of death.

Last week, just a day before the horrific Paris massacre, suicide bombers struck big in Beirut killing 45 and leaving more than 200 civilians wounded. However, the death toll would have increased much higher if not for the heroic actions of one man. Adel Termos sacrificed his life to save others, with his daughter watching him die.

Adel and his daughter were walking in a market when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives. Chaos and tense situation prevailed immediately and civilians started running frantically to save their lives. That was when Adel noticed another suicide bomber readying to blow himself up. Without wasting a minute, Adel jumped on the terrorist and brought him onto the ground.

Adel lost his life along with the bomber but saved the lives of his own daughter and several others. Soon, Adel Termos turned a national hero with local and international media hailing his heroic and a selfless sacrifice.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, this film will see Bhumika playing a limited yet crucial role in the film. We don’t know the real life role she’s portraying in this Neeraj Pandey directorial, but she confirmed signing the film.

That would be Bhumika’s comeback to Hindi films after a long break, while that would be official signal that she’s ready for second stint in movies.

Buzz: Chiru Worries Going Against Media

0

chiru32

Megastar Chiranjeevi needs some image makeover, to make people forget his bitter political stint and comeback to films roaring. As we advised him already to ‘change’ and pick a script soon, a birdie close to mega camp revealed why the most celebrated matinee idol is unable to take a decision about “Kathhi” remake.

Looking from the surface, Kathhi story looks like a war waged against a corporate company which forcefully starts grabbing lands of farmers and sucks their ground water dry. But if we look the story into a little depth, more than this land grabbing issue its about the insensitivity of media that is dealt with by Vijay and his director AR Murugadoss. On two counts, media gets fooled for their sensational news craving mindsets. And this is what worried Chiranjeevi.

Happenings like MSOs blocking TV channels and few channels continuing to wage war against ruling governments, Chiranjeevi can’t stand chance to turn almost all the media houses against him by doing Kathhi, the source shared. So, if you are both actor and politician, then it’s a rope walk with single leg.

‘Only two percent Indians saw ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in theatres’

Kochi: Superstar Salman Khan’s blockbuster “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, which raked in over Rs.300 crore at the Indian box office, has been watched by a mere two percent of approximately 130 crore Indian population in theatres, says a cinema chain official. According to reports, a staggering 74.5 million people, across India, tuned into the TV premiere of the film last month. But in a session on increasing footfalls in theatres at the ongoing Indywood Film market, it was revealed that only three crore and 21 lakh people have so far watched Bollywood blockbuster “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” in cinemas. “It’s startling to know only two percent of India’s population has watched the film, which has collected over Rs.300 crore from Indian theatres. Even if we can increase the footfalls to five percent, it will hugely benefit the overall revenue of Indian cinema,” said P.V. Sunil, director and CEO of Carnival Cinemas.

The reason, as Sunil points out, is that 50 percent of Indian population still has no access to cinemas.
“Seven screens cater to one million people in India vis-a-vis over 100 screens in US. As of today, only 15 percent of total screens in India constitute multiplexes while the rest are still single screen cinemas. Despite being the largest producer of films in the world, India still struggles to generate revenue because most people still have no access to screens,” he said. According to Devang Sampat, business head – strategy, Cinepolis India, one of the best ways to increase footfalls is to target tier-2, tier-3 and even tier-4 cities. “We were the first to open a four-screen multiplex in Patna. The response has been extremely good and its average ticket price is same as that of Mumbai’s. This means there are people with high spending capacity even in smaller cities,” he said.

Sampat also pointed out that most multiplexes rely on malls, which is not a healthy trend. “In places like Madhya Pradesh, people literally travel 50 km to watch movies. Why not we take the screens to them? Why not build multiplexes in these places? Indians don’t watch cinema for entertainment; it’s a culture for us,” he added. Technology too is a key driver in increasing footfalls, believes Sohan Roy, founder chairman and CEO of Aries Group of Companies. Roy is also the chief promoter of AriesPlex SL Cinemas, which is south India’s first double 4K projection facility here. “Take the case of ‘Baahubali’, which ran houseful for 15 weeks in our cinemas. It was screened in 4K projection and the audience loved the experience. They watched it more than once. Technology plays a pivotal in drawing audiences for the overall experience in a cinema hall,” Roy said.

prabhas-che guevera-okka-adugu

Baahubali broke many records in the history of Telugu cinema and also in Indian cinema. Well, though many big budget films are being made in various languages with top stars, directors and crew, none of them have crossed the mark set by Baahubali. The film released in six languages and it made Rs 62 crores on the very first day.
