I did Kumari F21 for Sukumar: Hebah Patel
Kumari F21 is just her second film and Hebah Patel is thrilled that it’s a women-based title. “I’ve never heard of a heroine-based title in any Telugu film, that itself is a big achievement for me,” says Hebah. Her first Telugu project Ala Ela was a small but successful film. “Sukumar sir saw my first Telugu film and offered this film,” she added. She says she accepted the film without even knowing her character because of Sukumar. “Yes, I signed without a second thought. When I heard the story, I knew I had to do it whether it was difficult or easy. I was happier when I heard that Devi Sri Prasad was the music director. I am glad that I got to work with many good technicians so early in my life,” she adds.
The makers had originally announced the film with another actress at the time of its launch. “Yes, I know about it,” says Hebah, adding, “It’s not a problem for me. In the end, it counts who is on screen; it’s not a big deal even if they had selected 10 girls before me.” Director Surya Pratap says that the female lead character is a “bold” one. Hebah says, “Bold is a very subjective term. It can be seen as a ‘good bold’. It’s not as if I have done very bold scenes. My character is bold as she is not shy and demure, but very outgoing and she loves unconditionally and expects the same from the guy.” Hebah plays a struggling model in the film. “This is not a completely women-oriented film. This is a coming-of-age love story and will mainly attract the youth, especially lovers,” says the actress. “There are a few projects in the pipeline, but I can’t talk about them as they are still in the discussion stage,” Hebah adds.

Rana lands in a controversial film
If the latest buzz in the Kollywood grapevines is to be believed, Tollywood’s macho hunk Rana Daggubati has landed in the first and the most controversial film in his career. Apparently, Rana has been signed by Tamil director Bala, who is well known for his ultra naturalistic films like Siva Putrudu, Nenu Devunni, Vaadu Veedu etc, for a multi-starrer.
The controversial film in question is said to be based on a popular Tamil novel titled Kuttra Parambarai. The film’s story dates back to pre-independence times and the novel raked up a huge controversy in the past. Tamil media houses are wondering whether the censor board will even clear this film for a public release.
Apart from Rana, this multi-starrer also features Tamil stars like Arvind Swamy, Bala’s favorite actors Arya, Vishal and also Atharvaa of Paradesi fame. Multi-starrers seem to be working wonders for Rana as all his previous multi-starrers like Baby, Baahubali and Dum Maaro Dum won him huge applause.
Kamal Haasan’s film bags international awards
Seems like 2015 have turned out to be a rollicking year for Kamal Haasan. Following the success of Papanasam, his latest outing Cheekati Rajyam, too, has been declared a hit in the box office. His Uttama Villain, which released earlier this year, though a failure venture was widely appreciated by critics. Now, the movie directed by Ramesh Arvind has caught the attention of international audience too. The film which had Kamal essaying dual roles has bagged awards in four categories in the Los Angeles International Film Festival.
The movie has been adjudged as Best Film while Kamal Haasan, Ghibran and Kunal Rajan have been honoured for Best Actor, Best Music Director and Best Sound Design respectively. Ghibran, with whom Kamal has collaborated for four films till date, has also won the Best Music Director award in Russian International Film Festival.
Time for Chiru To Change?
He might be Mega Star of Telugu Cinema and might have ruled the industry for two decades. But after his political debut, things in the industry have changed swiftly. Chiru’s comeback Bruce Lee, where he is seen in cameo, says it all. The film didn’t turn out as expected hinting that Chiru’s charm is not as same as before. On other hand, Chiru is keep on becoming so choosy about his director for his landmark 150th film which is worrying his fans who have been waiting for his 150th for longtime.
Especially, Chiranjeevi dumping director Puri Jagannadh and the manner in which Puri was ousted became talking point in the industry. Even many of Puri’s peers felt that it wasn’t fair for a star of Chiranjeevi’s stature to do so. As soon as Puri is sacked, the immediate name that popped up is VV Vinayak. While Vinayak continue to tight lipped on the issue, reports were rife that he would helm Chiru’s landmark 150.
Now that Vinayak’s directorial Akhil tanked without a trace, it’s unlikely that Chiru would team up with him. In fact, even before Akhil’s release, Vinayak hinted that he wouldn’t direct Chiru. Another ace director in the tinsel town is SS Rajamouli who is riding high by delivering blockbuster Baahubali. Though Rajamouli made Magadheera with Ram Charan, chances are unlikely that he’d direct Chiru’s 150.
Mega camp is of the opinion that Rajamouli would take away the credit even if the film is hit. Also, now that Rajamouli is busy with Baahubali sequel, and announced a spree of projects, Chiru-Rajamouli combination is far from sight. Meanwhile, director Sreenu Vaitla already tasted two back-to-back duds Aagadu, Bruce Lee. So, Vaitla is out of race without a doubt.
Though Chiru is trying to get acclaimed Tamil director Murugadoss for his 150th, it’s seems not happening as the Stalin director is quite occupied. Also, the wide gossip that’s doing the rounds is that top directors are afraid to work with Chiru as he’d give heavy pressure to them and little freedom.
Not just top directors, even top technicians seem to have scared to work with Chiru who is tough taskmaster. So, many industry big wigs opine that Chiru should change a little bit and should become little flexible so that directors would come up to work with the yesteryear star. Looks like, it’s time for Chiru to change.
PRDP tickets sold out, Fan commits suicide
A maha bhakth of Salman hanged himself, as he couldn’t get the ticket for Prem Rathan Dhan Payo. This happened on the 12 of November. Apparently this huge fan of Salman wanted to watch the movie first day, first show but was denied the ticket as they were all sold out.
Disappointed on learning it, he got in to a row with the theater staff and Manager but that too did not fetch him a ticket. So he returned back home and hung himself, ending life. This sad incident came to light in Bajrang Nagar, Madhya Pradesh.
The increasing craze for hero-worships is doing no good to the common man. Love for art and craft is good, Following an actor for their good deed or liking one for their performance is fine too but ending life as one could not get to watch the movie, that’s shocking isn’t it?
Aadi is ready with Garam
Young actor Aadi is all set to come up with his seventh film, Garam. Madan is directing the film and Aadi’s father, popular actor Sai Kumar, is producing it. “This is a good subject and I am confident about director Madan,” says Aadi.
“I would reach home after shooting and see my parents calculating the expenses. Then I realised how difficult a producer’s job is and my father’s a producer so I understand. Today, the film industry relies on many good producers because of their effort,” says Aadi.
Adah Sharma is playing the female lead opposite him in Garam, which is set to release in December.
Micromax Canvas Lapbook: Portable pleasure
To be productive on the hoof, presents a peculiar challenge: If you go for pocket sized, feather weight devices, you severely limit the applications that you can port. If you want the full desktop experience on the move, be prepared for some heavy lifting. I was elated, when smart phones and tablets came with quad and octa-core chips under the belt and the consequent ability to do a lot of PC things — word processing, spread sheets, presentations….. But the euphoria was premature. The shrunken keypads challenged my slow and fat fingers. I longed for a light weight compute device with enough processing muscle for a standard Office suite and a standard keyboard — at a price that is not too far from that of a phone or tablet. I have been looking in vain for a year now — till, this Diwali, Micromax answered my prayers with what a category they call a LapBook: a hybrid of laptop and notebook that is light enough to carry on tours — 1.3 kg — yet with a 11.6 inch 720 p HD screen and good twin speaker sound for viewing movies — with the latest Windows 10 OS pre installed.
I should mention upfront that the asking price of the Micromax, Canvas Lapbook L1161 was so attractive — Rs 13,999 (with Rs 2,000 cashback for SBI Card payments) — that I did something I rarely do: ordered one from Snapdeal based only on the specs — and received it in 72 hours flat. The sturdy packaging, decent sized screen and the standard keyboard were tops on my wish list — so no regrets on that score; but let me level with you on the pluses and minuses after a week’s use: The quad Atom chip is as good as any notebook. The RAM is 2G — par for the course; but the Flash storage is just 32 GB –effectively 28 GB out of which 10 GB has gone in preloaded software like the Windows OS. What is left — 18 GB –is insufficient to load any serious application. I added the max external storage it can take — a micro SD card of 64 GB — and now save all my work on it. The 5000 mAh battery is good for about 10 hours. The front camera is just VGA, not even a megapixel — most phones have better MP ratings. I am thrilled that an Indian maker has stolen a march over so many MNC brands who, three months after the launch of Windows 10 are still palming off Windows 7 machines, leaving the upgrade to you. Microsoft, said at launch that all major outlets and chain electronics shops will do a legal upgrade for free. Forget it; not happening.
The advantage of Win 10 is that if you are cool with Win 8, it looks even better; but if like me, you are used to Win 7, you can switch to a look and feel of the classic Windows. On the downside, the Office 365 is only a trial version and after a few months, you have to subscribe at Rs 420/month — or find an Open Source clone on the web. With 2 USB ports and a HDMI port, Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi, you have enough external connection muscle to match any laptop. I found the Windows 10 startup and shutdown incredibly fast compared to many Android tablets — but you have to keep remembering that that is a device that has very little space on board — everything you need, you grab from the cloud. That said, the L1161 seems to be very good value for money and a sturdy travel companion to boot. If you want a touch screen, The Canvas Laptab LT777 with almost similar specs costs Rs 17,999.
Akhil Second Movie in Kanche Director Krish Hands
Rather than trying for a star image with very first film, Akkineni Nagarjuna could have built a strong footing for Akhil to erect the strong stardom on it. The mistake is committed and there is no way, he can overwrite it. Analyzing the reasons behind, we currently heard some sensational news on Nagarjuna maneuvering to Plan B for better future career of Akhil.
Hurt by the severe public verdict, Akhil is deeply depressed and is fighting very hard to come out of the blues. Good news is, Nagarjuna planning out a combination of Akhil and director Krish for the next to be produced by none other than D Siva Prasad Reddy of Kamakshi Arts Movies. The idea is in basic stages and an official shape would be given only after Krish accepting the deal.
Krish is so familiar for serving real meaningful films. Despite a weak debut of Varun Tej with ‘Mukunda,’ it was Krish bought the charm in Varun out with second film ‘Kanche.’ This intelligently relevant approach of Krish towards new heroes and urge to offer them purposeful characters have concisely built confidence in Nagarjuna to assign Akhil’s second film duty. Let us see, how far this ‘Kanche’ inspiration will help Akhil to forget the past first film memories.
Story Writer Veligonda Srinivas Dumped Akkineni Heroes Twice
If story is the fundamental component to begin the process of making a film project there by preparing the script, then Akkineni family is twice bowled by the fantasy thoughts of story writer Veligonda Srinivas. Thinking high over the regular storylines, Akkineni Nagarjuna forever welcomed new ideas and paid the price for it.
Veligonda Srinivas happens to be the key story supplier for Nagarjuna ‘Damarukam’ and then Akhil debut flick ‘Akhil.’ Unfortunately, both the movies flunked at Box Office in no time after their release. Coincidentally, ‘Damarukam’ faced financial hurdles prior to release while ‘Akhil’ is sure to push its producers and buyers into fiscal turmoil now after the release.
To gauge on qualitative norms, ‘Damarukam’ is somewhere surely a passable product given the lavish VFX, well composed songs and the devotional-fantasy concept close to Telugu hearts in complete contrast to a hopeless ‘Akhil’ which neither had any hold on narration nor a grip on screenplay because everything sensed so feeble. Other than heroes, directors and producers, if there is anyone to take the blame then Veligonda Srinivas is the one to be taken potshots at by Akkineni Fans because he dumped their heroes not ones but twice.
Naga Chaitanya Teams With Trivikram Srinivas
During a recent chit chat, young hero Akkineni Akhil revealed that he loves Trivikram Srinivas films a lot and would surely work with him in near future, as and when the story, script permits. But, here comes contrasting happy news. It’s not Akhil but is his elder brother Naga Chaitanya been the lucky ones to grab the opportunity of working under Trivikram Srinivas direction.
As of now, Chaitu is occupied with ‘Sahasam Swaasagaa Saagipo’ in Gautham Vasudev Menon direction and would then shift to ‘Majnu’ (That is ‘Premam’ remake) in Chandoo Mondeti direction. In parallel, Trivikram is doing ‘A… Aa’ project with Nithin as hero. To our viewers information, for the both ‘A… Aa’ and ‘Majnu’ ventures, it’s the same producer (China Babu) Radha Krishna.
As soon as Chaitu wraps up ‘Majnu’ and Trivikram ‘A… Aa,’ a script with these two as combination is already in preparation stages, said a movie source. When many heroes like Charan, Akhil, Junior NTR are standing in queue for Trivikram Srinivas, it is really awesome for Chaitu to run away with lucky offer.
