Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu is rock solid at the box office. The movie is registering impressive figures even in its second week. On its second Tuesday, the 12th day after the movie release, the movie amassed a little over one crore which is very good. The Mahesh Babu starrer is likely to become the all time second biggest hit in Telugu Cinema by the end of the coming weekend.

Heroine Trisha has now joined the likes of Anushka Sharma and Charmi, as he expresses he readiness to lose money. When everyone thought that this dusky Chennai siren’s career is gone, surprisingly her engagement brought her luck to sign many films in a row. Suddenly she is busy as usual though there are no big stars’ films.

Recently our hottie signed a female centric film titled ‘Naayaki’, which is being produced by her manager Giridhar and directed by new comer Govi. From a time, this bilingual is in production and might release soon. Today Trisha confirmed that she’s ‘presenting’ Naayaki movie. What should we interpret from her revelation, while people like Rana Daggubati commented that the first look is superb?

Insiders revealed that Trisha is not charging a penny for the film and she’s ready to take a cut from the profits. For that reason she’s presenting the movie like what her friend Charmi has done with Jyothi Lakshmi recently. Recently Anushka Sharma did the same with NH10 movie and along with our Charmi she too lost money as these films bombed at box office. Reading these stuff, maybe Trisha is also ready to lose bucks, but hope she gets mind blowing profits by scoring a hit.

Inspired by Amitabh Bachchan’s superhit game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, popular entertainment channel MAA TV successfully aired its Telugu version Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu twice. This life changing game show had the Tollywood’s charming Manmadhudu Nagarjuna as its host.

After the two super successful seasons, Nagarjuna is readying himself to shoot for the third season of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu. As per the buzz, MAA TV will be inviting the participants for selections and Nag will be shooting for a few episodes very soon, while he nears the completion of Soggade Chinni Nayana.

Nagarjuna, as the host of MEK, has been a huge hit among the middleclass families across the Telugu states. The way Nag used to receive, talk and pose questions to the participants, often mixed with humour and humility, touched everyone. So get ready to witness Nag back on the hot seat very soon.

Mass Maharaja Raviteja’s Kick-2 is all set for a grand release this Friday. The movie was completed long ago but was postponed several times. There are rumours difference in the team hampered the movie.

They said Producer Kalyan Ram and director Surender Reddy fought over the movie budget. Raviteja was asked about the issue in one of the promotional interviews of the film. However he refused to divulge about it.

“Please do not ask me about that. I am not the right person to comment on it. Ask the producer”, he said. Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead while Thaman composes the music. Vakkantham Vamsi who penned Kick is also the writer of this film.

This is the first production venture of Kalyan Ram with another hero than himself. It is interesting to note that it is Kalyan Ram who introduced Surrender Reddy with his blockbuster movie, Athanokkade.

As Chiranjeevi’s Birthday is approaching, there is an air of excitement in fans and industry. Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan is planning to host a big party to Chiranjeevi’s peers in Indian Cinema on August 22nd to celebrate the occasion.

We are told that Superstar Rajinikanth is also coming down for the party. They say several big names of Indian cinema confirmed their presence on that day for the party in Hyderabad and it is going to be a big celebration.

On the other side, a day before the Birthday, Chiranjeevi will be celebrating his fans from all the districts of AP and Telangana. Since he will be busy on the Birthday, fans will be celebrating it in districts itself.

Following a long and a relentless battle by the Kollywood’s hero, producer and distributor Udhayanudhu Stalin against the discrimination by the state appointed tax committee while granting the entertainment tax exemption, the Supreme Court has issued a new set of regulations to be followed by the tax  committees.

The Supreme Court’s new protocol says that once the producers submit their application for tax exemption, they should be informed (in first come first serve basis) of their film’s screening within three days. The apex court further said that the committees must send their recommendations to the state governments within a week. The state governments must then take the final decision regarding issuance of tax free certificate within two weeks.

While most Tamil films these days are being awarded tax exemption on a few basic rules like having a Tamil title and getting the U certification from the censor board etc, the situation is quite different in Telugu with very few films being given tax exemption. Most children films and films with a good message like Naa Bangaru Thalli enjoy tax exemption.

In Bollywood too, certain state governments exempt producers from paying the entertainment tax for socially relevant films like the UP government’s orders to except Drishyam producers from paying entertainment tax.

It happens only in Tollywood. One star banks on particular date feeling that there is no competition and many other folks too zero on the same date. It’s Vishnu Manchu who eyed October 2nd for his ‘Dynamite’ release as the holiday season before the festival helps a lot, and now many comets have lined up.

On Dasara eve for October 12/15th, Ram Charan is getting ready to release his 9th film that is being directed by Sreenu Vytla. Then we have Akhil’s debut movie lined up for 21st release. For that reason, Tollywood is considering October 1st/2nd as one big date. After Vishnu Manchu’s ‘Dynamite’ that’s likely to hit on October 1st, young mega hero Varun Tej’s ‘Kanche’ is fixed for the next day.

Many thought that it is a patriotic decision. Following these two, Raghavendra Rao’s son Prakash declared October 2nd as the date for his ‘Size Zero’ that has Anushka playing the lead. Latest entrant into this league is hero Ram, whose ‘Sivam’ carved by newcomer Srinivas Reddy. With four films rushing madly for the same date, we wonder who is going to walkaway with lion share at box office.

In September we have only Rudramadevi set for 4th and Subramanyam For Sale on 24th. Rest of the weeks are free but as there is no holiday season, our heroes are not keen on those dates.

Today, the first look of Hero Ram’s latest movie ‘Sivam’ directed by newcomer Srinivas Reddy and the teasers of Harish Shankar’s ‘Subramanyam For Sale’ featuring Sai Dharam Tej in the lead are released. Of course, one might notice on social circuits that other celebs are busy praising these looks and videos. What’s the reality anyway.

Take hero Ram from any other movie in the recent past like a Ongole Gitta or Masala, he’s the pretty much same on how he looks in Sivam poster. So, what else is new offered here? Hero Sai Dharam Tej reaches Regina’s cheeks through a swing and then the title appears.

Some do call this as youthful, colourful and vibrant family entertainer’s teaser, but what’s new in the teaser? Cinema lovers do feel that Ram’s first look posters and Harish’s teasers are purely routine and utter old-fashioned with just a new title. No doubt, this is a huge disappointment after watching the likes of Baahubali and Srimanthudu on screen.

Anyway, Ram scored a big hit with routine film like Pandaga Chesko and Harish Shankar can’t deviate from formula after biting dust with Ramayya Vastavayya, say cine observers. Hope these films will surprise with their content unlike their first looks.
