Last year by this time we have been discussing about the patriotic short film, shot by creative director Sukumar featuring Allu Arjun. It was released on the even of Independence day, titled “I Am That Change” and features Bunny preaching that one who wants to see change in the society should change himself first.

Treading in a similar path, now it is pop singer Smitha, who is coming up with a short film. Titled “Dying To Be Me”, this short film is being directed by talented director Deva Katta. This will be featured to audiences tomorrow evening. We hear that the film has a social message and it has come out really well.

Every year if Tollywood is coming out with these message oriented films then the way people look at the industry, and people learn from this industry will grow manifold. Lets welcome these fantastic initiatives of our film fraternity.

Both Smitha and Deva Katta have complimented each other for this fantastic short film and we have to wait for tomorrow evening to catch this film.

There is this buzz going on in Film Nagar about the possibility of a former Chief Minister of state acting in an upcoming movie of hero Nikhil. For your information, it’s not any Telugu CM who is said to be getting ready to do the stint. Here goes the detail.

According to buzz, the unit of upcoming flick “Shankarabharanam” that has writer and wannabe director Kona Venkat as the producer, are trying to rope in Bihar Ex Chief Minister Lallu Prasad Yadav to act in a cameo in the film. In fact, the story of this film revolves around a crime comedy in Bihar backdrop.

If not Lallu Prasad Yadav, which former CM will be apt to do a cameo? Anyway, we have to see if there will be any official confirmation about the news, or this is just a rumour. Because, there is no need for a top politician like Lallu, who’s also a scamster, to act in a movie.

On the other hand, the movie is being shot in Bihar and USA and we have to see how Nikhil is going to impress this time. Since Swamy Ra Ra, this youngster started taking up different stories like Karthikeya and enthralling audiences with his subtle acting.

On 12th August 1992, a huge tidal wave in a Vizag beach washed away the young filmmaker Gollapudi Srinivas, son of veteran character actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, during the shooting of his debut film Prema Pusthakam, which was also the debut film of Tamil star Thala Ajith. With this shocking incident, not just a person lost his son but a young man’s dream of becoming a director was nipped in the bud.

Not only Gollapudi Maruthi Rao completed and released his son’s film after the tragedy, but as an ode to his departed son, he even instituted the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation, which has been celebrating the best achievements of debut film directors across the country since 1998. By awarding these debut filmmakers, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao cherishes his son’s success through them. A memento and a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000 will be awarded to the best debut director and a guest speech will be given by an eminent film personality every year.

So far, popular filmmakers like Aamir Khan (Taare Zameen Par), Indraganti Mohana Krishna (Grahanam), Anushka Rizvi (Peepli Live) etc are some of the recipients of this prestigious award. Reputed filmmakers like Kamal Haasan, K Balachander, K Vishwanath etc were some of the eminent filmmakers who gave their guest speeches during the presentation ceremonies.

Yesterday, the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award was presented to Agra based young director Sanjeev Gupta for his debut film Q. During the glittering ceremony, Megastar Chiranjeevi said that many award function organisers have degraded the value of film awards, but Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award is one such award that continues to touch all the families.

The teaser of Maruthi’s ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ is one of the most refreshing visual treats in recent times.

During his interaction with the media in February, Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law and Guntur TDP MP Jayadev Galla revealed that Mahesh Babu has plans to adopt Burripalem. It has been six months since the announcement and till now, there has been no official news about any developmental activities taken up by the Superstar. “In my past directorial Upendra, the sole concept of the film is exploring ‘you’. I’ve dealt with the what is inside me. Now I’m going to explain what’s inside others. In Upendra 2 I’ll deal with what’s in ‘you’. The two films are not correlated, neither preachy or spiritual but they will explore a concept of life”, says Upendra. Varun Tej has portrayed the role of a soldier and the film is about his adore for a young girl from his village. Pragya Jaiswal is Varun Tej’s love interest in the Krish directorial.

It appears like Kanche is inspired from a real story. Recently, an old woman found few love letters of her mother written to her soldier dad during Second World War. The story was tear-jerking and instantly clicked on internet. The letters described how much they loved each other and how tough it was for the lady leading an emotional life in absence of her life partner. Unfortunately, the gentleman died in the war and the lady alone had taken care of their children.

Though lead character may not die in Kanche, director Krish would have presented the pure love story heart-touchingly.
