Superstar Mahesh Babu had taken a sensational start at the box office. The movie backed by very positive word of mouth and good reviews had seen very good occupancy in all the A centers across AP and Telangana. B,C centers are also good with those in Ceeded being slightly wayward.

On the other side, the movie had taken a sensational opening in the overseas too. The movie is likely to end up as the second best first day total after Baahubali.

Given no competition at the box office, the movie is expected to end up at least in all time Top 4 list in its full run if this positive talk sustains. The trade is brimming with happiness given back to back successes with Baahubali and Srimanthudu.

Highly popular for her sensuous looks and voluptuous figure which she flaunts with aplomb in the superhit TV show Jabardasth, hot anchor Rashmi Gautam is now pinning her hopes high on her upcoming film Guntur Talkies. The sexy actress, after acting in a string of low budget films and also appearing in several item songs, is back to playing important roles in films.

In a candid interview given to an English news paper, Rashmi revealed a few facts that badly affected her career. The young actress says that she was quite young when she stepped into films and that too without any filmy background. Saying that the initial days are very tough in Tollywood, Rashmi revealed that she was badly cheated on several occasions.

Rashmi said that many directors used to approach her with meaty roles before the start of the films, and when she used to start shooting, she used to figure out that her roles were being shot differently from what was narrated to her. When it comes to the final version, her roles were cut even shorter. This affected her career badly and Rashmi then took to TV.

However, the actress is back into the limelight now and has a few films up her sleeves. Let’s wish that Rashmi enjoys a dream run from here.

Gunasekhar’s ambitious magnum opus Rudramadevi has been in making for nearly 3 years now. The film is also India’s first historical 3D film and it has a few epic battle sequences. Expectations are quite high following the huge success of Baahubali, which also falls in the same genre.

Here’s some big news. If the latest buzz is to be believed, Gunasekhar is currently dubbing Rudramadevi into Kannada. This move comes right after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) recent ruling against the ban on dubbing of other language films in Kannada. If the film indeed materializes, Rudramadevi will be the first Telugu film dubbed into Kannada after the lifting of ban.

The dubbing work is said to be underway in Hyderabad and the Kannada version will be ready by this month end to facilitate decent promotions for the film’s Kannada release along with its Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions. Already, there’s a huge craze for Telugu films across Karnataka, thanks to similarities in language and traditions of both Karnataka and the Telugu states.

With Anushka Shetty being a Kannada actress, needless to say that the film will have stupendous openings in the Kannada land.

Until the last minute before the film hit the screens last night, fans of Superstar Mahesh Babu were extremely tense. The reason was that Mahesh’s last two films, 1 Nenokkadine and Aagadu, were huge flops. Even though the pre-release buzz was extremely positive for Srimanthudu, Superstar’s fans had their fingers crossed until early this morning.

But things have changed within a matter of few minutes into the film’s benefit shows. As the film unraveled itself scene by scene, Mahesh’s fans shed all their fears and started to enjoy the hysteria and the result, well, a huge blockbuster. By the end of the show, fans came out celebrating the grand success.

Amidst all these celebrations, fans didn’t forget to thank one man, the film’s writer and director Koratala Siva. Breaking the second film jinx, Koratala Siva weaved a superb role for Mahesh wih loads of heroism elevation scenes. Especially, the Mahesh-Mukhesh Rishi confrontation scene, the mango grove scene and the pre-climax scenes stood out for their heroism and resulted in the amazing success of the film.

While Koratala Siva was already lauded for his heroism elevation scenes for Prabhas in Mirchi, with Srimanthudu,  he cemented his position as a director who can elevate his heroes to the next level.

Hyderabad High Court has responded positively for the petition filed by Srimanthudu producers to implement the John Doe (anti-piracy) orders obtained by them from a city civil court. If obtaining John Doe Orders is one thing, then getting them implemented by the police is another thing. As per this order, uploading the pirated version of the movie on internet or DVD piracy is a crime and those stuff should be deleted from the internet immediately and perpetrators arrested.

Basing on a petition filed, HC has issued directives to AP and Telangana police to implement John Doe Orders in case of Srimanthudu and took action on the culprits, if any, seriously. Earlier Baahubali has also obtained the John Doe orders but the piracy print of the flick is available online from 3rd itself.

They say that Baahubali makers haven’t got the orders effectively implemented thought they procured it. Despite having John Doe orders in hand, makers have suffered a bit due to piracy. But now for Srimanthudu, there is no question of any such scope for piracy-rackets as police will implement it strictly after this court order.

While his latest release Srimanthudu opened to superhit reports all over, celebrations have already started for hardcore fans of Superstar Mahesh Babu. Easily one of the top stars in Tollywood, Mahesh surprised everyone when he said that there is no permanent no. 1 star in the film industry.

Mahesh then stunned everyone by saying that the master perfectionist Rajamouli is the number one star in Tollywood at the moment because of the kind of films he has made so far. Mahesh went on to explain that cinema is the biggest star compared to all the stars and that every film that releases each Friday is a star in itself.

These few genuine words are enough to describe Mahesh’s honesty towards films and his star status. Praising Jakkanna as the number one star also shows that Mahesh has no airs or insecurities. These are the basic qualities every star should possess in the glamour industry and Mahesh seems to have plenty of them in him.

Will a person hailing from certain place makes movies that are close to his land and people? This is the debate of the hour as Film Nagar folks do feel that some directors like Vamsi and Sukumar who hail from Godavari districts use that touch always.

They say Vamsi always uses Godavari slang and slapstick satires and Sukumar loves to come up with raunchy item numbers in his films as he might have enjoyed those recording dances in Godavari districts during his childhood. This may sound logically true, but quite untrue.

How faithful it is to say a person hailing from Guntur and Rayalseema always show bloodshed with faction dramas and those who come from Ooty and Kerala film only romantic stories? Taste of filmmaker is something that depends on his like towards artistic things in life but not his carnal pleasures or education or nativity.

Otherwise a highly acclaimed film maker like Balu Mahendra, a Srilankan Tamilian by birth, wouldn’t have made artistic National Award winning Tamil and Telugu films. Because he’s from an under-developed nation like Sri Lanka which was later torn with internal war. So, regions don’t define taste of film makers.
