Lot is being said and written about Rajamouli’s latest magnum opus movie, Baahubali. Last week, it was said Shruti Hassan is playing the second female lead but Rajamouli denied it. And now the latest rumour is that Andhala Rakshasi fame Lavanya is selected for the role. Lavanya, who rose to fame with Andhala Rakshasi which released last year slowly disappeared after the movie bombed at the box office. She was recently roped in beside Manchu Vishnu in a movie directed by Veeru Potla. The movie shooting is currently on.

The movie which is reportedly the biggest budget movie ever made in Telugu, will go on to sets in April. Anushka will be pairing with Prabhas in this movie for the third time after Billa and Mirchi. Rana is playing the baddie. This movie will be jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media banner and will be presented by K Raghavendra Rao. Keeravani will be scoring the music.

Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad may be doing too many roles less than his stature. But one of his movies ‘Dream’ had got him a rare honour of his life. The film had bagged the prestigious Royal Reel award at Canada International Film Festival in which there is a participation from 34 countries. The award will be presented at a special ceremony on next month 5th and 6th. Dream which was released last year failed to make a mark on audience.

The movie is directed by Bhavani Shankar and had been produced by Vijay Mainam and Satish Mainam. Rajendra Prasad was seen in multiple costumes and with multiple characterizations in this complete experimental film.

Child actor turned hero Tarun’s career graph is currently hitting all time low with no offers in hand and all the movies getting badly bombed at the box office. And now he is in to one more trouble. His next movie Yudham Producer Natti Kumar had filed a complaint with Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce against actor Tarun for his unprofessional behaviour citing it a cause for financial loss to him. In his complaint, he alleged that Tarun is not attending for the shooting  of the movie ‘Yudham’ which is just a mere five days away from completion. The 5 days shoot will take place in Bangkok. But Tarun had been preferring Celebrity Cricket League matches over the film. 

Bharat Ganesh is directing this movie under the banner of Visaka Talkies produced by Natti Kumar. A new comer Yami is playing the leading lady in this movie. Srihari is playing an important role.

Young Music Sensation G.V.Prakash Kumar who is famous in Telugu land for his compositions like Ullasanga Uthsahanga and Darling will be composing the team anthem for Sun risers, a Hyderabad based IPL franchise for the upcoming season. GVP himself revealed this in his twitter account, he said “Signed up to do the anthem for SunRisers for IPL,”

The franchise which was earlier Deccan Chargers was placed back on auction after its parent company Deccan Chronicle had gone bankrupt. Tamil Nadu based Sun TV had purchased the franchise in auction and renamed it as Sun Risers. Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara is the captain of SunRisers Hyderabad and former Australian cricketer Tom Moody is the coach. Former cricketers Krishnamachari Srikanth and VVS Laxman are also coaches for the team.

Telugu film industry and its audience is gearing up to witness its first 3D film this summer. Two  3D movies will be hitting the screens this summer. They are Allari Naresh’s Action and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Om. Both the movie had completed their shooting activities and are currently in post production. Interestingly both the movie are directed by debutants. Anil Sunkara who is wielding megaphone for Action is a producer earlier. And Sunil Kumar Reddy who is directing OM earlier is a cinematographer.

However, things will not be easy for these movies at the box office. They will have to compete with Venkatesh’s Shadow, NTR’s Baadshah, Nagarjuna’s Greekuveerudu and Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho at the box office as all of them are lined for summer release. Also there are IPL matches which will cause considerable damages to movie collections.
