The Union Finance Minister P.Chidambaram had announced that the entire film industry will be exempted from paying the 12.36% Service tax to the government.The entire entertainment and amusement services industry has been placed in the negative list of sectors which are not required to pay the tax. Finance Minister also specifically stated that service tax would not be charged on film copyrights.

Exemption from the Service tax is one of the long standing demands of Film industry. Film industries across the country have protested several times on this issue and finally all their efforts paid off. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce had thanked the government for this movie and saving the already burdened producers.

Comedian turned hero Sunil had celebrated his birthday today at Devnar School for the blind at Begumpet, Hyderabad with visually impaired students. He has also donated a cheque for Rs 2 lakhs to Devnar Foundation.

Sunil’s Mr.Pellikoduku is all set to release worldwide tomorrow. He will very soon begin the shooting of a new movie under the direction of Uday Shankar for Suresh Productions. This film was stalled for a couple of months ago and is back on track now. There is also a news that he had okayed a movie by a new comer, Vikram Siri who earlier worked under VV Vinayak.

Nagarjuna is all set to play an event manager in his upcoming movie, Greekuveerudu. The movie revolves around an NRI who  comes to India for the first time. The entire shooting part of the movie is wrapped up and the audio release of the movie will take place some time in March. The movie will hit the marquee on April 19th.

Nayantara is pairing up with Nagarjuna in this movie. Second time after Boss. Dasarath is directing Greeku Veerudu and D Sivaprasad Reddy is producing the film on Kamakshi Kala Movies banner. Thaman is composing the music.
