Story: Cherry(Ram Charan) is a software Engineer and falls in love with Madhu(Kajal), sister of Local don Gandipet Babji(Rahul Dev). Babji doesn’t like that and decides to warn Cherry, then he witnesses cherry murdering DCP and steps back. Who is cherry? Why is he killing one by one forms the remaining story.

Performances: Ram Charan suited well to the role of Nayak(leader). His body language is good. He improved a lot in terms of performance also. Kajal is okay as heroine. Amala paul is passable. Jayprakash Reddy and Posani Krishna Murali impress more in the comedy department. Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Raghu Babu, M.S are okay. The remaining supporting cast fitted to their roles well. Story is simple. It has been dragged with entertaining scenes. The screenplay is good. Dialogues are good. Music by Thaman is above Average with foot tapping numbers. Cinematography by Chota K. Naidu is good. Art work and Editing are neat. The Direction is good only in parts. Few scenes lacked depth. The Production values are Good.

Analysis: The much awaited action flick directed by V.V.Vinayak in the combination of Mega Powerstar Ramcharan was released today(first in the pongal race). The movie has all the ingredients of a mass flick. The mass Audience may like it more due the vast entertainment quotient. Ram Charan is Good in Action Scenes. His body language suited well to the role of Nayak. Even though he failed to show much variation between the two roles, he managed with the rock serious look. Kajal is okay. She looked glamorous and the chemistry between the lead pair looked good. Amala paul is passable. Some how she looked dull and her chemistry with Charan is poor. Brahmanandam entertains as usually with his typical body language. Jayprakash Reddy is hilarious. His role evoked good humour. Posani krishna Murali entertains in the second half. Rahul Dev, Raghu babu, Pradeep rawath, Ashish Vidyarthi, Surekha Vani, Rajeev kanakala are okay in their roles.

This song is picturised on Charan as a Club song and Charan looked energetic with muscled body. He entertains with graceful steps. He danced well.

2. Oka Choopuke Padipoya
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Bindu Mahima
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
Picturised on Kajal and Ram Charan on the streets in abroad locations. The song looked decent.

3. Kathi Lanti Pilla
Singers: Thaman S.S, Shefali Alvaris
Lyrics: Chandrabose
Picturised on Kajal and Charan in virgin locations. The locales are scenic and pleasing to eyes.

4 Subhaleka Rasukunna
Singers: Haricharan, Sreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Late Veturi
Picturised on Amalapaul and Charan. The song starts with a slow pace. The first stanza is bit slow with frozen locations in the backdrop. Charan impresses with a couple of slow and graceful steps. The song gets into us only towards the ending which has snow filled icy locations of Iceland.

5. Nellorae
Singers: Jaspreeth Jasz, Suchitra
Lyrics: Sahithi
Charmee shakes her hips with Charan in this item song. The song is catchy and instant hit among the masses. Charan came up with a couple of good dance moves.

6. Hey.. Nayak
Singers: Sreya Ghoshal, Naveen
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
The song is picturised on Charan, Kajal, Amalapaul. The placement of the song is good and Lawrence choreographed it. It has rich grandeur. The VFX in the song are not so appealing.

Music by Thaman S.S is a plus to the film. All the songs sounded good and came out well on the screen too. Background score is also good in few(especially Nayak Theme)scenes. It literally elevated the image in some scenes. Cinematography by Chota is good. All the virgin locations of Iceland are well shot. They couldn’t be highlighted on the screen due to poor light. Chota has gone for more close-ups, even in the fights also. Art work is neat. Editing by Gowtham raju is neat, he managed most of the boring scenes with slick shots. Fights by Kannal kannan are filled more with thread work. Choreography was good, Dinesh master has done fine job and Lawrence was okay in the Climax song.

Story and Dialogues are by Siva Akula, he provided a wafer thin story line and that was narrated in beaten style(we have seen in many flicks).Dialogues are good. Siva managed to evoke good amount of humour and keep the Audience engaged with his Comedy punches all through. Some dialogues are witty and instantaneous. Some Trivikramish (“Nippu ani telisaka pattuko koodadu, Yedava ani Telisaka Pettuko koodadu”) punches also worked well. The complete first half goes on smoothly with entertaining scenes between Charan, Brahmanandam & Jayprakash Reddy. The second half also has ample entertainment in the form of posani Krishna Murali. The counseling scenes(even though we have witnessed such scenes in Srihari’s film) evoked good laughs in the theater.

The best part of the film is the combination of seriousness with Entertainment. Vinay scores good marks in the screenplay department rather than Direction. The screenplay is racy and no single frame looked boring. The Direction is good in few scenes. Some Scenes looked below Average. The Love Track between Charan and Kajal is not up to the mark, failed in generating romantic feel and also the track between Amala paul and Charan looked half baked. The fight episodes are filled more with rope work which appeal only to the masses. Vinayak couldn’t elevate the hero buildup scenes. Some scenes appeared routine (similar to Vinayak’s earlier films).The scenes which show how an ordinary man grows as a leader literally looked pale and below Average(substandard). The Climax could have been better. Overall Vinayak manages with his mass Pulse and speedy narration

It’s a treat to Mega fans and masses to see good Dances in the songs, Action and Entertainment. The Movie fares well at B, C Centers. We have to wait and see how the movie fares at the ‘A’ centers as there is big release(SVSC) queued up in a couple of days.

Verdict: Hit Delivered. It’s a package of Action, Dances and Entertainment. Paisa Vasool. Perfect film for masses in this festive season.

Chandrababu Naidu completes 100 days

The TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu completed 100 days of his ‘Vastunnaa Meekosam’ pada yatra on Wednesday.

He has cut a cake in the ‘hundred days celebrations’ held at Madiripuram of Khammam district. Party workers celebrated the occasion enthusiastically. Senior leaders Yerrabelli Dayakara Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, Hari Krishna and others have participated in the programme.

Naidu who started his yatra on October 2, has reached Khamam, passing through ten districts. He has so far covered 1581 kilo metrs.

Congress High Command has invited the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao to New Delhi for discussions. The invitation attained importance in the backdrop of high expectations that a decision on the Telangana state would be announced by January 20.

According to party sources, the High Command would discuss about bifurcation of the state with KCR. It is learnt that the High Command would chiefly focus on the status of Hyderabad. The ruling party’s leadership has been seriously discussing about making Hyderabad the common capital for Andhra and Telangana states, on the lines of Chandigarh, capital of Punjab and Haryana.

Akbar’s hate speech on YouTube: HC rejects plea

Andhra Pradesh High Court Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking directions to YouTube to remove controversial speeches of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi from the popular website.

A division bench comprising Sanjay Kumar and L. Narasimha Reddy said the court cannot interfere as the matter relates to freedom of expression. The court advised the petitioner to move the YouTube office in New York, if he had any objection to the site’s content.

J.V.S. Rama Rao, an advocate, had filed the petition. He claimed that the circulation of the alleged hate speeches over YouTube might create law and order problems.

The petitioner said the speeches were highly inflammatory and hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, a member of the Andhra Pradesh assembly, was arrested Tuesday by the police for having made hate speeches at Nirmal town in Adilabad district.

A court in Nirmal sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

Nayak has villain Gandipeta Babji (Rahul Dev) and the MLA alleges that Mega Star Chiranjeevi and his political adversary Minister Ganta were behind it. He warned that if the name is not removed he will not allow Nayak screening in Northern Andhra. Buzz is Vinayak agreed to change the name after discussions with Gandi Babji.

Off course we cannot under-estimate the combination of Ram Charan and VV Vinayak,On the other hand, Mega Star Chiranjeevi monitoring the promotional campaigns means a lot. However, buzz around mass film will always be more than a class family entertainer. Varun in Kandireega Hindi remake

Varun who made his Bollywood debut in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year last year is all set to act in the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Kandireega. His father David Dhaman is going to wield megaphone for this movie and Ekta Kapoor will be producing it under Balaji Motion Pictures.

Varun earned rave reviews for his fluid expressions and flexible dancing ability in his first movie. A teaser of the new movie was floated online Monday. It featured an actor with back to the camera, and holding a poster reading: “Mafia Don Kidnaps Girl!”.

Jabardasth shooting wrapped up

The unit of Siddharth and Samantha starer Jabardasth had completed filming the last song in Malaysia. With this, the entire movie shooting is now complete. The post production of the movie is already on and the makers are planning to launch the audio towards the second half of January.

Bellamkonda Suresh is producing the Telugu version while director Lingusamy bought the rights for Tamil version and it will be distributed by Thirupathi Brothers banner. Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Nayak is all set for a grand release today. All the prints were ready just in time and dispatched to the overseas locations. All the premieres were screened according to the schedule. The crowd turnout for the early premieres was not so good given it is a week day. However, the talk is encouraging. Leading entertainment channel, Gemini bagged the movie rights and had already paid an advance 2.61C which was directly paid to Rainbow colour lab which undertook the printing. Mega Power Star Ram Charan and his family had watched the special screening of the actor’s latest outing Nayak at Prasad Labs Preview theatre in Hyderabad on Tuesday night. His wife Upasana and other family members were present. Ram Charan greeted all and welcomed them. This private preview show was arranged for close family members of Ram Charan and his pals. Ram Charan was spotted driving in his luxury Aston Martin V8 Vantage car that costs more than Rs 2 Crore. And this model was recently launched in India.

The movie is all set for a grand release today. Almost all the areas have charted the biggest release ever for any movie. And a record first day collections are expected. Few of the media personnel and industry people have also watched the show and a positive talk is generated after the screening.

Financial issues for Viswaroopam?

Things are not seem to be going on in favour of Kamal Hassan these days. It is the headache of Tamil exhibitors banning his Viswaroopam on one side and the other big problem is the huge pending finances which are now threatening to hamper the release plans of the movie. Kamal is reportedly burning midnight oil to release the movie as planned in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions as planned on January 11th. Dasari Narayana Rao’s Siri media is going to distribute the film in entire AP. But what we hear from the sources is not rosy. They say there are huge financial tangles which may hamper the release however Kamal is trying to his level best to clear the mess.

DTH premiere is also planned for the movie in all languages few hours before the theatrical release. The movie directed and enacted by Kamal Haasan himself features Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Rahul Bose, Shekar Kapur in key roles. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are the music composers.

The makers and distributors of Seethamma Vaktilo Sirimalle Chettu are leaving no stone behind to connect their movie with ladies and family audience who are the targetted audience of their movie. Venkatesh and Mahesh are two strongest crowd pullers of this section audience and to cash this further, few distributors are planning to hold Rangoli competitions for Sankranthi at the theaters playing SVSC. They feel this will keep the audience interested and will also add up to the publicity of the movie.

Tollywood’s biggest gamble in Overseas

Telugu movie business outside the country had increased multifolds in the last one year but never did Tollywood see a stake of as much as 10 crore in one week. With three major releases Nayak, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Viswaroopam in one week, this 10 Crore target in now on for this Sankranthi.

SVSC was brought for Rs 5.5 crore plus and additional cost of Rs 50 lakh for prints and publicity by the overseas distributor. Ram Charan starrer Nayak had costed Rs 3.50 Crore plus another Rs 50 lakh for prints and advertisement. Kamal starer Vishwaroopam is not too far behind. The movie was also bought (both in Telugu and Tamil) for a good amount by an USA distributor. The Telugu distributor is releasing both Telugu and Tamil version in USA.

If we add all these it comes up to a staggering Rs 10 crore, and the million dollar question is how much of the money is going to be recovered.

Kalyan Ram’s OM gearing up for release

Our readers are aware that Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is all set to take the honours of acting and producing Tollywood’s first ever 3D movie titled OM. The movie had completed its shooting formalities and is in post production works. Kalyan Ram is reportedly releasing the trailer of the movie along with the Sankranthi releases. Some Digital prints of Nayak, Viswaroopam and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu will have the trailer and will played during the intervals. The movie is being planned for March first week release.
