After some initial delays, ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’ is getting a shape now. The film starring Nithin in the lead role, marks the directorial debut of Prem Sai, a former associate of Prabhu Deva.The hunt for the heroine started with Ananya initially and then considering the bilingual connectivity the idea was dropped, and then literally every name was discussed to pair opposite Nithin. But the search never ended.

And now we hear that ‘Vicky Donor’ fame Yami Gautam is all set to pair up with Nithin. The director Premsai former associate to Director Prabhu Deva always had an idea, he wanted Yami Gautham to play the lead, but she was too busy then. the delay in shooting of the movie, came as a blessing in disguise, Yami finished her current commitements and nodded her head to Premsai to pair opposite Nithin

Courier Boy Kalyan has completed 40% shooting. Nithin solo and combinations with other actors and action sequences. Post deepavali, the hero & heroine combinations work and songs filming would start.

Small director bags a big offer!

Small directors always dream big but very few of them reach heights. Eerojullo director Maruthi seem to be one in that rare breed. With his first movie Eerojullo becoming a big hit, Senior Producer Bellamkonda had produced his next movie, Bus Stop. And now we hear that he had a bumper offer of directing a movie in Allu Aravind’s Geeta Arts.

Maruthi hit a jackpot with Nagarjuna’s Damarukam postponement Since many theaters have been allocated for Damarukam and the film being postponed has made the makers go for a big release. With no big releases other than dubbed film Tupaki, Bus Stop is expected to do well at the Box-Office.

Censor Board turns main villain

In the controversy on Vishnu, Hansika starrer ‘Denikaina Ready’, while the main culprit is film maker Mohan Babu, Censor Board is the main villain. There should not be an iota of doubt that Mohan Babu’s film is most henious one in nature. For long it has become fashion for film makers to poke fun at soft targets Brahmin community their traditions, priests and their practices.
 
Denikaina Ready went one step ahead and insulted entire brahmin community and devotees who worship Goddess on whose name powerful Chandiyagam is performed. While film makers of Cameraman Gangato Rambabu, silently obliged the directions of the Govt committee and agreed for cuts, Mohan Babu chose to defy all of them and went to high court and got stay against the Govt order.
 
It may be temporary relief and one should not see it as defeat for brahmin community. Even when the committee showed him 20 cuts he did not agree his mistake though he placed a big public ad daring any one to show him the mistakes and he would rectify them. It is up to the Govt on how to deal with the Court when faced with these kind of problems over committee formation.

Govt has every right to ban a film if it hurts the sentiments of a community as happened in Kamasutra, Fire, Water, Panch, Bandit Queen, Davinci Code etc. However this episode showed that Censor Board is blind and is the first criminal. One wonder whether censor suggested any cuts for the scenes that were now being screened freely which are hurting the brahmins. Did EC or RC did not see any objections in the scenes or 20 cuts suggested by committee when they first viewed the film?How could Dhanalakshmi who is known to be tough officer turn blind to such scenes. There is nothing wrong in having committees when censor board is blind to the feelings of people though it is not legally binding. What punishment censor board members, RC, EC and Officer will get for permitting film makers hurt the sentiments of people?

No diwali for ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ in Bhagyanagar!

Hyderabad is more popularly known as Bhagyanagar on the most prestigious and powerful temple ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ right at the heart of the city and at historical monument Charminar. However now the powerful Goddess in the temple will not see diwali celebrations which are going on for many decades thanks to some communities trying to disrupt even the diwali decorations that were going on at the temple premises. For the first time in the history of the temple, the other religous group started alleging that the temple authorities are trying to cause destruction to Charminar. This hightened the tensions in the place and most of the shops are getting closed as early as 8PM. On firday police even started stopping devotees from entering the temple thus hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.

Even during the Nizam rule, there were no rules and restrictions and none objected to the rituals of the temple. Even after the temple authorities assured other religion people that they will decorate with only bamboos, they started objecting with Charminar MLA Sayed Pasha Khadri along with MIM corporators making a scene during midnight. When the temple authorities approached high court it ordered status quo before 30th. However during that time temple had all the decorations and now other religious leaders are not even allowing for the status quo to continue. Now this year, there will be no diwali for ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ in Bhagyanagar.

Photographer forcing Actress to Marry Him?

Few reports were doing rounds since the past few days saying that Photographer-turned-Actor and her alleged boyfriend Sunder Ramu has been threatening Richa Gangopadhyay with suicide if she doesn’t marry him as soon as possible.

Calling the reports in circulation as just speculations, Richa made it clear that neither she is going to marry anytime soon nor anyone could force her into marriage. She, however, said Sunder Ramu is a good friend of hers.On the other side, Sunder too ruled out suicide rumors.

Nagarjuna’s Vedantam on Damarukam release

The makers of Damarukam failed to release their movie even after annoucing the movie release date for the third consecutive time. The producers are plagued with several financial problems and are battling with the financiers to ensure the movie, yet the producer continued to tell the media that he’d be releasing the movie on November 10th. Even ‘Releasing Today’ ads were appeared in major Telugu news dailies on Saturday morning although Lab clearance was not done. Lab clearance is mandatory for any film to hit the screens.

Speaking about the film’s woes, Nagarjuna said God has not given the permission to release the film. On Saturday morning, he went to Kakinada to inaugurate a showroom. And when asked about the film’s release, he promised that everything would be settled in a week. “As of now, Lord Shiva has not set the muhurtham for us, ” he said in philosophical mode.

Big B ensures Polio drops for grand daughter

Amitabh Bachchan had once again proved that he is a man who practices what he preaches. It is known that the 70-year-old veteran is an active spokesperson for the government’s polio eradication campaign and now he took his granddaughter Aaradhya for polio drops.

“Two drops of the polio vaccine to Aaradhya… overseen by government officials. Just so it is put on record. To practice what I preach,” Amitabh tweeted Thursday night. Aaradhya, daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, got her first drops in April this year. The toddler will turn one Nov 16.

Samantha asks not to believe rumours

Out of no where, the news of Samantha’s oudting from Ram Charan’s Yevadu erupted out of no where. Citing the reason of the non availability of dates, they have reported that Shruti Haasan has stepped in her place.

There is no official announcement regarding this from the makers till now. Samantha chose not speak about the issue in detail but hinted that this news may not be true. She tweeted that, “As far as the rumours are concerned about the projects I am doing or not doing… Don’t believe everything u hear… ”

Yevadu has Amy Jackson playing the other female lead role. Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal makes guest appearance in the film. Vamsi Paidipalli is the director.

Confusion continues in Damarukam release

The fall of RR Movie Makers is a lesson for all the production houses trying to venture in to the film industry. The left alone the commercial feasibility rules and spent money like water and now are in severe debts. And their financiers are now throwing daggers at them. Their latest movie Damarukam was postponed thrice after the release date announcements. Online ticketing partners have issued thrice tickets in advance thrice and later refunded the money. People who booked the tickets had to forego their money in the form of transaction/convenience charge.

They have let out ‘Today Release’ ads in all the news papers and the movie is still not yet out. While the makers claim they release today at least for first show. Things seem to get tougher and tougher.  Several industry biggies like Dasari Narayana Rao and others have pitched in to ensure the movie proper release. But the amount that should be clear is going on increasing every hour. The movie release now is totally unclear.

Defeats looming large on directors

Film industry is united on its demand for ban on dubbing films and even levying of more taxes on them. The main reason for that is more than 90% of the films bombed at the box office. 10% success rate is a worrying sign for any industry and the most surprising part is the mega flops include top directors, actors and banners films. One look at the top directors will show defeats black marks on them.
 
Puri Jagannath prior to pokiri tasted super flops Andhrawala, 143 and Super. With Pokiri he showed the stamina of Tollywood and placed on par with bollywood. Later his ‘Desamuduru’ became a hit while ‘Chiruta’ can only be talked about as Ram Charan’s debut film. From then on he tasted string of five flops like Bujjigadu, Neninte, Ek Niranjan, Golimar, Nenu Na Rakshasi. However he came back in style with Mahesh’s ‘Business Man’ but came down with a thud with Powerstar pawan Kalyan’s ‘Cameraman Gangato Rambabu’.
 
Creative director Krishna Vamsi before ‘Chandamama’ scored a hat trick of flops with Sri Anjaneyam, Danger, Chakram. After Chandamama ‘Sasirekha Parinayam’,’Mahatma’, ‘Mogudu’ completed another flop hat trick. One wonder why he is tasting flops with his creativity.
 
Gunasekhar before ‘Okkadu’ tasted defeates with Mrugaraju, ‘Manoharam’. However his Arjun, Sainikudu, Varudu and Nippu turned out to be utter flops. Out of his 11 projects only 3 were hits. Now he is out with his ‘Rudramadevi’.
 
VV.Vinayak after superhit ‘Aadi’, tasted defeat with ‘Chennakesava Reddy’. Later Dil’ and Tagore were hits while Samba is a flop. Bunny , Lakshmi turned out to be hits while Yogi tasted defeat. Krishna is a hit while Adurs average. Badrinath bombed at boc office.
 
Srinu Vytla after ‘Anandam’ tasted defeats in Kalavaramaye Madilo, Sontam. Venky is a hit while Andarivadu flop. Later he scored hatrick of hits with Dhee, Dubai Seenu, Ready. However his films King, Namo Venkatesha flopped but scored a sensation with Dookudu.
 
Of all these directors only Rajamouli has 100% track record except for Sye which got average talk.

Damarukam throws Charmi in Doldrums

Punjabi beauty Charmi once romanced top stars in tollywood and for long has been now waiting for offers losing her star shine. When she got the offer from the film makers of Nagarjuna starrer ‘Damarukam’, she was over the moon thinking that it will revive her sinking career. Her sizzling special song ‘sakku bai..garam chai’, became an instant hit with Devi Sri Prasad giving foot tapping tunes.

However when everyone thought that Damarukam is on the verge of locking horns with Power Star’s Cameraman Gangato Rambabu giving them spectacular treat on silver screen, it backed off at the last minute. Movie lovers felt that film makers will surely give dasara treat even that was not to be and now they shied away from diwali fire works also.

This not only miffed movie lovers who lost their interest in this socio fantasy film but even Charmi whose career was put in doldrums by dumb Damarukam. It has to be seen how Charmi will come out of this disappointment and how film makers treat her from now onwards. They should realize it is not Charmi’s fault but film makers who are behind Damarukam’s delay by not getting their financial calculations right but going ahead with the film’s release date.

Reliance blackmailed by YSR or Naidu ?

People of Andhra Pradesh are still unable to come to the terms of mystery behind YS.Rajasekhar Reddy’s death. Though there was enough evidence with the helicopter crashing due to rough weather conditions and intermittent rain, still YSR family and YSRCP allege that YSR death was not natural but it was cold murder. They say since he opposed the entry of Relaince Petroleum from extracting natural resources in KG Basin he was murdered. Their story gets some credence when even reports came about Reliance influencing Cong High Command, Sonia and Rahul to shift Jaipal Reddy from petroleum ministry so that a more favorable person could be appointed in the post.
Now TDP Telugu Mahila leader Sobha Hymavathi rejected YSRCP’s allegations that their President Chandra Babu Naidu is hobnobbing with Reliance. She said Sharmila lacks basic knowledge and understanding and said it was her dad YSR under whose regime Reliance did not participate in KG basin’s auction. She said the company participated once and then with enacted a drama for 10% share on  gas corporation . She said he tried to blackmail Reliance and got insulted and now YSRCP is colluding with Cong. She said it was only due to this Vijayamma made her Delhi visit.

Film Fraternity isolates Manchu family

Tollywood is known for its unity and during any controversy and tribulations, it comes in support of its stars covertly or overtly. However in the controversy related to Manchu family’s ‘Denikaina Ready’, it looks like entire film fraternity deserted them. None in the film industry opened their mouth or came in support of Manchu family members even when both the parties were involved in a brawl. Even Mohan Babu’s revered master Dasari did not intervene and try to cool the tempers.
 
Buzz is Mohan Babu and Vishnu themselves contacted Producers Council and addressed a press conference in which they started supporting producer shifting the entire balme on Censor Board. It came as a surprise because the same duo lashed out at the censor board when it suggested 12cuts and asked them to delete 8 of them immediately. They used their power at the review committee and came out minimum number of cuts. Even during Mohan babu’s fight with Regional Officer Dhanalakshmi, or Brahmin Organisations, only Mohan Babu and Vishnu ended up giving explanations.
 
Manchu and Mega families courted controversies and none supported Manchu family in any of the issue. But Mohan Babu climbed down and invited Megastar for Denikaina Ready audio launch but he did not turn up. Even Chandra babu Naidu’s and Nandamuri’s families with whom Manchu family enjoys good rapport did not come in support of him. Ironically Manchu family made films with both Nagarjuna and Balakrishna but both the films bombed at the box office.
 
Even film chamber President Tammareddy Bharadwaj subtly spoke in support of censor board saying many of the films are getting stopped and Dhanalakshmi views films according to her convenience. One never knew what happened to Denikaina Ready. Insiders reveal that Mohan Babu was furious on Vishnu and others after returning from Chennai and they say that he was of the opinion that Vishnu was at fault. Had Mohan Babu apologized and tried to sort out the problem he would have got some support but when he went hammer and tongs it complicated the whole issue. He even went on to say that he just remade the film from Malayalam original trying to shift blame on original. One wonders why Tollywood fraternity is staying away from Manchu family. Is it because it believes Mohan Babu at fault?

Taapsee Is Asking For More?

20 Objectionable scenes in Denikaina Ready

Our readers might be aware of the controversy raging between actor Mohan Babu and Brahmin associations over the issue of derogatory representation of Brahmins community in the film ‘Denikaina Ready. The government has appointed a special committee to see the film on Wednesday. Social Welfare principal secretary Raymond Peter has been appointed as the chairman of the committee and Chandravadan, commissioner, Information & Public Relations, as secretary. AP Film Chamber of Commerce Committee President Thammareddy Bharadwaj also named in the committee.

The committe instituted by  Andhra Pradesh Government had finally watched the special screening of Denikaina Ready and had reported that 20 scenes were objectionable. They would now discuss the cuts with the movie team and decide the cuts.

Kats’ Weight Reduction program for Dhoom 3

Apparently, the director this time around wanted a slimmer and fitter leading lady as the movie involves lots of action which need the heroine to be very, very fit and agile.

Katrina is reportedly working out for about 90 minutes every day. Even when she was shooting in London last month, She had a trainer who helped her out. Fans who are running their count down timers for the first look of Ram Charan’s Nayak have to wait longer. The teaser release which was scheduled for Diwali was now postponed. We are yet to be informed about the future plans.  We are yet to know about their future. On the otherside, the movie shooting is going on at brisk pace. The audio of the movie will hit the stores in November and movie will be released on January 9th, 2013.

Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul are acting as the female leads. VV Vinayak is directing the movie while DVV Danayya is producing the movie under Universal movies banner. Thaman is composing the music.
