Mahesh’s domination upsets Venky fans

0
From the very beginning of the multi-starrer project ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’, the fans of victory Venkatesh are miffed with the fact that superstar Mahesh Babu is stealing all the lime light. Adding to Venky fans misery, Producer Dil Raju (who is known for his business acumen) has planned to unveil the first look of the film on May 31st. This particular date May 31 have a specific importance – it’s superstar Krishna’s birthday.
Some times the fans of Venkatesh get a doubt, ‘Is their hero playing a character actor role in Mahesh’s film?’ “The makers of SVSC aren’t giving due respect to our hero, who is much senior to Mahesh Babu in the Industry. All they need is money,” says a die-hard Venky fan.
Although Venky fans were upset with the decision, the trade analysts say it’s a right move by the producer to cash in on the popularity of Mahesh Babu. “Undoubtedly, Mahesh Babu is bigger than any other star in the Industry. What’s wrong if the makers use his popularity in a right way? Ultimately, it helps the film,” says a trade pundit.
A multi-starrer film in a hero-driven Industry like Tollywood is never gonna be easy, as several external factors come into play. Let’s see, how Dil Raju handles it!

Pawan’s Gabbarsingh fears with High Expectations

0
Films having high expectations can rest assured of a grand opening, but most of the times they would turn dangerous for the film’s prospects at box office. A film with high expectations should meet those to survive at the box office. Or else it would be rejected right on day 1. Even average content won’t help the film to stay afloat!
NTR’s Dammu is a prime example for over hype turning into the biggest disadvantage for the movie. This film was overly hyped by the makers and they didn’t try to lower the expectations at all. Audiences and fans expected this film to be a great visual treat, but Dammu was average at best. Had this film released with a minimum expectations, the response would have been different.
Racha was released amidst nil expectations and turned out to be an average fare. Audiences were more than pleased with that and made the film a blockbuster. The next big release Gabbar Singh is riding on high expectations like Dammu. So the film should live up to the expectations to satisfy the viewers. Or else Gabbar too will have to suffer the consequences of over hype.

Hot Heroine takes break from Dammu disappointment

0
Like expected, this petite beauty is looking like ‘sister’ to Jr.NTR in his latest film ‘Dammu’. Unable to face the severe criticism, she is heard taking a month break from all activities before she joins another Telugu film crew for a shoot.
Trisha is slowly losing her grip on Tollywood and her latest ‘Dammu’ is the perfect example. If you keep the casting debacle which made her an inappropriate pick beside NTR aside, Trisha’s role is also limited and just for songs. A hot beauty that has done meaty roles in terms of both performance and glamour has chosen a pretty ordinary role to add just another movie to her credit with this flick.
However, she revealed that she is taking a break for the whole month of May before she announces the details of her upcoming Telugu projects. Sources revealed that she has only Raviteja’s untitled movie in her hands, otherwise her stint with Tollywood is over. Anyways, let her forget all bad memories in May and see what she is offering for TFI next!

No Good Dances from Jr NTR in Dammu ?

0
Jr. NTR is one of the best dancers that Telugu cinema has ever seen. After Chiranjeevi’s era, he was the first to make a lasting impression on audiences with razor speed dance moves. Later Allu Arjun arrived and proved to be an equally good dancer. NTR was once ranked as the best among the current generation heroes in the dancing department.
Allu Arjun has put in lot of efforts to beat him in dances and with Arya 2 and Badrinath, Arjun took the number one slot in the best dancers list. At the same time NTR stopped to thrill his fans with extra ordinary dance moves. After Adurs, NTR is not dancing like before. In Dammu, even his fans are being shocked to see NTR moving like a very ordinary dancer.
The speed and grace are completely missing. He is one of the heroes who can bring repeat audiences just for dances. But in Dammu, the dancer in NTR was missing. Is this because of poor choreography or lack of interest or due to the injury he suffered during that fatal accident? Whatever may be the reason, NTR fans are badly missing the great dancer. Let’s hope he bounces back very soon and takes over the top place yet again.

Media talk about Dammu Movie !

0

The most waited film ‘Dhammu’ has seen light shaking entire Andhra Pradesh with huge publicity and released in Telugu all over the world.

Now let us see what national media and other popular News Dailies in English say about this film.

TimesOfIndia
Rating: 3.5/5
The movie builds up well in the first half, establishing characters and little subplots. But, in the second half, the action episodes and background score go into overdrive, assaulting your eardrums into submission. You sense a Simha hangover in the way the film plays out but for the only much more gorier direction the portrayal takes as it holds up a brand of factionalism which would have surely made quite a few stomachs turn.

The cinematography and editing are sharp and in tune with the theme of the flick. If you are a fan, you would probably be looking at the bright side.

Rating: 2.5/5
Director Boyapati Seenu’s new film Dammu has an outdated and clichéd storyline, regressive content, and mindless and excessive violence.

NTR has lived up to his hero image by shouldering the burden of this primarily hero-centric film.

Looks like Boyapati Seenu made Dammu exclusively for NTR Jr’s fans. For others it’s an ordeal not worth enduring.

Deccan Chronicle
Rating: 2/5
As the title suggests, Dammu (Valour), is high on action and low on content.

After playing a lover-boy in Ooseravalli, reigning star Jr NTR returns as an angry young man who crushes bones, slits throats and slams opponents to the ground in high-voltage action scenes that will enthrall his fans.

Although Jr NTR puts in a decent performance as a youngster who craves peace in the region, but is forced to take up a sword to protect his zamindar family and the villagers, it would be a bigger miracle if the superstar had managed to convert this contrived plot, with inherent loopholes in the script, into a blockbuster.

Bangalore Mirror: Guts and glitz
Rating: 1/5
The film also has some superb emotional sequences while the interval break leaves you puzzled with a few twists. On the flipside, the narration is packed with too much gore and violence. (Last counted, our hero must have killed at least 50!) Perhaps over-awed by the presence of two heroines Trisha and Karthika, the director has tried to insert a romantic angle and most of the times, it looks artificial. It’s completely tailor-made for NTR and his mass fanbase.

Hindu: A violent mass entertainer
Rating: N/A
There was a time when a film set in a rural background meant feudal wars, a hero trying his best to drill sense into the rival camp and when pushed to the wall, taking up violence to teach his opponents a lesson or two. As an aside, you had more than one heroine to romance the hero. Dammu takes us back by a few decades and treats us to one such story. The film rides high on emotions and violence is thrown in for good measure.

Watch Dammu if you are game for a typical ‘mass’ entertainer where the hero does some thigh-slapping, sings and dances with two heroines, makes you laugh with his comic timing and looks at home in action sequences.

IANS: High on action, low on content
Rating: 2.5/5
After giving two unsuccessful films at the box-office, Jr. NTR’s “Dammu” was expected to turn the tide for the actor, who is known for his fierce dialogue delivery and top class action and dances.

The trailers of the film and the speeches made by NTR and director Sreenu during the audio release function of the film had also aroused lot of expectations but unfortunately the final product does not match the hype created around the release.

NTR plays a larger than life role in “Dammu” and his dynamic performance, action and dialogues are the mainstay of the film. The film boasts of a lot of action, which might not impress the family audiences.

The film lacks engaging comedy elements despite the presence of artists like Brahmanandam and Ali.

The emotional sequences in the second half does not gel with the narration. The two heroines Thrisha and Karthika have lesser scope to perform.

Nasser plays the villain’s role to perfection. Kota, Bharani and Bhanupriya make an impact despite smaller roles.

The film is rich in production values and that is the prime reason for the film’s enhanced quality quotient.

“Dammu” may not be for those who are against too much of action and violence. But if you are a Nandamuri fan, then there are lot of elements in the film that you can enjoy. Perhaps this factor may be the key for the success of the film.

Many mistakes in Dammu movie !

0

Songs: Wrong placement – ‘Raju Vachinadu …’ in First Half (after the entry of NTR into the Raja palace) and ‘Ruler …’ in Second Half (after the intense and powerful chase fight) would be a better option. The much-talked ‘Ruler …’ failed to live up to the expectations – NTR looked misfit as a warrior and the disastrous wig only adds to fans woes. In fact, none of the songs have proper situation and also they weren’t even picturised well.
Dances: Not even a single top-notch dance move from NTR, who is known as a terrific dancer.
Heroines: One (Trisha) looks older than NTR and the other (Karthika) looks taller than him. It’s better to talk less about them.
Casting: Abhinaya as elder sister to NTR is a complete misfit. She looked much younger than the protogonist.
Fights: Few sequences lacked the intensity and powerfulness to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
Screenplay: Poor screenplay in second half played spoil sport.
Logical Errors: 1) In one of the scenes (mud fight) before climax, NTR pledges to kill all his rivals (‘Kotha Modalaindhi, Ratha Rasina Devudu Vachina Apaledu’). But in climax, NTR preaches the value of life and the importance of non-violence. 2) After NTR’s brother-in-law Venu’s death, the servant asks the protogonist to stay away from their village to avoid further massacres (which was not necessary). In the very next scene, NTR was seen waiting for villains and follows the violent mud fight.
Hero’s father character: Suman’s character was not etched well. Showing him in a powerful role in the flashback could have elevated the film. His re-entry in Second Half after locking himself behind closed doors for several years is not justified.
Climax: The fight with the baddies looked completely one-sided, lacking the required punch. Most importantly, the sudden change in villain’s stand is hard to believe.
Director: Boyapati looked like a man with full of OVER-confidence (the same affected the outcome). His interviews before the release and his appearance in the 1st frame of film shows that the success of ‘Simha’ has gone to his head.

Balakrishna Big plans for Adhinayakudu !

0

Postponing of a release date for a couple of times is okay, but testing patience for months is not advisable even if it is from a star hero. But the plans of ‘Adhinayaykudu’ are aimed at catching something else, reveals a source.
This latest film of Nandamuri hero Balakrishna is taking much longer time than expected to hit theatres. As Balayya is not interfering, we feel that he has ‘tikka’, but there is a ‘lekka’ behind it. Insiders revealed that he is not opening mouth about the delay only to postpone the release date till polls hit AP. Sources are saying that ‘Adhinayakudu’ will be releasing just a day before by-polls, to raise the craze for Balayya that in turn helps people to stamp votes for Telugudesam.
Even in the film, this celebrity face of TDP is heard doing a couple of roles with political touch that voice for the poor people of state. Though there is delay in the release of this flick, this seems to be a ‘master plan’ to cash on the patience of fans. But, this is looking good on paper, will it works in reality?

Chandra Babu’s big blow to NTR !

0

There were several reports in media about the rifts between Nara and Nandamuri family. There were evident examples of the rift yesterday on the occasion of NTR’s Dammu movie release. Telugu Desam Party called for a district wide bandh in Krishna district which severely affected the collections on day 1. Morning shows were either stalled or ran late at several places in the district. Due to which, Dammu lost 10-15 Lakhs share and also NTR lost the chance to get an all time record in the district with that.
NTR is reportedly very furious about CBN’s action and is reportedly waiting for a chance to take revenge.
