Rana in another periodic film after ‘Bahubali’

Daggubati Rana after the success of Krishnam vande jagadgurum is very choosy in the roles he picks. He confirmed recently that he is doing the negative role in Rajamouli, Prabhas starrer ‘Baahubali’. Now it is heard that, Rana is boarded into GunaSekhar’s prestigious big budget movie ‘Rudrama Devi’, while Anushka is playing the role of Rani Rudrama Devi.

GunaSekhar after a series of duds, taking this project very seriously and already announced that this one is his dream film and is going to be big budget flick. GunaSekhar himself is producing this film, while Ilayaraja is scoring the music for this film.

So Rana is going to be seen in full action sequences in the periodic flicks Rudramadevi and Baabubali.

NTR’s new movie launched

Young Tiger NTR seem to be on a signing spree these days. Two of his films – Baadshah and Harish Shankar movie are on sets and now he had launched his third. The movie directed by Kandireega fame Santosh Srinivas was launched a short while ago in Annapurna Studios. NTR sounded the clap board on god photos for the opening shot and Srinu Vaitla switched on the camera.  Nandini Reddy, Vamsi Paidipally, VV Vinayak, Srinu Vaitla, Koratala Siva, Dil Raju, Ram Achanta, Gopinath Achanta, SV Krishna Reddy, Atchi Reddy, Boyapati Srinu and Meher Ramesh had attended the launch and wished the movie unit for success.

The movie is tentatively titled ‘Rabhasa’. The regular shooting of the movie will begin from May 16 and the makers are aiming for Sankranthi 2014 release. Samantha will be pairing up with NTR in this movie. Devi Sri Prasad will be scoring music for this movie. Bellamkonda Suresh will be producing this movie under his Sri Lakshmi Narasimha productions  banner.

Prakash Raj for Tamil KBC

Famous Vijay TV in Tamil Nadu had roped in Prakash Raj to host their popular game show  ‘Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi’ (NVOK). The show is the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepathi hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Actor Suriya had hosted the previous season of the show. And now Prakash Raj will be replacing him this season.

Vijay TV will be airing this show on TV for 90 minutes at primetime slot starting from 8 pm to 9.30 pm. They have made a huge publicity of the show. The promotions have started at a huge level with the campaigns named as ‘4321’ (4321 stands for 4 options, 3 lifelines, 2 you & me, 1 crore).

Harish Shankar’s Birthday gift to NTR

In general, people plan for gifts days before or at most a month before some one’s Birthday. But sensational director Harish Shankar is planning Birthday gift for his hero, NTR three months before. In to the details, Harish Shankar is planning to release the first look teaser of the movie on May 20th, the Birthday date of NTR. Harish had a concept in mind regarding the teaser and is confident that it will create swirls in audience and trade.
The movie had completed its first schedule last month. Currently,  few scenes involving Shruti Hassan are being canned.  Samantha is the  female lead. Thaman is composing tunes for this movie. Dil Raju will be producing the movie under his Sri Venkateswara films banner. Chota K Naidu is handling the cinematography. The movie is being planned for a July 9th release.

Okkadu remake in Hindi

Okkadu is the movie which propelled Mahesh Babu to fame. It is the first commercial mass hit in the actor’s career. And now that movie is going to be remade in Bollywood. Ishaqzaade fame Arjun Kapoor will be playing the lead role in the movie. He is currently busy in the shootings of  other projects including ‘Aurangazeb’, ‘Gundey’ and ‘2 States’. Once he is done with these films, he will start shooting for the remake.

Abbas – Masthan duo will be wielding megaphone for this project. Arjun Kapoor’s father Boney Kapoor himself will produce the movie. Currently, the hunt for heroine is going on. The movie is expected to go on to sets in June 2013

Krish to direct Pawan Kalyan !

The buzz from the Film Nagar scuttlebutt machinery goes that Power Star Pawan Kalyan had reportedly expressed his interest for doing a project to be directed by Krish. Pawan Kalyan is reportedly very impressed with Krish’s movies and had expressed his willingness to team up with him. Krish will now have to work on the script and give a hearing to Pawan. He also promised bulk dates if he liked the subject

Unconfirmed sources say Pawan put off Sampath Nandi project and is taking up this project. Also this project will go on to sets only after Krish completes Mahesh Babu movie. Pawan Kalyan is currently in Pollachi shooting for his next film under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. The shooting there will go on till 22nd of this month.

Farmers to hang Congress

During the last ten year rule of Cong in the state of Andhra Pradesh many farmers committed suicides due to acute power shortage. Though Govt sources and the party deny it vehemently, many independent sources and even media took up the issue at the national level.

Opposition protested against Govt in various methods but nothing could make Govt budge. Frustrated TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohanreddy said farmers are waiting for the first opportunity to hang Congress due its failure to protect their interests. He alleged that while the farmers are unable to come out of the quagmaire of problems, Govt is unable to find solution with CM Kiran turning out to be complete novice.

During that time,leader of the opposition K.Rosaiah criticising him said Naidu sporting injury at first came with left hand strapped but later he came with strapped right hand. He wondered what magic it was. Later for unknown reasons strap completely disappeared from the hands of Babu.
 
Now TDP is exacting revenge after 10yrs on YSR Cong. It is known that Sharmila called off her yatra due to sprained leg. TDP leaders went hammer and tongs saying at first photos came in media that Sharmila’s left knee was injured but now snaps are coming with Sharmila’s right leg strapped with bandage.

Death During Religious Festivals Inevitable

We were shocked over the death of some 20 or more pilgrims in the Maha Kumbh Mela and injuries to more than a score. It is claimed that there was sudden rush which caused some iron piece to break, etc. That only explains what was the proximate cause of the accident. It does not talk of why such a sudden rush was allowed to build up.

We have been assured several times that all care has been taken to ensure that no untoward things happen and that several thousands of police personnel have been drafted and they would ensure that everything would proceed smoothly without a hitch. But the result is there for all to see. There are still several days to go for the Mela to end and one keeps the fingers crossed.

Promptly relief of Rs 1 lakh has been sanctioned to be handed over to the families oof each of the victims. An enquiry committee would perhaps be appointed which would come up with measures to prevent recurrence of such mishaps, the Govt would announce that the recommendations would be implemented very sincerely, and promptly the report would be consigned to the honourable waste paper basket. Several similar accidents occurred during religious festivals in the past but no lessons have been learnt .

Gunashekar ropes in Rana for Rudramma Devi

After a series of heavy flops, Gunashekar’s career is at cross roads. He desperately needs a hit with this movie to steady his ship. So, he is putting his 100% efforts in his next project, Rudramma Devi. Besides roping Anushka to play the title role, he now roped in Rana Daggubati to play the role of Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, the prince of Nidavardhyapuram (Present Nidadavole).

Guna will himself produce the movie and had roped in some top class technicians on to the project. Director Gunasekhar says that the film will be India’s first historical stereoscopic 3D film and the regular shooting of the movie will begin in February 2013.

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) convenor Prof M Kodandaram came down heavily on Union Minister Chiranjeevi for commenting that everybody would forget Telangana by 2014 elections.

“As an actor, Chiranjeevi might have forgotten his script and caused a lot of confusion. If an actor reads out the script of another actor, it will cause a lot of chaos. Chiranjeevi should remember what his script was before the 2009 elections. He said his party was committed to achieve “Samajika Telangana” and he had agreed for the same during the all-party meeting. He might have forgotten all that now, but the people of Telangana have not,” Kodandaram said.

Kodandaram also found fault with union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for going back on the deadline for Telangana.

“He is under pressure from Seemandhra leaders. And there is no merit in the argument that Telangana demand would lead to more demands for smaller states,” he said.

CM’s Indirect Target on Botsa

There seems to be more to the Income Tax raids on the popular Telugu film producer Bandla Ganesh than what meets the eye.For the last two days, the Income Tax officials have been conducting raids on the residence and offices of Bandla Ganesh. On Monday, the IT officials took him to their office for questioning based on the documents they had allegedly seized during the raids.

However, sources say the I-T raids could have been targeted at Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana who was engaged in a sort of cold war with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. There were reports that it was Botsa who is the actual financier for Ganesh’s films, but in a clandestine manner. In fact, Ganesh himself admitted in the past that he was a close associate of Botsa.

The meeting of the PCC president with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy within an hour of the IT officials’ raid on Ganesh house on Tuesday lent credence to the speculations that the raids definitely have political implications.

Ganesh who began as a small time comedian in films, produced several movies in the past such as Anjaneyulu and Gabbar Singh and now, he is producing Badshah with Junior NTR, besides two more films with Allu Arjun and Ram Charan Teja. And definitely, he has to have the sound financial background. The IT officials are now digging his background.

Nagarjuna new look for Next Movie

King Nagarjuna is experimenting a new look for the item number in his forthcoming action flick Bhai. He is looking totally different with new hairstyle and costume. Nag hasn’t tried this kind of look before in his long career.

Brazilian Model and Bollywood Actress Nathalia Kaur is doing the item song opposite Nagarjuna. Item song is shooted in two different locations, at Bangkok and in the Annapurna Studio.

Veerabhadram of Sunil’s Poolarangadu fame is directing this action entertainer. Richa Gangopadyay is the female lead for the first time opposite Nagarjuna. The movie is expected to release in the second half of this year.

Harikrishna Plays Games with his Sons

Harikrishna son of Late NTR tried all means to prove himself in politics and films. However though he starred in few films except for Seetaiah nothing clicked for him and even in politics though he was made RS MP by Chandra Babu later differences cropped in and later sidelined him forever.

From then on he has been trying his best to bring Babu down to earth. However all his plans proved futile as his actor brother Natasimha Balakrishna sided with Chandra Babu after getting his daughter married to Babu’s son.Now Harikrishna is indulging in powerful games with his star sons Young Tiger NTR and Kalyan Ram.

While NTR campaigned for the party in the last elections, with Babu sidelining him irked him so much that many thought that he was behind rebellion of Kodali Nani. NTR felt humiliated when TDP announced bandh during his film Dammu release. From then on he is nurturing grudge and is waiting to wreak vengeance.

However Harikrishna and NTR many times made it clear that they will work for the party.

Now buzz is his other son Kalyan Ram is also expressing his wish to serve the party. Kalyan Ram is currently busy with 3D entertainer OM. It has to be seen how Harikrishna unleashes his star sons and whether it will have positive or negative impact.

Why no cases against Chiru and Botsa?

Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila questioned why the government had not registered a case against union minister Chiranjeevi though IT authorities found Rs. 70 crore in his daughter’s house. She also questioned why there were no cases against the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana though there were several corruption charges against him.

Addressing meetings during her ‘Maro Praja Prasthanam’ in Nalgonda district on Monday, she said her brother Jagan was tiger, though pushed into a jail because of political considerations. She said she was accepting the challenge of Congress chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy that they should fight it out with the people.

Chandra Babu completes 2000 kms

TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu has said that a debate about how good the TDP rule was and how the Congress made it chaotic has already started and asked his party ranks to spread this debate to every nook and corner of the state.

Naidu held a teleconference from Guntur where he is continuing his ‘Vastunnaa Meekosam’ pada yatra, with constituency in charges, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other leaders on Tuesday. He has congratulated party leaders who worked for the victory of TDP in the cooperative elections. He said despite the government creating hurdles right from member enrolment to elections, he said the party proved its mettle. He has expressed his satisfaction over completing 2000 km in his walkathon of 132 days. Stating that only TDP could give an efficient and corruption-free governance, he said party ranks should take this message into the people. He also asked them to re-launch the ‘Palle Palleku’ programme from February 15, to take the message of the party to every village.

Naidu also asked party men to work for the victory of MLC candidates from the graduates constituency, Chigurupati Vara Prasad, Kasumilli Venkata Suryanarayana Rao (Chinababu) and Chandrasekhar. He also directed them to the public hearings of discoms on February 19, 21, 23 and 25 in Vijayawada, Visakha, Warangal and Hyderabad and protest against power charges hike to the tune of over Rs. 12,000 crore.

Nara Lokesh Vs Y S Jagan in Pulivendula

TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh appears to be preparing to test his strength in Pulivendula, home turf of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

According to information, Nara Lokesh is planning a mega programme in Pulivendula under the auspices of the NTR Trust, to enthuse the party workers.

Lokesh appears to be preparing to step into the shoes of his father as early as possible. He has been participating in the party activities actively in recent times. However, he is trying to go into the field, mingle with the party workers and prove his charisma, before actually taking a major role in the party.

To start with, he is widely participating in marriages and other functions of party leaders and cadres, building up goodwill. He is also organizing some programmes under the auspices of the NTR Trust. It is as part of this initiative that he is planning a programme in Jagan’s fortress Pulivendula. Local leaders are making massive arrangements for Lokesh’s programme. Lokesh is also trying to bring his father-in-law and actor Nandamuri Bala Krishna to the programme, to make it a mega event. Meanwhile Bala Krishna’s daughter Brahmani (Lokesh’s wife) is increasingly managing the affairs of Heritage Foods, the family business of Chandra Babu Naidu, as Lokesh is spending more time on politics than the business.
