Srikanth Addala’s next titled ‘Gollabhama’

Srikanth Addala who wielded megaphone for the biggest multistarer movie of this decade, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu had wrapped up the promotional activity of the movie and had already began working on the script of his next movie. Our sources reveal that the movie will be tentatively titled ‘Gollabhama’. Gollabhama is the Telugu word of Grass Hopper. Srikanth Addala is one director who selects interesting titles for his movie. Both his movies – Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu have become point of discussion when their titles are announced.

However we are yet to know the casting details of the movie. Few days ago we have a news that Srikanth is going to direct a film introducing Mega brother Naga Babu’s son Varun Tej. We will have to see if ‘Gollabhama’ is the title of that project!

Mani Ratnam says No to Kadal distributors

Ace film maker Mani Ratnam may have the history of reimbursing losses to the distributors when he delivers a dud. But this time with Kadali, he does seem to have a different idea. The movie which released on February 1st went on to become one of the biggest duds of Mani Ratnam’s career. Few distributors had reached Mani Ratnam’s office yesterday and had demanded to reimburse their losses due to the bad performance of the movie. However, Mani Ratnam made it clear that neither he nor his Madras Talkies will be responsible for the loss. He also added that he had sold the entire movie to Gemini Industries and Imaging Ltd in March 2012 itself on MG (Minimum Guarantee) basis. And he or his production house can not be made responsible to any one else.

Owing to bad mouth talk and reviews, the movie is not registering at least 20% occupancy any where. Kadal is directed and produced by Mani Ratnam. The film features debutant Gautham Karthik, son of actor Karthik and debutant Thulasi Nair, daughter of Radha in the lead roles. The movie was dubbed and released simultaneously in Telugu as Kadali and Telugu version too met the same fate as Kadal. AR Rahman has composed music for the movie.

One more controversy in Tollywood!

There seem to be some black magic happening on Tollywood. People seem to become so sensitive and are getting offended so easily for no reason. It happened for Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu, Denikaina Ready, Vishwaroopam and Kadali. And it is now happening to Prabhas starer Mirchi. Few leaders from Arekatika Porata Samithi had stormed in to Sandhya theater at RTC ‘X’ Roads and demanded the immediate removal of words like ‘Katika’ and ‘Kasayi’ from the movie. They made it clear that those words are intended to demean their work and insult their community. They also threatened that they would not let the director and producer go if they did not remove those words from the movie.

The Police had to intervene in between and arrest them to prevent any untoward incidents. On the other side, Mirchi had a great weekend at the box office and raked in the best figures of Prabhas’ career.

Kajal Agarwal now belongs to one breed of heroines who have 2 100 Crore movies for her first two movies. Her debut Bollywood movie, Singham had raked in as much as 125Crore and now her second Bollywood film, Special 26 which released on last Friday opened to tremendous positive talk and reviews. The movie started slow at the box office and is steadily increasing its performance. Several trade analysts are predicting it to be another entry in the 100Crore club. If it happens, Kajal Agarwal may be the only heroine who has two consecutive 100Crore movies. We will have to see if this achievement turns her diary busy in Bollywood!

Kajal is currently pairing up with NTR in Baadshah. She will also be romancing Allu Arjun as both of them do a cameo performance in Ram Charan’s upcoming movie, Yevadu.

Zanjeer climax shoot from today

The climax shoot of Ram Charan’s debut movie Zanjeer will begin today there. And on the other side, the makers of Zanjeer are planning to release the first look teaser of the movie on the giant screen during Telugu Warriors and Mumbai Heroes CCL Match on February 18th. Ram Charan and Apoora Lakhia will also play the match. Apoorva Lakhia who participated in yesterday’s CCL match between Mumbai heroes and Kerala Strikers flew back to Mumbai and is overseeing the preprations

The release date of Zanjeer has been locked as April 12, 2013. The movie is the remake on 1973 blockbuster movie, Zanjeer. Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead in the movie. Apoorva Lakhia is wielding the megaphone.The movie is being made in Telugu and Hindi and both the versions will have simultaneous release.

Rajamouli goes on a location hunt

Tollywood’s Most successful director SS Rajamouli is very busy with the preparatory camp of his next movie, Baahubali with Prabhas playing the lead role. Rajamouli and his team are going to Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next 3 days for scouting proper locations for the movie. It is also known to our readers that Rana, Prabhas and Anushka are being trained in sword fighting. Rana will be seen as Prabhas’ brother in the movie and it will be a negative role.

The movie which is reportedly the biggest budget movie ever made in Telugu, will go on to sets in April. Anushka will be pairing with Prabhas in this movie for the third time after Billa and Mirchi. This movie will be jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media banner and will be presented by K Raghavendra Rao. Keeravani will be scoring the music.

Greeku Veerudu is almost complete

Nagarjuna starer Greeku Veerudu is nearing completion. The entire movie is shot except for a song. The song will be shot in a special set erected at Annapurna 7 acres studio from February 22nd. The movie will enter in to post production early next month and the makers are planning to release the movie towards the end of March. The makers of the movie had recently released the first look of the movie. Nagarjuna’s stylish attire and new look attracted the audience and now there is a decent amount of excitement in the trade too.

Nagarjuna will be seen as an NRI who comes to India for the first time. Nayantara is pairing up with Nagarjuna in this movie. Second time after Boss. Dasarath is directing Greeku Veerudu and D Sivaprasad Reddy is producing the film on Kamakshi Kala Movies banner. Thaman is composing the music.

Ace film maker Mani Ratnam is a worried man after his recent movie Kadal failed miserably at the box office. But his troubles are far from over. The distributors are now flocking to Mani Ratnam’s office to bear some amount of their losses. ‘Kadal released last week in Telugu (as Kadali) and Tamil  but fell flat at the box office owing to poor reviews and bad mouth talk. The movie failed to attract even decent amount collections and finally ended as one of the biggest disasters in Mani Ratnam’s career. Mani Ratnam earlier had also reimbursed some amount to his distributors when his Iruvar movie bombed at the box office.

Looks like Trisha is following Amala Paul, it is known to everyone that Amala Paul recently done some dear devil stunt for her upcoming film “Iddaramayulu”, now our senior actress Trisha had done stunt scenes in her upcoming flick “Rum”. Apparently the actress is attempting a few daredevil stunts, which are directed by stunt master Vijayan. She tweeted in her twitter that, “This will be my first action sequence ever. Though the shots are risky, I am thrilled about it. I have not rehearsed any stunts so far. Vijayan master is helping me on the sets and ensures I perform well in the action scenes.
It is a refreshingly different experience to me. Day1-Action begins..Vijayan master on a roll. Swerving cars twisty lanes and me at the wheel. Phew phew!!New found respect for all heros”. The actress, who is currently shooting for the flick in Dubai, also shared her action trials with her fans on the social networking sites.  So, everyone can watch Trisha’s Dear devil Stunts in her twitter before the movie release.

Cost of Paada Yathra and other Agitations

Chandra Babu Naidu, the ex-Chief Minister and TDP Chief, in his bid to regain power, is on a Paada Yaatra. He realized that the late YSR got into the Chief Minister’s seat thanks to his Paada Yaatra. So in a desperate bid to regain his seat, Naidu thought that he would emulate YSR and so he started on his own yatra of about 2000 kms against YSR’s 1400 kms. Of course, YSR did his yatra in mid-summer Naidu’s is in midwinter which takes away the sheen though it is 50% longer.It is estimated by TDP that it costs more than Rs 1 lakh for each kilometer of Naidu’s yatra – for the vehicles, the support staff, etc. which means that for the 2000 kms it could cost Rs 20 crores plus.

All agitations cost money. KCR, the TRS chief has been organizing VantaVarpu, dances, clothes washing festivals etc on highways, spending untold crores of rupees. He has been calling for bandhs as frequently as it pleases him causing loss of crores of rupees to the pubic and resulting in plunging the lakhs of daily wage earners who have to engage in hard labour to have a morsel, in absolute misery. And of course there are the political suicides – whether triggered by YSR’s death or demand for separate Telengana which costs the people quite a lot of money because of disruption of transport, bandhs, etc and the inevitable compensation to the vistim’s family by the government and political parties

India has the reputation of being a POOR country. But all these TAMASHAS are costing the public and the government and others very much, but nobody seems to mind it. It appears as if all involved – or, not involved – seem to think that it is not a drain but that the drama enlivens people

Nagarjuna is a Worried Man !

Popular Jeweler brand, Kalyan Jewelers had roped in Tollywood Manmadhudu Nagarjuna to endorse their brand in Andhra Pradesh. The Jewelers ads are mostly related to g the brand assuring its perfection in weight and reliability. Nagarjuna was paid a hefty sum and is happily endorsing the brand. But now every thing turned topsy turvy. Up on a private complaint, the department of Weights and Measures had raided Kalyan Jewelers show room in Kurnool and found fault with the scales used in the show room. They have decided that the show room is cheating its customers and looting their money.

Nagarjuna is reportedly worried about this development. He is upset that this may lead to the damage of his image in Public’s point of view. On the other side, Nagarjuna’s PR team is in talks with Kalyan Jewelers team regarding the detailed report of the incident. Sources close to the actor say the actor will even go to the extent of cancelling the contract with them if these allegations are proved.

Pawan Kalyan’s fans are eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of the actor in his upcoming movie directed by Trivikram. Trivikram is one director who loves Pawan a lot and knows how fans would like him. Their last venture Jalsa also had best of Pawan Kalyan’s looks. However, the shooting had just began and the first look release is still a long way to go.But the wait is no longer long. Few fans have caught the look on their cameras when the actor is shooting at City Center mall at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Pawan Kalyan seem to have slimmed down a bit and is with a clean shave. A look similar to that of in Jalsa and Kushi.

After Jalsa, Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas team up for the second time in this action entertainer. The movie unit will fly down to Pollachi very soon. Pawan Kalyan’s Pollachi sentiment

Telugu film industry is always a land of sentiments. There are many things associated with these sentiments right from movie muhurath to movie release. But Pawan Kalyan does not seem to be a man of sentiments but his fans are certainly so. Going in to the detail, The actor’s recent blockbuster movie Gabbar Singh was extensively shot in Pollachi. And now the unit of Pawan’s upcoming movie under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas will also be going there. The 15 day Pollachi schedule will begin from 10th of this month. The movie shooting is complete except for a song and the post production activity is going on at brisk pace. The audio release of the movie will take place in this month and movie will hit the screens in the next month. The director of the movie is so impressed with actress’ performance in the movie and is heaping praises on her saying that her performance is no less than any other actresses who played prostitute roles earlier.

10th Class and Notebook fame Chandu is yielding megaphone for this venture. Prema OkaMaikam has Rahul (Tyson) of Happy Days fame as male lead and will be in the backdrop of Hyderabad. Premiste fame Saranya are playing important roles. The first look of the movie was released on New year day and has an interesting caption “A Musical Love Story between a Prostitute, a writer and a singer.

Is Simha’s sacrifice worth ?

When Tollywood stars pass their prime they eye political career taking refuge under serving people. Many however don’t believe their words but watch their acts on real screen for a change and enjoy their antics. People expected many things when Mega Star Chiranjeevi promised heaven with his Praja Rajyam Party. However he became Union Minister after merging his party with Cong. Now he is busy dancing as Tourism Minister in various countries. Mega Star might have failed his fans as they couldn’t support him any more, however on personal front he has everything to gain as Tourism Minister.

Natasimha Balakrishna is another hero smitten by political bug. He need not undergo the pains of launching a party as he has his dad NTR’s TDP which is now headed by Chandra Babu. So he has already announced his political entry and is now staying away from doing films. However many wonder what he has to gain from his silver screen sacrifice. He can at the most become MLA as he revealed that he will not leave the state. IF TDP wins in AP the chances of which are very remote at present, he may at the most become a minister but not CM as the post is for Chandra Babu. So unlike Chiranjeevi he can not expect to gain more and visit overseas and dance accordingly. Is this sacrifice worth?

It’s now or never for Jagan !

During the regime of YS.Rajasekhar Reddy only few used to know about his son YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy. Virtually he used to be a non entity spending most of his time in the posh villa at Bengaluru and making weekend visits to Hyderabad. Many underestimated him after the sudden and tragic demise of YSR.
Just like commoners even all powerful Cong High Command underestimated him,completely getting their strategies wrong. In the mean while Jagan meticulously strengthened himself politically and personally striking a personal emotional chord with masses. So even when he was sent to jail on allegations of disproportionate assets case, it boomeranged on Cong High Command as many believe that CBI is acting at the behest of Cong.Now situation in Andhra Pradesh is like now or never for Jagan.

This is because the emotions of people will not last long and if he can not capture power in 2014, he can not after another 5 yrs as things would be different. Even now things are fast changing as YSR sympathy factor alone can not work and many are supporting Jagan as they expect that he will bring down prices and even ensure in proper administration. They cite power cuts, gas hike,diesel hike, transportation charges increase, conditions for scholar ships.

So even if Jagan white washes Cong, he will have all these problems to solve. Many feel that CM crown full of thorns is awaiting him as people already stopped believing former CM Chandrababu. Many are waiting to see how Jagan solves these problems. Some feel 90% of the problems are his dad YSR’s creations itself.

Story –

Jai (Prabhas) is a fun loving youngster who works as an architect in Italy. He lives there happily and then he falls flat for Manasa (Richa Gangopadhyay) who studies MS there. To convince her parents for marriage, Jai lands in India. After much struggle, he manages to impress them and then his past related to Vennela (Anushka) who is his Mardalu is revealed. Both the families are rivals in faction. What happens next forms the actual story.

Artists Performances –

Prabhas looks cool in foreign land. His dialogue delivery is contrived as a posh guy. Back in India, he looks convincingly good. He displayed right emotions in the action sequences and his dialogue delivery in emotional scenes have also improved. Koratala Siva had shown him exactly in the way fans wanted to see him. He had put good efforts in dances too. Anushka looked cute on screen and the chemistry between Anushka and Prabhas worked out very well. Richa Gangopadhyay looked completely out of shape. She did not suit Prabhas in any ways. She had a little role in the movie and her performance is just okay.

Brahmanandham as Veera Pratap is not fully utilized. Sampath had got a crucial role and his performance is good as Protagonist. Satyaraj, Nagineedu, Raghu Babu, Kasi Viswanath are good in the roles they are offered. Rest of them are okay.

Technical Performances:

Mirchi is the debut directorial venture of Koratala Siva. He seem to have a script which is an amalgamation of several movies in Telugu like Athidhi, Bhadra and Krishna. He is successful as writer as always and had written some very good dialogues for Prabhas But the director in him failed to make a mark. The execution part of the movie is bad. He had unnecessarily embedded too much of action part in the movie which foiled the flow of the part. If rightly dealt, the movie would have been a good family entertainer.

Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are chart busters. They are shot well too. The re-recording is taken good care of. Madhie’s cinematography is just okay and the grading is excellent. Kotagiri’s Editing could have been a lot better.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie started promisingly but progresses with out any excitement The interval bang is predictive again. The entertainment part is good but not great. The second half of the movie goes wayward with too many of unnecessary action sequences disrupting the flow of the movie. The pace of the movie slowed down gradually as the movie approaches climax. The climax fight is dragged too.

Finally, Mirchi is a good script let down by bad execution. Prabhas’ ubercool looks, heroism elevation scenes is the saving grace of movie and makes it a one time watch!

KCR preventing my Entry !

The outspoken former minister and Telangana Nagara Samithi founder Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy has accused TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao of preventing his entry into the Telangana Political JAC.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the Nagarkurnool MLA alleged that the TRS was working only for big win in the 2014 election and not for achievement of Telangana State. Accusing the TRS leader with playing “vote politics” in the name of Telangana agitation, Nagam said the TRS was not functioning as a party steering separate State agitation. He alleged that instead of a united agitation, parallel agitations were running in the region for separate State. He also charged KCR with trying to get political benefit by engineering differences among the separatists.

Questioning why the TRS executive failed to include suicides of Telangana youth in the agenda, he said the TRS, which passed resolutions on new Railway lines and LPG cylinders, failed to pass a resolution appealing to the youths not to commit suicides. Demanding that the Telangana ministers boycott the ensuing Assembly Budget Session and submit their resignations, Dr Nagam said that Union minister incharge of State Congress Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad would be taught a fitting lesson if he visited the State again.
