KCR following Three Musketeers

0
Telangana Tiger KCR is following his sworn seemandhra enemies Chandra Babu Naidu, Jagan Mohan Reddy and Kiran Kumar. Buzz is KCR again wants to intensify the TRS movement. Hence he is going to start his walk throughout Telangana. He arranged an emergency meeting in party office yesterday evening and decided the schedule for next month regarding this movement. In which KCR’s ‘Telangana Padayathra’ was an important agenda.

KCR wants to intensify the movement if the Central Government’s decision is not in favor of Telangana. Few people from the party said, the walk would likely begin from February after the decision of high command. Reportedly KCR said that he doesn’t believe in Congress, which gave a deadline of one month for the decision on Telangana. They will come up with silly packages just to subside the movement and will show empty hand to us and we are not going to sit quiet this time.

0

Then there is the bikini bombshell Poonam Pandey who is using Twitter to the fullest and giving various poses of herself in bikini and sometimes in seminude. Let us wait to see what 2013 has to offer from them.

Telugu Heroes – Who is Top & Who is Flop in 2012

0
It is very rare to see few heroes scoring their career best hits in same year. This year something like that happened and even those heroes who were not in form bounced back. Here’s a look at the successful and flop heroes of 2012.

Pawan Kalyan

In 2008, Pawan Kalyan scored a hit with ‘Jalsa’ and remained number 1 for that year. But after that he came down badly with three big flops in the form of ‘Puli’ ‘Teen Maar’ ‘Panjaa’. This brought down his range. But the rate at which he fell down he bounced back with super form through the film ‘Gabbar Singh’. He gave his career best, this year’s biggest hit and became the second best film after ‘Magadheera’ in Tollywood history. His other film ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ didn’t meet expectations but openings rocked. Though it became an average flick, Pawan remained the ‘Star Of The Year’ for 2012.

Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu came to super form with ‘Dookudu’ and proved his star power with ‘Businessman’. Though ‘Businessman’ didn’t have material with just one man show he took the film to success. His future films also raise expectations. The lineup looks strong. 2013 will see two films of Mahesh and he is already in contention to become ‘Star Of 2013’. Unless the other stars score big they can’t compete with Mahesh’s Dookudu.

Ram Charan

The title logo of the film ‘Racha’ was designed in such a way that Ram Charan’s name was seen in it. True to that, Charan proved his stamina this year. To all those who doubted that his success came because of directors, Charan silenced them with ‘Racha’. Rajamouli stated that ‘Racha’ showed Charan’s star power. By converting an average flick to a hit, Charan joined the league of big heroes. That is why the pre-release business for his future films has hit the sky.

Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun is not rated among the top heroes but with ‘Julayi’ he proved that his films have strong commercial success range. Though Trivikram factor worked, Bunny’s crowd pulling capacity cannot be underestimated. With this film, he also reached stars list.

Jr NTR

From a long time, Jr NTR is not getting the right film. He has the stamina to create new records and has huge following. But no one is using his full potential. Here’s hoping that with ‘Baadshah’ he will show his ‘Dammu’. Same is the case with Prabhas who disappointed with ‘Rebel’ or else he has potential upto Rs 40 crores at box office. If he can prove that with ‘Mirchi’ what more can the fans ask for.

Flop hero of the year

If there is one year in his life that Ravi Teja wants to erase it would be 2012. He came with 4 films – Nippu, Daruvu, Saarocharu, Devudu Chesina Manushulu. None of them clicked. Moreover, they were termed as major duds and Ravi Teja’s craze came down. At least next year he should prove his form with ‘Balupu’ or else…

Seniors ‘Hawa’ going down

Tollywood has gone into young heroes hands. Senior heroes are history as their films are not attracting the crowds. Among them, Nagarjuna was somewhat better. ‘Shirdi Sai’ ‘Damarukam’ didn’t bring him bad name. Venkatesh got pass marks with ‘Bodyguard’. Balakrishna scored three consecutive flops. Even he can forget this year.

Comedy kings

Full length comedy flicks are reducing and only two men are running them, Allari Naresh and Sunil. Both proved their mettle. ‘Sudigadu’ ‘Poolarangadu’ scored big hits and in this genre, only these two are the kings. We will be seeing tough fight between two in future.

Great comeback

Nitin was no longer considered as a hero with his record breaking flops but he came back to form. He scored a hit with ‘Ishq’ and became busy. By doing films beyond his capabilities, Nitin has now discovered what’s best for him. So he may not face another slump anymore.

Annayya hit..Thammudu flop

Vishnu scored a hit after long time with ‘Dhenikaina Ready’. Manchu Manoj scored two flops with ‘Mr Nookayya’ ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’. Mohan Babu dreamt that Manoj will become a star with ‘Uu Kodathara..’ but scene got reversed.

Rana scored..Chaitu didn’t

Rana has created doubts on his acting skills and tasted two flops with films ‘Naa Ishtam’ ‘Department’. But he scored as an actor with ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’. But Naga Chaitanya scored zero this year. This year worked for Nani and big directors eyes fell on him. Ram came with only one film and it flopped. Audience is not caring about Srikanth, Jagapathi Babu.

Overall, in this year, some of them rocked while some of them flopped. If the flop actors can prove themselves in 2013, business will be good.

Police complaint against Lokesh

0
Telangana lawyers have complained to the Jubilee Hills police that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh made improper remarks against TRS MLA T. Harish Rao.They requested the police to register a cyber crime case against him.

Stating that Lokesh had no basic knowledge of history, lawyers demanded that Lokesh tender an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana. The lawyers said they would offer an attender post to Lokesh in the Secretariat in the Telangana State. They warned Lokesh that they would not keep quiet if he made insane remarks. The lawyers said Harish Rao has thrown the challenge to Chandrababu Naidu when he took a U turn when the Centre announced launching of the Telangana process in 2009. They said they would expose all these conspiracies of Naidu.

It may be mentioned here that Nara Lokesh has tweeted stating that the NTR Trust Bhavan was awaiting Harish Rao’s application for attender post. He also said that K T Ramarao should state when he would resign.

Harish Rao had earlier stated that he would join the NTR Trust Bhavan, headquarters of the TDP, as an attender, if Chandrababu Naidu gave a letter to the Centre favoring Telangana. Stating that the TDP had given the letter at the all-party meeting on December 28, Lokesh tweeted sarcastically about Harish and KTR’s public oaths.

Gutta eyeing at YSRC?

0
Congress MP Gutta Sukhinder Reddy said that if the central government does not concede Telangana, they would choose their ways.

Talking to the media here on Saturday, he said though people of Seemandhra were also for state bifurcation, MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao were opposing Telangana and provoking the students. He said all the ‘T’ Congress MPs told the party president Sonia Gandhi that they would choose their own ways if the party doesn’t announce Telangana. He said union minister Jaipal Reddy would also resign, though he might continue in the Congress party.

It may be mentioned here that reports were doing the rounds that Gutta may join the YSR Congress along with another MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and his brother and former minister Venkata Reddy.

Not Sunil, Its Naga Chaitanya

0
Sunil and Naga Chaitanya are acting together in the Telugu remake of Tamil Blockbuster movie, Vettai. The movie is being shot in Vishakapatnam right now.  But Naga Chaitanya does not maintain that filmy relation off screen. Going in to detail, we have published a news item that Sunil will be playing the lead role in the Telugu remake of Bollywood Super hit Welcome. But now Naga Chaitanya seem to have bagged that role. We do not know the exact reason for the change but now Chaitanya will be reprising the role of Akshay Kumar from the original. Mohan Babu will play the role of Nana Patekhar from the original. Real Star Srihari will be seen in an important role. Srivasu of ‘Lakshyam’ fame will be directing the film which will be made on Mohan Babu’s Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner.

Welcome is a comedy film release in 2007 directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala & Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. The movie intially released to mixed critical reviews and despite initial competition from Taare Zameen Par, but was a strong financial success at the box office later.

2012 – Dreadful year for dubbed movies

0
2012 was not a fruitful year for dubbed films. Overall 100 movies were dubbed from Hollywood, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and other languages. Not one was able to make a mark. Let us evaluate some popular movies, which fared well in their languages but gathered dust in Tollywood.

The year started off with Shankar’s much-awaited Snehitudu staring Vijay. And there are several other movies like Malligadu, Shakuni, 3, David Billa, Nirantharam Nee Oohale, Mask, Charulatha, Brothers, Thuppaki, Gajaraju have bitten dust this year. From the Hollywood, we have Spiderman 3 and Life of Pi that made some impact but rest of them have bombed severely.

Lets see if 2013 will be any different for dubbed movies.

Will CBN give up Yatra on January 26?

0
The TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu appears to be thinking of giving up his ‘Vastunnaa Meekosam’ Pada Yatra as it turned out to be more of a health hazard than he had imagined initially.

Launching himself into the marathon walkathon at the age of 63, Naidu caused quite an anxiety to his family members and senior colleagues. He has faced several health problems and needed regular medical attention. His wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and other family members are very much worried about his health. It is learnt that Naidu is thinking of giving up the Yatra on January 26, giving it a grand finale on the occasion of the Republic Day.

A feeler to this extent was given by senior leader Kambhampati Rama Mohan Rao on Saturday. He said all the party men want Naidu to give up his yatra on January 26.  He said Naidu’s yatra and the tremendous response he got baffled other parties. He said the party would announce the future plan of Naidu’s pada yatra on January 1.

Heroine Nagma to Rajya Sabha?

0
Nagma, one time hot heroine is trying her luck in politics. Her name is doing the rounds for Rajya Sabha membership as Congress candidate from Maharashtra. Some prominent Congress leaders are making efforts in the capital to send her to the upper house. They are trying to convince the High Command that she could be used for election campaign if accommodated in the upper house.

Election to the Rajya Sabha seat of the late union minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh from the Mumbai would be held on January 12. Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chauhan is trying to send his close aide Rohitdas Patil to Rajya Saha from that vacancy.

Meanwhile, the name of Nagma figured causing jitters in the Chief Minister’s camp. It is learnt that Maharashtra Congress affairs in-charge Mohan Prakash and some other leaders of the state have reportedly recommended the name of Nagma to the High Command. As Nagma is from Gujarat, she is likely to get the support of Sonia Gandhi’s adviser Ahmed Patel, who also hails from the state. One senior minister appears to be impressing that if Nagma was given Rajya Sabha membership, it would not only boost Congress chances in Gujarat, but also help gaining the support of Muslim women in Maharashtra and elsewhere. As Nagma has charisma in AP, Tamilnadu and Kerala, she could be used for campaign, her supporters are pointing out.

Nagma is a known Congress supporter. She tried for Lok Sabha ticket from Mumbai or some other northern state in 2009. Though she was denied ticket, she has campaigned for the Congress candidates in the Hindi and Bhojpuri areas of Mumbai. Some Congress leaders are arguing that she should be given ticket as she is a dedicated Congress supporter. However, some prominent leaders are trying to send Vilas Rao’s wife Vaisalini to the upper house. Rajini Patil, former minister Rohit Das Patil, former MLA Muzaffar Hussain and Suodh Mohite who has recently left Shiva Sena and joined Congress are some of the other contestants for the Rajya Sabha seat.

Gang-rape: Rapists to face murder charge

0
The six males whose gang-rape and torture of a young woman caused her death in Singapore Saturday will now charged with murder, police sources said.

Delhi Police had charged the six accused, including a suspected juvenile, with rape. They later added the charge of attempt to murder.

This will now be converted into murder charge under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, a police source told.

All six are presently in Delhi’s Tihar Central Jail. Police have said they were conducting tests to determine the age of one of the accused who claims he was not an adult.

The rapists hail mainly from a slum area in south Delhi. They coaxed the 23-year-old woman and her male friend to board the bus in Munirka in south Delhi Dec 16 night saying they were headed to Dwarka in west Delhi.

Once the bus began moving, they pounced on the woman and gang-raped her for some 40 minutes before dumping her on the roadside. She was also tortured with an iron rod when she put up stiff resistance.

Her friend was also thrown out of the bus and thrown out.

The bus passed through several key roads, even past Police Control Room vans. But since the bus windows were tinted and had their curtains drawn, no one could spot what was going on inside.

The two were discovered shivering and bleeding by a patrol of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) who alerted the police.

While the friend was discharged soon after, the young woman remained in critical condition in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.

She was moved Thursday to Singapore where she passed away early Saturday at 2.15 a.m. IST.

Ko Ante Koti Movie Review – 2.5/5

0
Rating: 2.5/5
Banner: Sarvaa Arts
Cast: Sharvanand, Priya Anand, Srihari and others
Editing: Marthand .K.Venkatesh
Cinematography: Erukulla Rakesh & Naveen Yadav
Music: Shakti Kanth
Producer: Sharvanand
Written & Directed by: Anish Yohan Kuruvilla
CBFC Rating: ‘A’
Release Date: 28-12-2012

Story: Vamsi(Sharvanand) is an orphan and grows up as a thief. Vamsi meets Maaya Master(Srihari) in a jail. Vamsi falls in love with Satya(Priya Anand) a classical dance teacher, who teaches to kids and is more interested in playing public awareness dramas in rural areas. Vamsi wants to leave the profession and live happily with Satya. but destiny has other ideas for him and he becomes a part of a robbery. What happens after that is what the movie is about?

Performances: Sharvanand has come up with yet another wonderful performance. He is natural in almost all the scenes be it a romantic number or talkie part. Priya Anand is good. Srihari once again comes up with decent performance needed by the director. The remaining cast are mostly new comers. The plot of the film is good but there are plenty of loop holes in the way it’s narrated. The first half is completely scattered. The second half is better in terms of focus. Art work and Editing are good. Screenplay is weak. The Direction is good in few places.

Analysis: Anish Kuruvilla who earlier directed Avakai Biryani(2008) directed this flick. Sharvanand produced himself under “Sarvaa Arts” banner. Sharvanand and the team raised expectations with the Music, Promos and the publicity much before the movie’s release. The Movie received an ‘A’ certificate for the Violence and Coarse language used.

Sharvanand once again impresses us with his subtle yet strong performance. The romantic thread suited to him aptly as if subtle love tracks are meant for him only. Priya Anand is good. She performed well. She looked cute and homely in those cotton Punjabi suits and Sarees. Srihari is realistic, he just behaved like a thief who lives in the slum and does anything for money. The supporting artists are mostly new and looked raw.

The comedy track(drama) in the flashback episodes is boring and tests your patience. This the worst comedy thread of recent times which failed utterly in evoking laughs and is bit irritating at times. The Dialogues are okay in few places(most of the dialogues are muted which has filthy language). The Music is okay with a couple of slow numbers and the Background score(Ko ante Koti theme) was good but the rest of the BGM is loud and the re-recording overlapped the dialogues at times.

The Director and his team experimented with new screenplay very much similar to Bollywood realistic raw movies(directed by Anurag Kasyap, Vishal Baradwaj). The Director lost grip over the scenes in the first half and concentrated more on the behavior of the characters. Realistic movie directors like Anurag and vishal purely concentrate on the backdrop and nativity of the people and then place the character in extreme circumstances and take out the output. The back robbery was also not up to the mark. Some scenes reminded of Hindi flick Johnny Gaddar (Neil Nitin Mukesh). The director failed in making it a thrilling experience. The introduction of the Characters through Sharvanad’s voice over was good experiment.

The repeated glimpses of the flash back(black & White) love story of the hero is shown ‘n’ number of times for every 15 minutes which is boring. The whole first half- an- hour time is taken to introduce the characters. The movie slows down once the love story begins. The firts half lacks clarity. The second half is better when compared to the first one. The gang(friends) of the robbery team failed in elevating the emotional content and touch the Audience in the second half. Art work is impressive with mostly realistic locations and feel. Cinematography is okay. The songs are well shot. Editing is good. The production values are okay.

The Director and Producer(Sharvanand) should be commended for coming up with an experimental non routine flick but could have tasted success if executed well. We have to wait and watch how the Multiplex(Target) Audience receive this experiment as this movie is not for the masses.

Plus: Sharvanand, Srihari
Minus: Screenplay and Narration

Verdict:Movie disappoints due to bad execution. Keep away if you are looking for a regular commercial flick

Genius Movie Review – 2.5/5

0

Rating : 2.5/5
Film: Genius
Starring: Havish, Sanusha,Sarath Kumar,Ashwin,Abhinaya
Director: Ohmkar
Producer: Dasari Kiran Kumar
Banner: Ramadootha Creations
Music: Joshua Sridhar

Story
Nivas (Havish) gets inspired by Nanaji, (Pradeep Rawat) an MLA while his friends Yaasir a fan of cricketer Nizamuddin (Adarsh)and Koti a fan of Peddapuram Peda Babu (Ashish Vidyardhi). However, the three of them quickly realizes that their matinee idols are quite selfish and goes to any extent for their personal interests. Nivas, Yaasir and Koti decides to take revenge on them and in the process Sarath Chandra (Sarath Kumar), a special officer gets into the job on investigating the murders. Rest of the story forms the crux.
Performances
Havish looks good but he fails to give apt expressions for the scenes and carries similar expression all through.
It’s the same with heroine Sanusha, who looks good but performance-wise she fails.
Sarath Kumar has a good role and he delivers his best, Brahmanandam entertains to the most providing us some sort of relief, Ashish Vidyardhi is decent and Pradeep Rawat is okay. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Annapurna and others were adequate.
Technical Analysis
Music is below average while the background score is strictly okay. Placement of songs hampers the flow. Screenplay is inconsistent while editing is pathetic. Dialogues are outdated. Ohmkar’s direction skills are below par while Production values are standard.

Analysis
The movie takes off well with few good notable dialogues but the lead stars performances will never make you connect to the scenes. Few of the scenes involving Brahmanandam, Sarath Kumar scenes in the first half and a series of murders may create some interest but the inconsistent screenplay and untimely songs test the patience. The second half falls flat and the climax is quite disappointing. The message delivered is misleading though the film is made with a good intention.

Final Verdict
Poor narration with unconvincing climax!!!
