If the grapevine in Kollywood is to be believed, Super Star Rajinikanth and ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam are going to join hand for a project very soon. The last time the legends came together was for Dhalapathi, which was a runaway hit. While both the parties are not available for comment, few Kollywood sources tells us that this combination is on cards.

Superstar Rajinikanth has just completed the work on Kochadaiyaan, directed by his daughter Soundarya R Ashwin. The film is expected to release in January 2013 for Pongal. And on the other side, Mani Ratnam has wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming movie Kadal.

Actor Siddharth’s interest in Cricket is well known with the actor cheering Deccan Chargers in IPL in many matches. Recently, Siddharth got a surprise call from none other than Salman Khan asking him to play for Mumbai Heroes at the Celebrity Cricket League next year. He himself revealed this in Twitter.Apart from Mumbai, Sid also received calls from Bangalore and Hyderabad teams to play for them next year, but unfortunately the actor cannot take part in the sport as he is nursing a shoulder injury and has been advised rest from participating in any heavy physical activity.

Siddharth is currently busy wrapping up Jabardasth. He had couple of Tamil movies in shooting which will also be dubbed in to Telugu.

Veteran actress Manisha Koirala who recently made her come back with RGV’s Bhoot Returns is reportedly suffering from Ovarian Cancer. The 42-year-old actress reportedly fell unconscious, she was immediately flown to Mumbai with her mother for further check-ups, leading to her hospitalisation at Jaslok Hospital. The hospital sources remained tightlipped about her health condition.

Manisha made her debut in 1991 in Saudagar and recently made her comeback in Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot Returns. She is well known to Telugu audience with a few notable films to her credit like ‘Bharateeyudu’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Baba’, and ‘Criminal’.

No, this is not her role in her next movie. The national award winning actress, Vidya Balan, is actually going to lecture students in California. How the students feel after the ‘Dirty Lecfture’ from Voluptuous Vidya should be analysed after some time.

A film school in California has invited Vidya Balan to visit their university and deliver a few lectures on cinema to the students there. Vidya, who made her debut with Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Parineeta and has been riding high on success with her hit movies like No one Killed Jessica , Paa, The Dirty Picture and Kahaani, was considered by the university to be an apt example for their students. Apart from the National Film Award, she has also won four Filmfare awards four Screen awards.

Clearly, her talent is being recognized internationally. Vidya was reportedly very happy when she received the invitation and agreed to visit the film school. Though she has been busy with her movie schedule, she would be leaving for US the moment she finds some spare time.

Currently, she is busy shooting for her upcoming Ghanchakkar , also starring Emraan Hashmi, who was also Vidya’s co-star in The Dirty Picture. She is also going to star in Shaadi ke Side Effects , which is expected to release in 2013.

The superstar Rajnikanth’s biggest fan Raghava Lawrence, who is a choreographer-turned-director, has
decided to dedicate a special album to him on his birthday. Rajnikanth will turn 62 on the 12 th December
2012.

In his recent statement, he revealed that he is a really big fan of Rajnikantth, and that he also holds
Rajnikanth in a high pedestal as he is really a very good human being. So he is dedicating a special album
for Rajni sir for his birthday this December, which will be on 12-12-12. The music for this special album
will be composed by music director Vijay Antony. This album will also be a treat for all of Rajnikanth’s
fans.

However, unnamed sources have revealed that Raghava Lawrence has other intentions behind this
birthday gift. It is said that his recently released movie Rebel which had starred Prabhas and Tamanna as
the lead pair did quite poorly at the box office. The producers have put the blame for the losses of this
movie on the shoulder of Lawrence. Post this debacle, none of the producers are agreeable to work with
him and invest in his projects.

This birthday gift is, thus, being seen as his stunt to establish a gateway to get an opportunity to work
with Rajnikanth.Now it has to be seen whether Lawrence’s mystic magic will impress Super Star or not.

The glamorous actress Priyamani is now all set to don the avatar of a tough warrior princess in her
upcoming Telugu movie. Till now she has done mostly performance-based roles and some glamorous
roles as well.

The movie is a period film as the story is set in an era of 400 years ago. The man who will be donning
the director’s hat for this movie is Prem Arya, who was the former associate of filmmaker Anishankar.
He revealed that it is Priyamani who will play the warrior princess in the movie. He also informed that
the film will be shot at an ancient fort in Chandragiri near Tirupati, which will tentatively start around 5 th
December.

Most actresses have attained huge success after working in period films. Right from Anushka, whose
work in Arundhathi did wonders to her career graph, to Kajal Agarwal, who acted in Magadheera
(Maaveeran in Tamil), another period film, marked the rise for her. Whether this period film is able to
work the same magic for Priyamani, will be decided only after the release of the movie.

However, she has also said yes to act in another movie to be directed by director Samudra.

Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz can be seen riding a scooter in an upcoming movie Phata Poster Nikalo,where they have been paired together for the first time. Ileana D’Cruz, who acted in various south movies and romanced with top south stars, made a dashing entry in Bollywood with Anurag Basu’s super hit Barfi! , where she was paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Phata Poster Nikalo is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, whose last movie was Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani . This movie is about a young boy who wants to be a superstar, against his mother’s wishes.Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a cop named Vishwas Rao and this is the first time that Shahid Kapoor donning the look of a cop.

This movie is being produced by Ramesh Taurani who revealed that this movie is an entertainer, with romance and action as its core element and that it is a complete masala movie.Rmesh Taurani had been planning this movie with Shahid Kapoor for quite some time, but the actor,who had his hands full with a movie with Manish Sharma and another with Prabhu Deva, accepted the
movie only in July. The movie is expected to have a 2013 release.

Ram Gopal Varma who invited the wrath of Mumbaites when he visited Hotel Taj right after 26/11 attacks seems to be making amends with his acts over the last couple of days. “The Attacks of26/11” is Ram Gopal Verma’s upcoming movie starring Nana Patekar and Sanjiv Jaiswal and is based on the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Ramu some time back released 7 min clip of the film during which he apologised for his acts. Now he went even further when the the producer Parag Sanghvi has declared that the proceeds of this movie will be donated to the victims of the attack and the heroes of that tragic event.Sanghvi said that this is not a commercial movie and therefore, the profits earned from this movie will be dedicated to the cause which is the subject of this movie.The movie has Sanjeev Jaiswal playing the character of Ajmal Kasab. The art director is Uday Singh. The Promos of the movie has already been released.

It has to be seen whether Mumbaikars accept RGV’s apologies and forgive him for his acts. RGV interacted with police force and even families of Mumbai victims.

Raghava Lawrence yesterday announced that his Muni sequel will feature tempting beauty Tapsee opposite him. Tapsee may be over the moon with the turn of evens as his earlier films turned out to be a hit but many wonder whether she can bear Lawrence’s torture in the sets.
 

Lawrence first decided to cast Anushka in Muni-2 which was released as Kanchana in telugu. He asked her thinking that she won’t refuse him as she earlier starred in Don along with Nagarjuna in his direction. However when she refused he cast Lakshmi Rai and scored a hit.

Later when he happened to direct her in Prabhas starrer Rebel, he tortured her to the core and made her leave the film. The film was completed with Tamanna in lead. Now one wonder whether Tapsee can withstand and tolerate Lawrence tantrums and troubles. If she can’t then when he gets chance, Lawrence will torture her squeezing her to the core. It has to be seen how Tapsee will deal with egoistic and egocentric lawrence.

Priyanka Chopra is in Hyderabad for the shooting of Ram Charan’s Bollywood debut movie, Zanjeer. This is the first schedule of Piggy Chops for the movie and the leggy lass seem to be having a great time in the city. Upasana Kamineni, wife of Ram Charan had been taking special care of PC during the shoot. She had been serving the special food brought from her house to her and is also taking her around the city for shopping.

“Upasna (Kamineni) has been extremely kind and sends us whatever we want.” Piggy Chops telling every one she comes across about Upasana.

Taking a cue from Kamal Hassan’s ‘Viswaroopam’, Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’ is all set to make use of the latest technology Auro 3D. Auro-3D is the latest in next generation audio format that seems to provide a full three-dimensional sound spread capable of reproducing natural acoustic space. It was told that Rajinikanth called on Kamal and requested his help with the Auro 3D technology. The core team of Kochadaiyaan had a meeting with Kamal Haasan recently wherein they discussed the viability of utilizing this technique in their film and the veteran star gave good tips for it.

Kochadaiyaan has Sarathkumar, Aadi, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Nassar as part of the cast. Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya is directing the movie. KS Ravi Kumar had penned the script. The movie is being readied for September release. Music Mozzart AR Rahman is rendering the music.

If our sources in Bollywood are to be believed Chiranjeevi’s last movie Stalin is going to be remade in Hindi with Salman Khan in lead role. Salman Khan’s brother Sohail Khan might direct the film. The discussions to remake the film in Hindi are still in preliminary stages and an official statement is expected very soon.

Six years ago, when Chiranjeevi was contemplating to foray in to politics, he acted wanted to act in a movie with Social message and chose Stalin by AR Murugudoss. The movie was a decent hit then. Stalin was written and directed by A R Murugadoss and Chiranjeevi had played the role of an army major in the film. Trisha had paired up with Chiranjeevi and Prakash Raj played the villain’s role.
