0

They say that even at the age of 63 Babu is undertaking yatra and people are of the opinion that he would maintain law and order in the state. CVR Survey predicted TDP -124, YSRCP-79, TRS-42, Cong-34, Majlis-7, BJP-4 etc.

However this is in stark contrast to YSRCP survey which predicted YSRCP-177,TDP-36, COng-36, TRS-34. PCC chief Botsa who got sms of TDP coming to power is analysing the results. Don’t be surprised if another survey predicting Cong returning to power comes.

CM Kiran’s show of Courage

0
Many feel Kiran Kumar Reddy is only a mere puppet placed in CM chair and high command will be making him dance according to their tunes. This impression is not only in general public and opposition parties but also in Cong party itself. Even his cabinet colleagues and MLAs,MLCs donot consider him as CM and don’t give the respect the chair deserves.

Day in and day out all and sundry leaders criticise CM on one issue and other and many ministers after coming out of the cabinet lash out at CM saying he is unfit to rule. All this is nothing new but CM Kiran yesterday in a rare display of courage took a tough call and informed in cabinet meet that CM has full rights to sack a cabinet minister if he goes against the decision of cabinet and criticises in public.

He even cited Supreme Court ruling in Deva Gowda case and put his minister DL.Ravindra Reddy who is going all out in criticising CM on note, sending subtle warning messages. This came as a surprise to many and one feel that he might have got orders from High Command to act tough on dissent.

Can Murugadoss show his ‘Power’ in Tollywood

0
Sensational director Murugadoss spellbound movie lovers with his creative and innovative thinking. All his films touch upon unique concepts and he even conquered Bollywood by directing none other than Amir Khan in ‘Gajini’ in Bollywood. He recently tasted success with Tupaki in South and is planning to take this terror thriller to Bollywood. Riding high on his success of Thuppakki, the talented director A R Murugadoss will now direct superstar Pawan Kalyan for his next movie. Buzz is Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra will be starring in the film.

However Tollywood movie lovers and fans always feel that though he conquered the hearts, he couldn’t conquer the industry with a straight film. True he made a film featuring Mega Star Chiranjeevi in ‘Stalin’ but it didnot create the sensation which was expected to do so. Chiru specially roped in Murugadoss for the film.

Murugadoss seems to be keen on erasing this impression and according to latest information he will be directing Powerstar Pawan Kalyan in an action entertainer which will be starting by Mid 2013. Pawan who rewrote tollywood records with Gabbar Singh is said to have given green signal with in seconds of hearing the narration. After watching Tupaki many mega fans felt that Murugadoss could have planned such kind of film with Pawan Kalyan. It has to be seen whether he will fulfill mega dreams of mega fans.

Nagma fans in Maharashtra Congress

There was a time when south Indian heroes were fighting for the dates of Nagma in their films. But after all these years, Congress leaders in Maharashtra are fighting due to this yester-year heroine. Jumping into the details, there was news that Nagma was contesting in the 2009 elections but that didn’t happen. Now that the same news are flying about the 2014 elections that Nagma is contesting for Rajya Sabha in replacement to the ex-chief minister late Vilas Rao Deshmukh after his demise. Here starts the problem from the other leaders and their supporters who are also trying for that place in Rajya Sabha. Rohidas Patil is one who is also competing with Nagma and was backed up by the chief minister Prithiviraj Chouhan. Others include Naresh Pugalia from Vidharbaha and ex-minister Anees Ahmed also competing with Nagma. But she has enough weight in Delhi, who has supporters that could convince high command in this matter. If everything goes well, Nagma will be seen in Parliament.

Y.S.Jagan and Nagarjuna

0
Nagarjuna is called as a gentle man in the industry. Now there is a rumor around film and political circles about a deal he made with a political party. Coming to the details, Nagarjuna demanded a package of few crores for the campaigning of YSR CP for the next elections when the party asked him to do. This news is creating waves across. It was an open secret that YSR helped Akkineni family in the case of seven acres of disputed land in Annapurna studio. But it is heard that Nagarjuna demanded a package of money to do so. To add more to this, even Jagan went mad at Nagarjuna for asking money.

Story

B.Tech Babu(Rana) wants to go to US for higher studies and good earning, Rana does some key roles in the dramas with his grandfather(Kota Srinivasa Rao) who is member of Surabhi Drama Company. His grandfather is against to his wish. Babu wants to perform lastly in a drama “Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum” written by his grandfather in Bellary. Devika(Nayanatara) is Tv journalist who comes to Bellary to shoot a documentary on mining mafia. What happens after that? What changes babu and what he learns in his journey is what the movie is about.

Performances
Rana is good and he performed well. His muscular body and expressions overshadowed his performance in crucial scenes, his expressions are hardly visible in emotional scenes. Nayana tara suited to the role of TV Reporter. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Milind Gunaji, Murali Sharma, Posani are okay. L.B.Sriram sparkled once again in a brief role. Brahmanandam delivered poor show. The remaining supporting cast are okay. Music by Manisharma is fantastic. The technical departments Cinematography, Editing score good marks. The Story is good. The screenplay is racy in the second half. The Direction is good in parts.

Analysis

Krish’s much-anticipated follow-up to his ‘Gamyam’ and ‘Vedam’ features Rana Daggubati as B Tech Babu and Nayantara as Devika, a documentary filmmaker. Rana is good, he has given decent performance and in action sequences he is too good. Nayanatara suited to the role. she dubbed her own voice for the first time in Telugu and she is okay. The chemistry between the lead pair is okay. There aren’t much scenes to depict that.

Kota Srinivas rao is good, he was restricted to only a couple of scenes. Posani Krishna Murali is good as cab driver and he evokes some laughs. Brahmanandam have been wasted. Raghu babu and Satyam Rajesh are okay in their roles. Murali sharma is okay. Milind Gunaji suited to the role of antagonist. L.B.Sriram once again tops the others in a brief role in the second half. He delivered good performance. Venkatesh-Rana shared silver screen for the first time (though it’s for few minutes) with Sameera Reddy in an item song and the response in the theaters is huge.

Cinematography is okay. Art work and editing are neat. Music by Manisharma is fantastic , he has come up with some soulful tunes supported by good lyrics. Manisharma once again proved that he is best in BGM. The background score is fantastic. Lyrics by Sirivennela and ES Murthy are good. The story is good and has a lot of potential. The screenplay is also engaging in parts but the Direction could have been better. There are some scenes which appeared dragged. The Dialogues are good in most of the places. The dialogues have deep philosophical insight. The dialogues are big asset to the movie.

The director should first decide on which pattern and mode to proceed. The characters and the roles of the protagonist and antagonists are not properly etched. If the movie have been taken in the artistic way it could have turned into a master piece by showing the struggle and pain of the villagers who lost their land, children and food.. The unnecessary inclusion of so called mass elements and the ups and downs in the graph effected the flow of the movie. Some scenes appeared forced and artificial. The personal grudge and the public frustration/anguish weren’t well balanced towards the end. Krish failed at places in blending the mass elements to a classical and subtle treatment.

Rana has put a lot of effort and it’s evident, He tried his best in the diction of Dialogues in the Drama sequences. All the songs are well picturised. The item song in the Second half is a pop-up. The Climax get-up as Lord Narasimha Swamy in the song just before the climax is very good; for the common mass movie lovers it’s hard to bear the typical Drama sequences which may bore them.

The first half is okay(even though nothing much happens) and the second half is just okay(with good climax). Krish should definitely be commended for the effort made to portray the essence of Bhagavad-Gita; the movie has a subtle message and is thought provoking. The movie surely gets good reviews from intellects but it’s commercial success solely depends on how it fares at the B,C Centers. How family Audience receive this flick is awaited.

Plus: Music, Dialogues, Performances

Minus: Slow beginning, Comedy, drama scenes,Artificial scenes

Verdict
: Decent Attempt, Krish tried to narrate a serious issue in a commercial way and succeeded to some extent

0
Salman Khan is extremely intelligent and can easily guage the pulse of viewers. That is the reason he shed all his inhibitions and forgetting his super star status decided to star in the remake of Southern superhit film ‘Pokiri’ featuring Mahesh Babu. The film went on to create sensation in Bollywood and he never looked back.

He scored hattrick of hits with Ready and Bodyguard and is now busy with Kick. As if this is not enough sources say Sallu Miya is keen to become Bollywood’s ‘Stalin’. The film is a south Indian starrer featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi directed by top director Murugadoss. Murugadoss recently scored a hit with Tupakki and is taking it to Bollywood presenting it to Akshay Kumar.

Salman in the meanwhile sources say will reprise Chiranjeevi’s role in this Bollywood version, which is to be directed by brother Sohail Khan.Salman is yet to give the nod for Stalin and the filmmaker might announce the project once the actor agrees to it.

Stalin was written and directed by AR Murugadoss and the film had Trisha, Prakash Raj and Khushboo essaying important roles. The movie, which has the music of Mani Sharma, was a successful film at the Tollywood box office and is one of the highest grossers in 2006.

Can Dalapathi team create Double Dhamaka?

0
Two decades mesmerising director Maniratnam teamed up with Super Star Rajanikanth to create a sensation on Southern screen. He transformed Rajani as ‘Dalapati’  turning him the commander. The film had terrific storyline coupled with beautiful tunes from Isaignani Ilayaraja. Mammutty and Rajanikanth’s powerful performances coupled with young and charming Arvind Swamy’s debut created a stunning impact. All across the country hailed Maniratnam’s creative genius of imbibing Mahabharata storyline of Karna and Duryodhana friendship in the current context.

Even now the film is remembered and now sources say both the stars are getting ready for another Dalapathi. Insiders reveal that  Maniratnam’s office is full of discussion with superstar’s film. Superstar’s fans are discussing what deadly impact the film will create. One wonder whether the film includes the same starcast of Malayalam superstar Mammutty and retired but not tired handsome hero Aravind Swamy.

Aravind Swamy is currently starring in Maniratnam’s Kadal while Superstar is busy with his film Kochadiyan. The moment official announcement comes the project will be closely followed with scribes competing between themselves as to what could be the storyline.

Moms and grannies silver screen sizzlers

0
Film industry always oozes with glamor and most of the times public is under the impression that only beauties in the age group of 16-25 are fit for acting and the moment they cross the line or gets married, they are unfit for acting. However things are getting changed and now many moms have made their re entry into the film industry impressing viewers with their performances.

Now moms and grannies are getting ready to sizzle on silverscreen. It is not that moms and grannies are going to rock on silver screen but beautiful stars are getting ready to sizzle in the roles of moms and grannies. While Sneha is getting ready to star as mom of ten year old boy in the film Haridas directed by Kumaravelan, Bollywood beauty Rekha is going onestep ahead turning grand mother of Sharman Joshi in her next film directed by Indra Kumar.

Sneha says she agreed for the role as it is important role in the film and director insisted and impressed on her that only she can do justice for the role while sources speaking about Rekha’s role says “The actor plays a US-returned guy, who is extremely fond of his naani (Rekha). He stands up for her when she is ill-treated by the family. Randhir Kapoor plays Sharman’s grandfather.”

Brahmanandam insulting brahmins?

0
When Denikaina Ready was released and it generated immense controversy, Brahmin Organisations demanded action against the stars featuring in the film for hurting the sentiments of priests and brahmins. When Brahmin organisations met Brahmi particularly, he apologised the leaders and promised them not to star in such roles. However it seems Brahmi did not mend his ways or film makers are scripting the same scenes again and again which feature him as priest and get thrashed by heroes who make him a laughing stock.

The same incident repeated in King Nagarjuna starrer Damarukam where he was seen as a brahmin house owner who rents his house to Nagarjuna. Nagarjuna enjoys merrily with out paying rent and when Brahmi asks rent, he takes him to task beating him to the core. One wonder how could Nag who robs people of lakhs and crores and donates to orphan homes stay for free at Brahmi’s house.

Even now in Rana starrer Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Brahmanandam is seen as a drama artist and he is shown at the recieving end with the hero and other characters. It seems film makers in their effort to show Brahmi as comedian is making laughing stock of him and in turn insulting various communities.
