Many movie lovers in tollywood wondered whether any new debutant will bring refreshing change on silver screen or are they have to watch the old and known faces. Those who got bugged by monotony kept tracking on the performances of new comers and debutantes. However many disappointed and even debutantes of super hit films like ‘Happy Days’ and ‘Kothabangaru Lokam’ also left them disappointed. In the midst of all this when all looked for the high profile debut of MS.Raju’s son Sumanth Aswin’s debut, even he disappointed in ‘Tooneega Tooneega’ by trying to imitate other stars in tollywood instead of carving a niche for himself.
When they lost all hope then Aadi made sensational entry. Being the son of Sai Kumar who got the reputation of ‘Dialogue King’, he did not face any problems in voice modulations and dialogue delivery. His rigorous stints in other acts of acting stood in good ground and he came up with a sterling performance in ‘Prema Kavali’. The film went on to celebrate 100 days and when many thought of writing the success as flash in the pan, he came up with another ‘Lovely’ entertainer. He scored another century in the second film and now is turning ‘Sukumarudu’.
Many feel that his back to back hits and that too scoring centuries when even 50 days are becoming distant dream, marks the arrival of new star on tollywood silver screen. Now with proper planning and careful selection of scripts he can be the next superstar of tollywood.

Rajamouli’s First failure

Tollywood’s most successful director Rajamouli has tasted his first failure. We are taking about his first production venture, Andala Rakshasi. The movie had carried negative talk right from the day one and is now dipping low on collections charts especially from Monday.
However, Rajamouli is acting as if every thing is okay. On the day of its release, he had posted on Twitter, “Despite mixed talk and not so +ve reviews andala rakshasi took a fantastic opening.expecting the same for sat and Sunday.monday will decide.” After looking at the collections which the film registered on Monday, he revealed, “No significant drop in Monday mrng and noon shows..looks like andala rakshasi is holding fort..:) Weekend has been superb as expected.”
Hanu Raghavapudi directed the film and it stars newcomers Naveen, Rahul and Lavanya in lead roles. Radhan is the music director and Murali is the cinematographer.

Badshah theme song is ready

Music director Thaman had finished composing the theme song for Young Tiger NTR’s upcoming film Baadshah. He composed the song in Bangkok along with the famous Bangkok philharmonic orchestra. Singers Rahul, Ranjith and Suchitra accompanied him during his recent visit to Bangkok and now all of them have returned to Chennai. The song is said to have come out very well and Sreenu Vaitla is extremely happy with the output.
The second schedule of Baadshah will begin from August 15 in Bangkok. “Baadshah 2nd schedule starts in Bangkok from 15 th Aug.They will picturize couple of fights(vijay master),major portion of talkie & a Song,” Gopi Mohan posted on Twitter. Sreenu Vaitla is directing the film and Ganesh Babu is producing it.

Kajal Agarwal is the principal female lead.Richa Gangopadyay is playing the second lead. The movie is being directed by Parsuram who earlier directed Solo with Nara Rohit. Aswini Dutt is producing the movie under his Vyjayanthi movies banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. The movie is expected to release for Pongal, 2013.

The year stared off with Mega Power Ram Charan do ‘Racha’ along with milky beauty Tamanna much to the delight of mass fans. The very next moment Power Star Pawan Kalyan turned ‘Gabbar Singh’ and created a sensation across the world. More recently Stylish Star Allu Arjun turned Julaayi and is taking mega fans on a jolly ride. But already analysts feel stage is set for bitter battle between mega heroes.While Ram Charan is planning for a double strike in tollywood turning ‘Nayak’ in VV.Vinayak’s direction and ‘Yevadu’ in Vamsi Pydipalli direction, Power Star Pawan Kalyan is turning ‘Cameraman Gangato Rambabu’ under Puri Jagannath direction. Not to be left behind is Stylish Star Allu Arjun who is shining for few seconds in Cherry’s Yevadu before romancing with ‘Iddaru Ammayilu’ under Puri Jagannath’s direction.
All in all these mega movies will be a treat to movie lovers but will surely leave mega fans in dilemma as which hero they have to side with in this bitter battle between their iconic stars.

Who is fixing YSR cabinet?

Late CM YSR who ruled the stage of Andhra Pradesh with iron like grip used to have his own trusted men as his cabinet ministers so that he won’t be having opposition in any manner. That was the reason why experienced leaders like Shankar Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana, Hanumantha Rao, Late P.Janaradhana Reddy were not taken in the cabinet. Later after his death entire cabinet minsters signed supporting Jagan as CM. Later they went back after watching high command’s reluctance in accepting their request. The high command proceeded with the same cabinet though it changed CM. When ever congress lost in by elections some in the party used to raise their voices saying there are coverts in the cabinet. However they did not name anyone and even the new chief of State Youth Congress,mentioned about coverts. He went ahead and said if action is not taken, he would divulge their names.
When CBI arrested BC minister Mopidevi Venkatararamana, many were shocked as it is not of Congress nature to sacrifice its minster without any reason. Many felt that it was a bait for Jagan’s arrest so that he can’t claim that he was victimised. But now with CBI naming another minister Dharmana Prasada Rao in VANPIC case, shivers are running down the spines of the ministers who were close to YSR. Those who are watching the entire developments wonder who is targeting and fixing YSR cabinet one by one sending them straight to jail. Many feel that it is the handiwork of ever cunning congress high command and Sonia Gandhi, who don’t want to give a chance for cabinet ministers loyal to YSR or target them making them martyrs. Accordingly they are using CBI after making Shankar Rao file a petition in High Court and proceeded with Operation YSR cabinet. Now one wonder who will be next in line from YSR cabinet.

Mass Raja’s mysterious Miseries

Mass Raja Raviteja till couple of years back used to rule the root on tollywood silver screen and there was time when even Natasimha Balakrishna used to think twice before releasing his film in competition with him. He even scored a decent hit in ‘Mirapakaya’ and won the praises of movie analysts for his courage and guts to give Harish Shankar second chance after his disastrous debut film Shock. Harish went on to become star director later with Power Star’s ‘Gabbar Singh’. However Mass Raja’s stars deserted him as he tasted two flops with his friend Ram Gopal Varma’s two films KSD Appalaraju and Dongala Mutha. Though he played cameo in one film it affected his image. This reflected in Veera, Nippu and Daruvu.
When everyone expected him to show his guts, his film makers started postponing their releases many times this year denting Raviteja’s image. When the films were released finally they lost their steam and disappeared without even making any noises. The scripts and storylines of all these duds were routine and people became monotonous watching Mass Raja breathing same fire and dialogues coupled with stale comedy. Many feel that Mass Raja’s miseries are due to film makers who are taking him for a ride. Ravi Teja who is good at heart is unable to refuse and for the sake of friendship signing films which other stars wouldn’t have done so. In the process he is putting his stardom at stake. Hope Raviteja take quick corrective measures before it is too late.

CM stars’ smiling on Chiru?

CM chair seems to have become musical chairs play for Congress high command at center. When it happens just like it is happening in Andhra Pradesh at present, then rumors will fly high and people don’t know whom to believe and which news to accept. Friends will change foes and foes will becoming friends before one blinks his eyeball and things change quick and fast. State of AP has been hearing the news of CM change ever since he was sworn in. This has been the situation after the tragic death of YSR who used to be the strong force. This even his detractors when he was alive and now vouch for.
The day Congress lost by elections, which has now become a habit for the party, many predicted change in CM post. However nothing of that sorts happened and when aspirants for CM post lost their hopes, suddenly came the Gas issue in which stakes are high for the state. However none including the cabinet ministers and Union Petroleum Minsiter Jaipal Reddy thought so. This became weapon for CM Kiran who lost all his hopes of continuing in the CM post. He single handedly won the battle and bought gas back to state.
However with speculation of CM change, many contenders are trying their luck and started testing their chances. Some like Jana Reddy, Jaipal Reddy and others in cabinet along with Botsa Satyanarayana are silently trying their chances. However many feel Megastar Chiranjeevi may turn out to be the dark horse just like Kiran emerged when Rosaiah was booted out. During that time there were strong contenders but Sonia pulled Rabbit Kiran from her hat. Who knows this time if luck favors Chiru he could well be AP’s next CM. Better Chiru plays his card close to his chest and if he manipulate things accordingly he will be in with a golden opportunity. All the best Chiru!

Law Minister looking elsewhere

Each and everyone is aware of the duties and responsibilities of Law Minister and his Law Ministry. When any law and order problem arises Minister will be held responsible. Such is the importance of the portfolio that he should be alert day in and day out. However current Law Minister of Andhra Pradesh Erasu Pratap Reddy seems to be having other ideas and is choosing to look else where. Public still can not forget how vandals acted going on a demolishing spree during million march or when lawyers held even High Court to ransom attacking and threatening even honorable judges. However Law Minister did not take any steps or try to make lawyers of his officials mend their ways and make the state safe zone for public.
According to latest information the Law Minister is making his debut in tollywood and is fulfilling his dream of becoming CM at least on silver screen. He is making his debut on silver screen in a Jagapathy Babu’s new film under Nandam Harishchandra Rao’s direction. He will be seen in a special role as CM of AP!.> The film’s shooting is currently under progress at Hyderabad and producers Jitta Surendra Reddy and AB.Srinivas say that the shooting will be completed by 28th of this month. Law Minister speaking on the occasion said the film revolves around current politics and how opponent political parties try to topple honest CM. Film includes Posani Krishna Murali, Sayaji Shinde, Rao Ramesh, RK.Sonia, Katti Kartika and others are in the film. MM.Srileka is the music director for the film.
Many feel that anyway Law Minister is aware that even if he throws some criminals in lockup, his political bosses will wake up or TRS party will start T agitation demanding release of the criminals and so he is not wasting his time. In the mean time he is at least realising his dream of becoming CM in real life before he puts his plans in action in real life.

DSP’s musical drives

When music lovers couldn’t find talented Devi Sri Prasad any where last year with just some musings in Mr.Perfect, 100% Love and Oosaravelli, many thought he is getting swept away by Thaman’s tunes tsunami. Thaman last year started from ‘Veera’ and struck with ‘Kanchana’, ‘Kandireega’ and back to back musical hits ‘Dookudu’, ‘Business Man’ along with ‘Body Guard’. Watching his force and pace and with even none other than Prince Mahesh Babu sining praises and lavishing accolades on Thaman many thought Devi Sri is going to disappear from tollywood silver screen. Thaman already started the year at that time with ‘Love Failure’.
However ever resilient DSP struck back with vengeance with ‘Gabbar Singh’ which made everyone shout ‘Kevvu Keka’ much to the shock of his detractors. Now he came as ‘Julaayi’ and with all the tunes are rocking at the box office , analysts feel that DSP seems to have weathered away Thaman’s storm. One has to wait and watch whether it is temporary relief for DSP or permanent and Thaman’s silence can be compared to silence between thunder storms. Though there are many music directors in tollywood the fight is mainly between these two people as they know how to strike chord with mass beats. While Keeravani is as melodious as ever with ‘Eega’ and ‘Shirdi Sai’, melody brahma Manishama turned mass brahma in ‘Racha’.

Boyapti turning Dynasty Director

Boyapati Srinu, though just four films old achieved such immense stardom in tollywood which many can achieve only after 10-12 films. All his films created an impact at box office and many were left in awe with his style of taking. Of all the films ‘Simha’ stands out as it rejuvenated Balakrishna’s career which was looking for a hit at that time. The film turned out to be a sensation and though many film makers and even Balkrishna tried his luck to surpass Simha they couldn’t come anywhere near it. This shows the caliber of Boyapati.
Of the four films he directed two have been with Nandamuri stars. After two years break from his ‘Simha’ success, he recently came with ‘Dammu’ along with Young Tiger NTR. The film though did not create the magic os ‘Simha’ connected well with the masses. He later planned to direct Prince Mahesh Babu and many are still eagerly waiting for an announcement from Boyapati.In the mean time one wonder whether he is turning to be Dynasty Director. Boyapati already directed top two Nandamuri stars, Natasimha Balakrishna and Young Tiger NTR from the family and if one believe the buzz, he is all set to direct Balakrishna’s son Nandamuri Mokshagna. It is heard that Balayya is so impressed with Boyapati’s ‘Simha’ that he asked him to prepare a script to launch his son in a grand manner. So three films with Nandamuri heroes out of five shows that Boyapati is a Dynasty Director.

Deeksha Seth is already branded as iron leg of tollywood and until unless she comes out with a hit it will be difficult for her. Similar is the case with Bengali Beauty Richa Gangopadhyaya and Mallu bomb Amla Paul. Unless until all these hotties score a hit quickly it will be difficult for her to progress in the industry.

Swamy, the protege of Karunakaran is very soon going to wield megaphone. He is going to direct a movie which will be produced by Good Cinema Group, which earlier made successful Telugu film Ee Rojullo. Swamy earlier worked as writer for several Telugu movies like Happy, Ullasanga Uthsahamga, Darling, Rebel, etc
The movie is titled “Romance”. The pooja ceremony took place in the studio premises and the regular shooting is expected to start in a couple of months. The details of the cast and crew will be announced shortly.
